Life Journey

Our Moussa Diaby Biography tells you Facts about his Childhood Story, Early Life, Parents, Family, Siblings, and Wife (1-lawa). More so, the Speedy winger’s Lifestyle, Personal Life and Net Worth. In a nutshell, this memoir explains the Full Life History of Moussa Diaby.

A boy of Malian origin, who fought his way up, through the help of a migrant football program. This is the story of an intelligent footballer who left his comfort zone to create his own success.

Woodgram’s version of Moussa Diaby’s Bio begins by telling you a series of notable events from his Early Days in Paris, France. We then unveil to you the turning point that gave rise to his childhood football success. And then, the bold decisions he made in senior football.

To whet your autobiography appetitive on how engaging Moussa Diaby’s Bio would be, we’ve made it necessary to present you his Early Life and Success Gallery. Behold, the sweet boyhood days and the German rise of the French speedster.

If you haven’t watched Moussa play football, then I’ll tell you his major strength by far is pace. And some fans have said he is one of the world’s best footballers when it comes to making counter-attacks.

Despite the praises of his name, we notice a gap. That not many football fans have taken time to read a concise version of Moussa Diaby’s Biography. This is why Woodgram has prepared it. Now, without further ado, let’s begin with the events of his Early Life.

For Biography starters, the French footballers bear the nickname – Mr. Fast and Furious. This is because he is very fast on the pitch. Moussa Diaby was born on the 7th day of July 1999, to a Malian mother in Paris, France.

The French winger didn’t come to the world as the only child to his parents. The Research we made has it that Moussa has an older brother with whom he spent a vital part of his childhood.

Every day of their lives, both the footballer and his brother give thanks to almighty Allah for being a product of these two people – pictured below. We are talking about Moussa Diaby’s parents. The persons who have infected him most with their intelligence and love.

Allah bestowed upon Moussa Diaby, right from his childhood, the natural gift of kicking the ball. As a boy, nobody saw him train hard to learn how to dribble.

Moussa never practiced football or learn how to run fast with it. In fact, he was born with it. Football came to him as a natural gift. Mousa Diaby’s Early days were focused on playing futsal for fun. This happens each time he spends with his childhood friends.

Back then, the boy got a passion for 11-a-side football. Futsal helped to develop Moussa’s technical quality, especially his movements in small spaces.

The French professional footballer is from a below middle-class home. Upon relocating to France from Mali, Moussa Diaby’s parents could only afford to settle in Rue du Maroc. This is a Paris suburb plagued by drug addicts, who wander around and create havoc.

It is obvious that many migrants from Africa who get stranded in France often end up loitering around Rue du Maroc and falling into crack cocaine. At night, Moussa’s childhood neighborhood often looks like a scene in the Walking Dead movie series.

Instead of accepting that crime in Rue du Maroc is inevitable, Mousa Diaby’s Dad and Mum taught their children that hard work can deter and prevent crime. Thankfully, both boys, especially Moussa, strived to make his parents proud. Here is one of such proud moments.

Although born in France (his nationality), the footballer has West African roots. Moussa Diaby’s parents, like many others, left Mali for France to find long-term employment. Upon relocation, they found shelter among the Mali migrant community in Rue du Maroc, a suburb of Paris.

From an ethnic point of view, we classify Moussa Diaby under the Bambara (Bamana) Malian ethnic group. The language of this group predominates others like – Fulani (Fulbe), Dogon, and Tuareg.

Lastly, there are two things you might not know about Moussa Diaby’s African origin. The first is the fact about Mali, the country of his ancestors. This landlocked country has the highest percentage of migrants from African states – who are legal residents in France.

Secondly, they are many footballers of Malian African family origin and identification you probably don’t know about. They include Yves Bissouma, N’Golo Kante, Moussa Dembele (French), Alassane Plea, Ibrahima Kanoute, Mousa Dembele (Belgian), and Moussa Sissoko.

The French-born Malian is someone that benefited a lot from football schooling values. With a total focus on becoming a footballer, Moussa Diaby’s education was more football-bound. As a child, he honed his football craft right here – in this field. This is where he laid his career foundation.

