Trent Lucas Sainsbury (born 5 January 1992) is an Australian professional footballer who plays for the Qatari club Al-Wakrah and the Australian national team. Originally from Thornlie, Western Australia, Sainsbury moved to Perth in his early years. During his school years, he attended Forest Crescent Primary School and Kelmscott Senior High School. In Armadale, Western Australia, Trent began playing soccer at a very young age.

Sainsbury also holds a UK passport in addition to his Australian passport. He is married to Elissa Arnold, the daughter of Graham Arnold, the current Socceroos coach. During his time with the Australian national team, Sainsbury has made over forty appearances and scored three goals. He was a member of the Australian team that won the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.
