A Colombian professional footballer Radamel Falcao Garcia Zarate (born 10 February 1986,) plays forward for Rayo Vallecano in La Liga and often serves as captain of the Colombia national team. One of the greatest Colombian footballers of all time, he is known as El Tigre (Spanish for The Tiger). His professional career began at the age of 13 with Lanceros Boyacá, before he transferred to River Plate, where he played with their youth academy from 2001 to 2005 and won the 2007–2008 Clausura tournament. Upon joining Porto in 2009, he won several trophies, including the UEFA Europa League and Primeira Liga double in 2011.

Atlético Madrid acquired Falcao for a club record of €40 million in August 2011. He played an integral role in the club’s 2012 Europa League and Super Cup victories. In 2011–12 and 2012–13, Falcao was the third-highest goalscorer in La Liga behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. In spite of interest from top European clubs, Falcao controversially signed for newly promoted Ligue 1 side Monaco in 2013 for a club record €60 million. He spent the remainder of his debut season on loan at Premier League clubs Manchester United and Chelsea following an ACL injury that forced him to miss six months of play.

He led Monaco to their first Ligue 1 title in 17 years after rejoining them in the summer of 2016. Falcao joined Galatasaray in 2019, before returning to La Liga with Rayo Vallecano in 2021. Since he broke the previous record of 25 goals in June 2017, Falcao has won over 100 caps and scored 35 goals for Colombia, making him their all-time top scorer. In 2011, 2015, and 2019, he represented his country. Falcao missed the 2014 World Cup because of injury, but he made his World Cup debut in 2018.

In 2011, Falcao scored 17 goals in a European campaign, set the record for most goals in an international club competition, and won the Europa League with two teams (Porto in 2011 and Atlético in 2012). He’s Monaco’s highest goal scorer ever (83). In 2012, he made the FIFA FIFPro World XI, finished fifth in the 2012 FIFA Ballon d’Or, and won the Globe Soccer Best Footballer award. Atlético Madrid fans honored Falcao with a plaque outside the Metropolitano Stadium in November 2018.

Early Life And Family Background

‘The Tiger’ is the nickname given to a legendary football poacher by Woodgram, who presents the full story of his life.

With Radamel Falcao Biography Facts, we provide you with a complete account of notable events from his childhood to the present. Falcao’s biography examines his life before fame, his family life, and many OFF and ON-Pitch little-known facts.

Everyone is aware of his ability to score goals. Nevertheless, few soccer fans have read the concise biography of Radamel Falcao, which is quite interesting. Let’s begin now, without further ado.

Radamel Falcao Childhood Life And Family Background

The football legend, Radamel Falcao Garcia Zarate, was born in Santa Marta, Colombia on the 10th of February 1986.

He was born to Radamel Garcia, a former footballer, and Carmenza Zárate, a housekeeper.

Upon his birth, his father named him Falcao in honor of the ex-Brazilian midfielder Paulo Alberto Falcao. His family does not include him.

In ideal circumstances, no member of his family has ever used the name Falcao. Although he could only crawl when he was a child, he watched his dad play football and requested the same size football to be placed at his feet.

His tenacity earned him the nickname “El Tigre” (“The Tiger”) from teammates at Club Atlético River Plate in Buenos Aires, Argentina. As can be seen here, he has grown into a handsome boy with a fine open tooth.

After moving to Club Atlético River Plate in Argentina, he moved to FC Porto in Portugal and Atlético Madrid in Spain, where they finished fifth in the 2012 Ballon d’Or voting.

In Columbia, the Radamel Falcao Family is well-known for its football males and devoted mother.

As with Leroy Sane, Edinson Cavani, and Juan Mata, Radamel Falcao is supported by his father.

About Radamel Falcao Mother

In any case, if we add the fact that Carmenza Zárate is the mother of Radamel Falcao to the name, many will be shocked.

Although she was the wife of a footballer who traveled the world and didn’t settle in one place, she knew how to guide him.

As a footballer, I was willing to help him form, grow, mature, and let him take his own path with free will.

When he was a child, she taught him about Jesus through bedtime stories. The person who always supported Falcao in soccer and in his search for God was his mother.

Radamel Falcao and his mother remain inseparable to this day. Having understood his vocation from an early age, she dedicated her life to accompanying, supporting, and inspiring him.

When her son was criticized in England, the mother of the Colombian striker spoke publicly to put an end to all the rumors.

Carmenza Zárate writes, “The world of football has witnessed Radamel Falcao Garcia’s reign.”

It has been criticized by some and supported by others. It is my pleasure to tell you all that my son will return to his best level as soon as possible. His strength and abilities are in my hands.”

Upon rejoining Monaco, her son returned to his goal-scoring ways.

Lastly, Falcao’s mother graduated from the prestigious National University of Colombia with a degree in Economics.

Someday, she dreams of becoming Minister of Finance for the country. Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Raheem Sterling also received motherly support from Radamel Falcao.

For his part, Radamel Falcao admires his two American sisters, Michelle Andrea and Melanie Grecia, both tennis players.

Due to her talent and trophy wins, Michelle Andrea is the more famous of the two. When Michelle won a major summer tournament, Falcao posted a photo of her on Twitter.

Some Colombian fans lit candles, while others sent death threats to Monts d’Or Azergues defender Soner Ertek, despite publicly apologizing to Falcao via Twitter.