The Les Bleus star owes special gratitude to Moustapha Guerache, the man who gave him the opportunity to mold his career path. At 44 years old, this man once divided his time between his job as a high school math teacher, and as the president of Esperance academy.

Moussa Diaby got schooled in a football way, with this academy named – Esperance Paris 19th. This neighborhood football school is a breeding ground for many young talents in the northeast of Paris – as well as on the border of Seine-Saint-Denis.

Moustapha Guerache, a good-hearted man, operated this academy at that time. He had the vision of creating a place where the children of African immigrants could play soccer. Moussa Diaby fell in this category as well as other notable persons from migrant families.

In case you’re not aware, the likes of Nicolas Pepe passed through this program. Other notable names are; Antoine Bernede (RB Salzburg), Georges-Kevin Nkoudou (Be5ikta5) and Evan Ndicka (Eintracht) – to name a few.

He was often praised by fans for his ability to do devastating dribbles with his team. The natural ability of Moussa made him the most promising kid in his age group. Rising star began as a striker, but his coach made him play other positions to help out his team. During his Early Days as a Fast Rising Footballer, this is Moussa.

It was a memorable match – the final of a big tournament. Moussa Diaby’s team played against Solitaire, one of Esperance Paris 19th’s biggest rivals. The game was watched by important dignitaries, and it started on a sad note for his team.

Moussa Diaby’s team was losing by four goals to one at halftime. The scoreline ended fans’ hopes of them equalizing, much less of Esperance Paris winning. The match was single-handedly won by Mousa Diaby in the second half much to the shock of everyone. Diaby scored four goals in the second half.

Esperance Paris 19th won by a total of six goals to five thanks to a quadruple from Moussa Diaby and a double from Youssouf Diaby.

Early Life

Roman Arkadyevich Abramovich was born in Saratov, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union, on October 24, 1966. (present-day Saratov, Russia). His Jewish ancestors passed away when he was a small boy. Irina, his mother, was a music instructor who passed away when Abramovich was just a year old.

When he was three years old, his father, Aaron Abramovich Leibovich (1937–1969), who had served in the Komi ASSR’s economic council, went away. Vasily Mikhailenko and Faina Borisovna Grutman, who were both born in Ukraine, were Roman’s maternal grandparents.

When World War II first broke out, Roman’s maternal grandmother fled from Ukraine to Saratov. Irina was three years old at the time. Nachman Leibovich and Toybe (Tatyana) Stepanovna Abramovich, Roman’s grandparents, were Jewish Belarusians. After the revolution, which forced them to leave Belarus, they settled in Tauranga, Lithuania; the family name is spelt Abramaviius in Lithuanian.

Lithuania was conquered by the Soviet Union (USSR) in 1940. The Soviets “removed the anti-Soviet, criminal, and socially harmful element” just before the Nazi German invasion of the USSR by sending entire families to Siberia. When they were deported, Abramovich’s grandparents were split up.

Leib, Abram, and Aron (Arkady), the father, mother, and kids, were in separate vehicles. In the camps, many deportees perished. His granddad was one among them. Nachman Leibovich died in the NKVD camp in the Krasnoyarsk Territory community of Resheti in 1942.

Abramovich was raised by relatives and spent a large portion of his youth in the northern Russian Komi Republic after losing both of his parents before the age of four. Abramovich is also a trustee for the Moscow Jewish Museum and the chairman of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia.

Abramovich made the decision to create a forest of about 25,000 new and restored trees in honour of Lithuania’s Jews who perished in the Holocaust. He also decided to create a virtual memorial and tribute to Lithuanian Jewry (Seed a Memory) that would allow people from all over the world to remember the lives of their ancestors by naming a tree and adding their names to the memorial.

When Roman acquired control of the industry and applied his commercial acumen, the infamous Russian “Aluminum War”—which had been the subject of numerous murders—came to an end, and he was declared the single victor.

Roman acquired the majority of the businesses that owned Chelsea Football Club in June 2003. At the time, Chelsea was regarded as one of the worst football teams. Additionally, he made a sizable payment towards the restoration of Altona’s Jewish cemetery, which is today a Hamburg neighbourhood. In collaboration with Hamburg’s Chabad, B’nai B’rith International Portugal is carrying out the project.

