Ante Budimir is a Croatian professional footballer who now plays for the Spanish club Osasuna as well as the Croatian national team. He was just nominated to Croatia’s National Team for the Euro 2020 competition.

Budimir was born on July 22, 1991, in Zenica, SR Bosnia and Herzegovina, Yugoslavia (now Croatia). He began training as a child with NK Radnik, a defunct football team in Zagreb County. Three further teams, Lask Linz, NK Sesvete, and HNK Gorica, honed him.

He has played over 40 games for only one club, NK Inter Zapresic. He began playing for the team in 2011 and left in 2013. During this time, he appeared in 66 games and scored 18 goals in all competitions. He then went on to play for Lokomotiva Zagreb, where he made 30 appearances and scored 17 goals.

Crotone and Sampdoria

Ante Budimir was loaned out to Crotone for the rest of the season on September 1, 2015. He made his Crotone debut on September 7, 2015, as a 71st-minute substitute for Pietro De Giorgio in a 4-0 loss to Cagliari Calcio.

Crotone exercised their €1 million buyout option on the player in March 2016. Budimir finished the season as Crotone’s top goalscorer, with 16 goals in 40 Serie B appearances as they finished second to Cagliari for promotion; this tally was fourth for goalscorers in the entire league season.
