He is a member of the Peruvian national team as an absolute international. Since 2016, he has been a full international with the Peruvian soccer team, and he was able to participate in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. At the age of nine, Pedro Aquino joined Sporting Cristal. As a 16-year-old, he was promoted to the professional squad by coach Juan Reynoso in 2011.