Along with Michael Kadoorie and Jacob Safra, Abramovich is one of the major donors to the Portuguese Jewish community and B’nai B’rith International Portugal. He also contributes money to the Chabad movement.

A broad programme in Israel that hosts football practise sessions for Jewish and Arab kids is funded by Abramovich. Through football, more than 1,000 Arab and Jewish children will be brought together annually. Chelsea will pay for the expanded setup and will provide local coaches with training.

By integrating communities in Israel, the enlarged Playing Fair, Leading Peace programme will dismantle obstacles and fight discrimination. Abramovich paid for NHS personnel to stay at the Stamford Bridge Millennium Hotel in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Roman Abramovich Net Worth

Forbes estimates that Abramovich’s net worth was $16 billion in 2022, making him the richest person in Portugal, the second-richest person in Israel, and the eleventh-richest person in Russia.

In the years that followed the fall of the Soviet Union in the 1990s, Abramovich amassed wealth by purchasing state-owned Russian assets at rates much below market value under Russia’s contentious loans-for-shares privatisation programme.

Abramovich, who was ranked as the 155th richest person in the world by Forbes as of March 2016, had a net worth of $7.6 billion at the time. He was regarded as the second-richest person living in the UK prior to the 2008 financial crisis.

The Times reported at the beginning of 2009 that he had lost £3 billion of his $11.7 billion in wealth as a result of the world economic crisis. Vladislav Sviblov purchased Highland Gold, a gold miner, from Abramovich in the summer of 2020. His net worth was reported as US$14.5 billion by Forbes on 5 March 2021, placing him at position 113 on the Forbes Billionaires 2020 list.

Abramovich was connected to the 67-metre yacht Garçon, anchored in Antigua, according to a 2022 Financial Times article. For £90 million in 2009, he acquired the 15-bedroom home at 16 Kensington Palace Gardens in London.

Four Upper East Side residences at 9, 11, 13, and 15 East 75th Street in Manhattan, New York City, were bought by Abramovich for $74 million. These townhouses will be joined to create a megamansion that will be 19,400 square feet, with restoration costs expected to add an extra $100 million.

Eclipse 162.5 m (533 ft) high – She was launched in September 2009 after being constructed in Germany by Blohm + Voss. The boat was supposed to be delivered to Abramovich in December 2009, however, this was postponed for nearly a year due to rigorous sea trials. Terence Disdale created both the yacht’s appearance and interior.

Solaris

The 180 m (590 ft) Azzam, which cost an estimated $400 million, surpassed Eclipse in 2013 as the largest privately owned yacht in the world.

At least two swimming pools, a movie theatre, two helicopter landing pads, a number of onboard tenders, and a submarine that can be launched and dive to a depth of 160 feet are all included in the specification. Additionally, she has bulletproof windows and armour protection around the bridge and Abramovich’s master bedroom.

No, it definitely doesn’t. There are so many well-made movies. I haven’t seen The Lunchbox or The Good Road. But there’s this Marathi movie called ‘FANDRY’ which I think was Oscar material. If a mainstream movie has to be considered, then Lootera was very good.

Life Journey

Timothy Castagne’s Biography includes information about his Childhood, Early Years, Parents, Family, Wife, and Sisters. The lifestyle, personal life, and net worth of a footballer are more important. In a nutshell, we present to you the Life History of a Belgian football superstar who has both natural talent and his father’s genes at his disposal.

Woodgram’s version of the Defender’s Story begins at the beginning of his career until Leicester and Belgium made him famous. You can view Timothy Castagne’s Boyhood to Success gallery here to whet your appetite for his biography. His Life Journey is clearly reflected in what we have here without a doubt.

Brendan Rodgers is Damn Good at many things. One of them is signing quality players, such as Timothy Castagne. From now Belgian has lived up to the hype surrounding his name out of nowhere. Although Timothy Castagne’s biography received many accolades, only a few of his fans took the time to read it. We decided to take the time to write it because of our love for soccer. And now without further ado, let us begin.

