Jose Calderon Frias, a goalkeeper for Liga National team Xelaj, was born in Panama on August 14, 1985. He played for a number of teams in Panama before leaving the country in 2012 to join Heredia in Guatemala.
Ahead of the 2014 Apertura season, he relocated to Coatepeque. Moreover, after Coatepeque was demoted, Calderón made his resignation from the team official in May 2015.

International Career
One of the few members of the Panama U-20 team, Calderón played in both the 2005 FIFA World Youth Cup in the Netherlands and the 2003 FIFA World Youth Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
On October 27, 2005, he made his senior debut for Panama in a friendly match against Bahrain. Moreover, as of June 1, 2015, he had accumulated 11 caps with no goals. He was chosen as a reserve for the CONCACAF Gold Cups in 2005, 2007, and 2009, however, he did not participate. In 2009, Calderón was a member of the Honduran squad that won the UNCAF Nations Cup.
