Julia Haart is an American fashion designer and businesswoman. She is the CEO of Elite World Group, which she shares with her husband, Silvio Scaglia Haart.
She formerly had her own shoe collection and worked as the creative director of La Perla, an Italian luxury house. Haart was also the subject of the Netflix miniseries My Unorthodox Life, which chronicled her choice to leave her Haredi community in 2013.

Julia Haart Early Life
Julia Haart was born in Moscow, Russia on April 11, 1971 (at the age of 50). She and her parents moved to Austin, Texas, when she was three years old. During her time at the private school in Austin, she was the only Jewish student. When Haart was in fourth grade, her family relocated to Monsey, New York, which has a strong Haredi community that her parents found appealing as they became more religious.
Haart attended Brooklyn’s Bais Yaakov Academy. She learned herself to sew when she was 16 and smuggled fashion magazines into her home. She changed her initial name to the more Hebrew-sounding Talia when she was 18 in order to find a partner. When she was 19, she married her first husband, a yeshiva student five years her senior. Haart became more disenchanted with her community throughout her stay in Atlanta as a Haredi Jew in the 1990s and early 2000s.Her treatment of her younger daughter, Miriam, really disturbed her.
