Rob Minkoff was born on August 11, 1962, in Palo Alto, California, in the United States. He attended Palo Alto High School as a teen before enrolling at the California Institute of the Arts in Santa Clarita. Graduating from the Department of Character Animation in the mid-1980s, he worked on numerous cartoons and movies.
