Tom T. Hall was born in the United States on May 25, 1936, in Olive Hill, Kentucky. He hasn’t given enough information about his parents and childhood. His father, though, was a bricklaying minister, according to some sources. He used the G. I. Bill to attend Roanoke College for his studies.