He is known by the nickname Tim in his biography. Mr. and Mrs. Pierre Castagne, from Arlon, a town in Belgium, gave birth to Timothy Castagne on the 5th day of December 1995.

He was the first child and only son in a family of three children – a boy and two girls). All of his children are the result of the union between his mother and father (Pierre).

As a child, Timothy Castagne enjoyed a blissful childhood spent with his best friend, who also happens to be his beloved sister, Noemie. Since the very beginning, Timothy has been a role model to Noemie. Timothy Castagne’s parents decided to have a second child after a decade and some years had passed.

Tim and Noemie made the decision when they were teenagers. I must say that having Emmi as a member of the family was an incredible experience for us all. From the Belgian perspective, the feeling of having Emmi in your life is a priceless treasure for every single member of the family. The beautiful Emmi still remains the bonafide baby of the house at the time of writing this biography.

The son of the former Luxembourg Golden Boot winner, Timothy is the subject of numerous sporting websites. The father of Nicolai happened to be a professional footballer who, not only once, but twice, was one of the top scorers in Luxembourg during the 90s. Unlike his other brother – Romelu Lukaku – Timothy Castagne didn’t grow up poor. Both Timothy Castagne and Romelu were once footballers. However, unlike Romelu, Timothy Castagne’s father wisely invested his money.

Pierre did more than just provide for his family. He became a role model to his children – especially Timothy. The footballer’s ancestry can be traced back to Arlon. It is the capital of Luxembourg, the southernmost Belgian province. Approximately 30,000 people live in Arlon, and it is the Belgian border with Luxembourg.

Timothy Castagne’s relatives speak Luxembourgish, a traditional West Germanic language. It is primarily spoken in Southern Belgium and Luxembourg. He combined academic learning with professional football training at an early age. From an early age, Tim displayed versatility and was very adept at juggling multiple priorities.

Growing up, the Belgian had one goal: to follow in his father’s footsteps. When Pierre Castagne retired from football, it was hard for him. Because of this, Timothy hoped to follow in his Dad’s footsteps as a football player. Castagne attended a boarding school in the Belgian city of Liege, according to research. A mighty club in Belgium, Standard Liege, allowed him to train with their youth teams.

Castagne joined SB Waltzing-Bonnert’s adolescent soccer team in 2004. A year later, the youngster started playing for the young Lorrain Arlon during weekends.

Timothy’s experience playing youth soccer at Lorrain Arlon earned him the right to attend a trial at a top academy, Virton. This young man passed their trials with flying colors. He rose to become Virton’s best player in his age grade.

His greatest dream was to become a member of the Premier League. In case you didn’t know, the 12-year-old was a big fan of Arsenal and Thierry Henry. During that time, Castagne wanted to play at Highbury Stadium. The largest dub in the province where Timothy Castagne’s fans live is Virtuton. Consequently, the Belgian community grew rapidly there.

He developed into a polyvalent at the club. Considering his speed – which he possesses in abundance – Tim could play any position well. Scouts were attracted by Genk’s rapid growth, development, and exploration. The Racing Club met with Timothy Castagne’s parents to discuss his transfer, which was approved.

For the young Belgian, things just kept getting better when he joined Genk. Timothy Castagne had no bounds of joy in 2013 when he got a national Belgian 018 call. At this time, our boy was trying to wrap up playing academy football.

Injury And Rise To Fame

Tim Castagne had a problematic and unfortunate start to his professional career. In mid-April 2015, he collided with a Waasland-Beveren player during a match in the Jupiler Pro League.

Timothy received a mild concussion after the collision, which he initially thought was nothing to worry about.
A few months later (around December 2015), the same injury returned to haunt him. An opponent fouled him during a match, which triggered an old injury.

Timothy Castagne Injury

Timothy Castagne Injury

In that match, Timothy was substituted at 37 minutes due to a serious injury – with Genk medics rushing to his aid. Sadly, Castagne was sidelined for more than a year by that injury.

Castagne continued to experience headaches and vision problems even after he recovered. Racing Genk’s medical staff decided at this point to take additional medical tests to determine the exact cause of the injury. The medics advised Timothy to rest more until these results are known. While the Belgian continues to train, he avoids making competitions and duels. These were the most challenging moments of his career.

