Harit practices Islam. In 2018, he was engaged in an automobile accident in Marrakesh that resulted in the death of a 30-year-old man. He is married and has two kids, the first of whom is a girl with a name that starts with A. Hamza Mendyl and he are good pals as well.

He entered the game against Rennes in the 59th minute and scored his first goal for OM 12 minutes later. He scored the game-winning goal in a 3-2 victory against Nantes at home on April 20, 2022. He consented to return to Marseille on 1 September 2022 for a season-long loan with the possibility of a permanent transfer.
From the France U18s to the France U21s, Harit played for the national youth teams of France. He turned down a call-up to the Morocco U19s in October 2015. He is of Moroccan heritage. On September 12, 2017, Harit made the decision to support the Moroccan national team instead.
