Djibril Sow made his professional debut for Borussia Mönchengladbach on October 25, 2016, against VfB Stuttgart in the second round of the 2016–17 DFB-Pokal. Lars Stindl was replaced by Sow in the 88th minute. Gladbach won the match at home by a score of 2–0.
