Club Career
Sassi began his professional career at CS Sfaxien, where he won the Tunisian League and CAF Confederation Cup in 2013, before moving to the French club Metz in 2015. He returned to Tunisia in 2018 to join ES Tunis before playing for Zamalek in Egypt and Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

International Career
Sassi made his senior national team debut on June 8, 2013, against Sierra Leone (2-2), and he was a member of the starting lineup for the whole contest. He played for Tunisia in their opening match against England at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, scoring a penalty.
