He left for Brondby IF the next year and joined the U19 squad, but in the second half of the 2019–20 season, as he made himself a member of the first team, he began to draw notice. Slimane, who holds dual citizenship, has played for both Tunisia U20 and Denmark U19. He is a member of the football squad for Tunisia.

Slimane was born in Copenhagen and spent his formative years in the Vesterbro neighborhood. At the age of 7, he began participating in sports for BK Vestia in Vesterbro, the club closest to his house. After a few months, he relocated to the KB school since a classmate of his played there and his father also coached the squad.
Subsequently, Slimane and his classmate entered the FA 2000 academy along with a few other gifted athletes. Slimane went to several clubs in Copenhagen because some clubs were unwilling to dedicate more resources to developing first teams and second teams for youth football.
When Slimane relocated to Brondby, he was twelve years old. He spent another 1.5 years playing for their academy teams before deciding to return to KB at the under-13 level due to the long journey time from Hje Gladsaxe to Brondby. After Slimane’s second term at KB, however, ended in failure, he started playing for Lyngby Boldklub.
He spent six months playing for Lyngby’s youth team before being signed at the under-14 level by local club Akademisk Boldklub (AB), where he reconnected with his former classmates. Slimane finished his juvenile journeyman career after four years at AB.
He spent four years there, making his first team debut in the club’s last season. In an interview with the Brondby IF website, Slimane discussed how, despite being one of Denmark’s top young football talents in his early years of competition, he had to struggle to break into the professional game due to a variety of factors.
He was on the verge of giving up football during this time, but the support of his loved ones got him through the challenging times. He had a significant growth spurt one summer while playing at the youth academy of AB, growing 15 cm, which helped him become more dominant physically and advance as a player.
Slimane departed for a week-long trial with SC Freiburg of the German Bundesliga in January 2018. He made his first-team debut for AB on April 7, 2018, in a 2-1 home victory against IF Lyseng, replacing Nichlas Rohde in the 80th minute. For AB, Slimane made a total of 18 league games, scoring twice.
After making an impression for the AB first team in the Danish 2nd Division, the third tier of the Danish football pyramid, Slimane joined Brondby IF at the under-19 level in June 2019. He was chosen to attend the Brondby first-team training camp in Portugal in January 2020, where he made his senior team debut in a pre-season friendly against the Swedish team IFK Norrköping, impressing scouts from Arsenal and Manchester United.
Slimane made his professional debut on February 16, 2020, starting a road game against OB in the Danish Superliga, which Brondby won 2-0. The next week, in a 2-3 loss against AaB, he provided his first assist, a cross into the box that Samuel Mráz converted. He scored his first goal for Brondby on March 8, 2020, in a 2-2 draw away to FC Nordsjaelland.
The game was played at Right to Dream Park behind closed doors as a result of regulations put in place by Danish authorities during the COVID-19 epidemic. Slimane lamented not being able to celebrate his goal in front of the crowd after the game.
Slimane extended his deal with Brondby on July 3, 2020, keeping him there through the year 2024. He struggled to get into the starting lineup throughout the first half of the 2020–21 season, but on December 13 against SnderjyskE, he scored the game-winning goal after replacing Simon Hedlund in the 77th minute.
After violating coronavirus quarantine regulations, Slimane was fined and temporarily removed from the Brondby team on February 1, 2021. Slimane said that after picking up a female companion at a party, the cops had arrived. Later, he underwent two COVID-19 negative tests and was added to the first team once more on February 3. On February 7th, he started his comeback game against AaB at home, ending in a 1-1 tie.
In their 2-0 victory over Nordsjaelland on May 24, Brndby’s second goal was scored by Slimane. For the first time in 16 years, the outcome made Brondby the undisputed winners of the Danish Superliga.
On August 17, 2021, Slimane played in his first European match against Red Bull Salzburg in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League play-off. The match finished 1-2 for Red Bull Salzburg. On August 29, he scored his first goal of the year as Brondby defeated Midtjylland 2-0 for their first victory of the year.
Both the Tunisian national under-20 football team and the Danish national under-19 football team have had Slimane on their rosters.
For the two friendlies against Sudan and Nigeria on October 1, 2020, Mondher Kebaier’s senior Tunisia team called up Slimane. In his first game, he scored the third goal in a 3-0 victory over Sudan.
