Ilkay Gundogan was born on 24 October 1990 and plays as a midfielder for the Premier League club Manchester City and the German national team. Gundogan was a member of the VfL Bochum youth academy. Before joining the club’s first team, he played for the club’s reserve side in 2008. The following year, FC Nurnberg won the championship.