Following a return from injury, the Belgian left a good impression with Genk’s first team. As the most versatile player in the Belgian Pro League, he attracted many top clubs around Europe. Timothy joined Serie A club Atalanta in July 2017 for €6 million. In his first season, the rising Belgian star excelled – even achieving significant improvements in his second.

In Castagne’s opinion, he was ready for a new challenge after spending three years with Atalanta. Pierre Castagne, like his father, sprang into action in an effort to get his son the best deal. Spurs were the favorite to sign the versatile Defender when Jose Mourinho took over. As we know him, the Portuguese devised all means to capture him. Mourinho even conducted a video conference with Timothy Castagne’s father, according to research.

During that conversation, Pierre Castagne observed that Tottenham Hotspurs could not afford to hire his son. At this point, Mourinho considered selling Aurier to meet up Timothy’s price.

Life Journey

Born in Wortley, Leeds, Milner spent most of his childhood playing football at Westbrook Lane Primary School in Horsforth. Milner attended Horsforth School for his secondary education. Graeme Coulson, a Rawdon coach, recognized Milner’s talent and persuaded him to play for Rawdon in several tournaments, including one at Rawdon Meadows, where Milner scored four goals in their win.

Milner achieved 11 GCSEs and an award in physical education at his school; he was described as a “first-class” student. Milner played cricket for the Yorkshire Schools team, was the cross-country champion at his school for three consecutive years, and the district champion over 100 meters for two years running. At Boston Spa School, a sports college affiliated with the football club, he completed his studies.

From a young age, Milner supported his hometown club Leeds United. The first memory he has of the team is of them winning the FA Youth Cup in 1993. Milner and his parents, Peter and Lesley, were season ticket holders. Milner later became a ball boy for the club.

After being spotted by a scout while playing for Westbrook Juniors in Horsforth, Milner joined the Leeds United Academy at the age of 10. Milner played against contemporaries from other clubs in Northern England, including the future Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney. Leeds-born Alan Smith, then a Leeds United striker, was his role model.

He believed playing with Smith put him through a learning curve, as Smith had achieved what he had aspired to incoming through the academy and playing for the first team. Milner was hired as a trainee after leaving the Academy after making good progress there. To continue his education, his father, however, insisted he attend college once a week.

Milner continued to play for England’s under-15 and under-17 teams while in the youth team. His goal against Brazil helped England’s under-17 team win the Nationwide summer tournament against Italy, the Czech Republic, and Brazil in 2002.

Club Career

Leeds United

  • Leeds’ first-team debut for Milner came on 10 November 2002, when he came on as a substitute for Jason Wilcox for the last six minutes of the match against West Ham United. At 16 years and 309 days, he became the second-youngest player in Premier League history.
  • With a goal in a 2 – 1 win against Sunderland on 26 December 2002, he became the youngest player to score in the Premier League at 16 years and 356 days. James Vaughan of Everton broke his record in 2005. Two days later, Milner scored again, using a deft first touch of the ball and maneuver to avoid a tackle by Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly. With this maneuver, he created a yard of space for him to deliver a curling shot from 18 yards (16 m).
  • Leeds signed Milner to a five-year contract on 10 February 2003 after he made more appearances for them. Milner spent one month on loan with Swindon Town during the 2003 – 04 season to gain experience as a first-team player. As a player, he saw it as a valuable experience.
  • In contrast, Leeds’ fortunes were in decline; the team became the subject of numerous negative stories in the media, and several first-team players were sold.
  • The club’s eventual relegation to the Championship led to speculation about Milner’s future. Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Everton have all expressed interest in signing him. Ultimately, Villa and Everton failed to make an offer, and Milner rejected an offer from Tottenham due to their location being too far from his family home.
  • Leeds insisted he would not be sold, with chairman Gerald Krasner describing him as “the future of Leeds”. Nevertheless, financial problems forced Leeds to sell Milner to Newcastle United for £5 million. Milner did not want to leave the club he supported as a child, however, he wanted to do what was “in the club’s best interest” and in July 2004 he signed a five-year contract with Newcastle.

