Chelsea Transfer Controversy: Alex Sandro Bid Reportedly Rejected

Sandro, Conte’s “top target,” was the subject of another offer from the west London club, but the deal was rejected, and club director Giuseppe Marotta commented: “He said he wanted to stay here, so we sent them back where they came from.”

As a result, the Premier League champions already signed a left wing-back last summer, signing Marcos Alonso from Fiorentina to satisfy Conte’s need for a well-rounded left wing-back. According to Marotta, Juventus are under no pressure to sell Brazil’s international Sandro to Chelsea.

Reports conflicts with the €80 million (£73 million) Chelsea are reported to have already offered in their third bid for Sandro this summer, according to online sources. After moving to Turin from Porto in 2015, he established himself as one of Europe’s best defenders in his position, rivaling Real Madrid talisman Marcelo for a starting position in Brazil’s national team.

The Bianconeri remain steadfast in their stance, so Chelsea boss Conte is unlikely to land his man, though Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol did detail one method by which a transfer might occur. Conte has maintained an interest in his old stomping grounds, seeking to bolster his resources. He has already signed one Serie A defender this summer in the form of AS Roma defender Antonio Rudiger.

However, online sources pointed out further evidence why Juve would be hesitant to sell, having already seen Dani Alves and Leonardo Bonucci leave for pastures new in recent months. Adam Crafton and Ian Herbert of the Daily Mail reported that Willian is “fearful” he might follow outcast striker Diego Costa in being set adrift by Conte, who is said to not entirely trust his winger.

Willian sympathizes with Costa, who was told by Conte he could leave the club via text message. In spite of that, the Telegraph’s James Ducker picked out Willian as a special mention in last Saturday’s 3-2 defeat to Burnley. Since joining Stamford Bridge, Willian has often been forced to settle for a bit-part role, with Eden Hazard and Pedro often overshadowing him, and a rejuvenated Victor Moses posing stiff competition for his signature.

According to online sources confirmed that Willian told Goal that Jose Mourinho was hoping to get back together with him at Old Trafford, an opportunity that could be on the table in the future.
