Prabhu Deva is a well-known Indian dance choreographer, film director, actor, producer. He has worked predominantly in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu language movies. In a career crossing 32 years, he has made and designed a broad range of dance styles and has earned 2 National Film Awards for Best Choreography. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2019 for his contributions to dance.
Prabhu was born into a Ungayat Hindu Family on 3 April 1973 in Mysore, Karnataka. His father’s name is Mugur Sundar, has worked as a choreographer in South-Indian movies and His mother’s name is Mahadevamma. Prabhu has 2 brothers, Raju Sundaram and Nagendra Prasad, both are choreographers. After being in a relationship with Ramlath, Parbhu married him secretly. She even changed her name from Ramlath to Latha. Later, they were blessed with three sons, Vishal, Rishi Raghavendra Deva, and Adhith Deva. On 2 July 2010, the couple got separated, after, Prabhu admitted the rumors of his affair with actress Nayanthara to be sure.

Prabhu Deva starred in numerous commercially successful movies like Minsara Kanavu in 1997 and VIP in 1997, where for the latter he went on to get the National Film Award for Best Choreography for his work in the songs Vennilave and Strawberry Kannae.