Newcastle United

  • On Newcastle United’s pre-season tour of Asia, Milner scored his first goal for the club in a 1 – 1 draw against Kitchee in Hong Kong. He observed how Newcastle striker Alan Shearer handled attention from fans and the media during this tour.
  • On 18 August 2004, Milner played his first Premier League match for Newcastle against Middlesbrough as a winger, despite having played on the left for Leeds.
  • During Newcastle’s UEFA Cup match against Bnei Sakhnin from Israel, he made his UEFA Cup debut after coming on as a substitute for Shola Ameobi. Also as a substitute, he scored his first competitive goal for the club in a 3 – 1 win against West Bromwich Albion.
  • Despite starting 13 league matches under Souness, he did not play his first Premier League match for Newcastle until April 2005. Milner was frustrated by not being a starter for most of the season.
  • Milner scored in Newcastle’s 3 – 1 away win against FK ZTS Dubnica in the UEFA Intertoto Cup at the start of the 2005 – 06 season and provided the assist for the team’s third goal through Alan Shearer.

Loan to Aston Villa

  • Newcastle’s purchase of Nolberto Solano from Aston Villa resulted in Milner being loaned to Villa for the remainder of the season. Milner was acquired in this deal by David O’Leary, who worked with Milner at Leeds, and who said he hoped Villa would improve him as a player.
  • In a Premier League match against West Ham United on 12 September 2005, he made his Villa debut. Five days later, he scored his first goal for the club in a 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur. The following week, he scored two goals in a second-half comeback against Wycombe Wanderers to help his team recover from being 3 – 1 down at halftime.
  • Milner remained optimistic about his team throughout the season. Villa will recover from their poor start to the season, and he praised the quality of their squad.
  • Villa fans generally regarded Milner as a positive signing during a disappointing season. Milner himself also saw the loan move positively, saying that he would like to join Villa permanently because of the possibility of becoming a regular starter, but that the possibility was beyond his control.
  • Newcastle manager Glenn Roeder appeared to appreciate Milner’s skills more than Souness and wanted him to remain at the club. In addition to O’Leary’s departure and the lack of transfer funds at Villa, a deal for Milner to sign permanently seemed unlikely.
  • When Villa rejected an offer of Milner as part of a trade for Gareth Barry in June, it became even less likely. The deal was revived when Randy Lerner acquired Villa, and Martin O’Neill was appointed manager. Villa were apparently close to signing Milner, but Newcastle recalled him at the last minute and the deal collapsed.

Return to Newcastle United

  • Milner’s return to Newcastle was welcomed by the players and manager Glenn Roeder at the start of the 2006 – 07 season. For the entire season, Milner started for Newcastle.
  • Despite Newcastle’s poor start in the 2006 – 07 Premier League, Milner played a major role in helping the Magpies reach the round of 16 of the UEFA Cup, playing all but one of the Magpies’ 12 games. Milner and Roeder both denied the rumors that he would be sold in the January transfer window.
  • In a 2 – 2 draw with Manchester United on 1 January 2007, Milner scored his first goal of the season. A “stunning” shot from 25 yards (23 meters) away resulted in the goal. During the next three weeks, he scored two more goals, against Birmingham City and then against West Ham United.
  • During the season, Milner displayed his ability to play in a range of different positions by scoring and setting up goals from both sides. Milner signed a new contract with Newcastle in January, securing his future at the club until 2011. In May 2007, when Sam Allardyce took over as Newcastle manager, he signed a new four-year contract.
  • He scored Newcastle’s 500th Premier League goal against Tottenham Hotspur in late October. A shot intended as a cross provided a fortunate second Premier League goal of the season in the Tyne-Wear derby. During the season, Allardyce praised Milner, calling him “a highly experienced Premier League player”.
  • In May 2008, it was rumored that Milner would be part of a transfer between Newcastle and Liverpool after missing the final nine matches of the season due to a foot injury.
  • Despite starting the season for Newcastle and scoring against Coventry City in the League Cup, it was revealed after the match that Milner had submitted a transfer request the week before.

Aston Villa

  • Aston Villa signed Milner on 29 August 2008 for £12 million and he signed a four-year contract. As a second-half substitute against Liverpool, Milner made his Villa debut on 31 August 2008.
  • The first goals of his second spell at Villa came in a third-round FA Cup tie against Gillingham at Priestfield Stadium on 4 January 2009 on his 23rd birthday, where he scored both goals in a 2 – 1 win for Villa.
  • In his second spell at Villa, Milner scored his first Premier League goal in a 2 – 1 victory over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on 17 January 2009. Milner was named to England’s senior team for the first time in February 2009, after impressing England manager Fabio Capello during his time at club level.
  • On 7 February, Milner scored his second league goal of the season against Blackburn Rovers. A 25-yard free-kick on 12 April helped Villa come back from a 3 – 1 deficit to draw 3 – 3 against Everton at home. Despite being only 23 years old, he has played for thirteen different managers and caretakers so far in his career.
  • Milner moved into central midfield after the sale of Gareth Barry to Manchester City at the start of the 2009 – 10 season. In the 2010 League Cup Final, he scored the opening goal with a penalty.
  • Manchester United defeated Villa 2 – 1. Milner finished the season with 12 goals and was named Aston Villa’s Fan’s Player of the Year and the PFA Young Player of the Year.
  • Manchester City offered £20 million for Milner on 19 May 2010. This offer was rejected. Martin O’Neill stated on 22 July 2010 that Milner had shown a desire to leave Villa for City, but would only be sold at Villa’s valuation.
  • Even though he was on the verge of a move to Manchester City, Milner played in Villa’s first match of the season against West Ham United, scoring Villa’s third goal. Milner received a standing ovation when he was substituted near the end of the match.

Manchester City

  • It was reported on 17 August 2010 that Aston Villa and Manchester City had agreed to sell Milner subject to a medical. The deal was reported to be worth around £26 million, which included the transfer of Stephen Ireland.
  • He made his debut for City on 23 August 2010 in a 3 – 0 home win against Liverpool, where he set up former Villa teammate Gareth Barry’s first goal. In Manchester City’s FA Cup third-round tie with Leicester City which ended in a 2 – 2 draw, Milner scored his first competitive goal for the club.
  • On 24 September 2011, Milner scored his first Premier League goal for Manchester City against Everton. He scored his second against former club Aston Villa in a 4 – 1 victory two matches later.
  • Manchester City won the Manchester derby 6 – 1 the following week, inflicting the heaviest home league loss on Manchester United since 1930. Milner assisted on both goals. During the 2011 – 12 season, Milner made 26 Premier League appearances as Manchester City won the league title for the first time in 44 years.
  • As City beat Chelsea at Villa Park in August 2012, Milner won his first Community Shield. Milner scored his first goal of the season on 6 October 2012 from a free-kick to seal a 3 – 0 win against Sunderland. In a 2 – 1 win over West Bromwich Albion on 20 October, he received his first Premier League red card.
  • In January 2013, he scored City’s opening goal in a 2 – 0 away win at Arsenal, the first time a City player had scored away from Arsenal in the league since 2007 and City’s first win over Arsenal since 1975.
  • In the Manchester derby on 8 April, he scored as Manchester City defeated Manchester United 2 – 1 at Old Trafford.
  • He became the first English player to score for Manchester City in the competition that season when he scored the winning goal in a 3 – 2 victory against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in the UEFA Champions League on 10 December 2013.

  • With his assist on Roberto Firmino’s second goal in the 5 – 2 semi-final, first-leg win over Roma on 24 April 2018, Milner became the first player in Champions League history to provide 9 assists in a single season.
  • Milner scored his 50th Premier League goal during a 1-1 draw with Arsenal in November 2018. When he won 4 – 0 at Bournemouth the following month, Milner became just the 13th player (and the second youngest after former Aston Villa, Man City, and England teammate Gareth Barry) in Premier League history to reach 500 appearances.
  • Milner won his first Champions League title on 1 June 2019. He came on as a substitute in Liverpool’s 2 – 0 win over Tottenham in the final.
