  • Halle accepted a significantly smaller paycheck, $600,000, to star in Monster’s Ball. She would go on to win the Academy Award for Best Actress for the film which was released in 2001.
  • The following year she earned $4 million to star in the James Bond movie Die Another Day. She then earned $6 million for her role in 2003’s Gothika.
  • In 2004, Halle earned her largest single career paycheck when she was paid $14 million – the same as $19 million in today’s dollars – to star in the rebooted Catwoman.
  • From this point on, Halle has consistently earned $10-12 million per major film role. She was consistently one of the highest-paid actresses in the world in the 2000s.

Halle Berry Movies And TV Shows

  • As the 1980s turned into the ’90s, the aspiring actress began a career in television with a role on the short-lived sitcom Living Dolls (1989), followed by a year-long run on the CBS prime-time drama Knots Landing, in 1991.
  • Berry’s first big-screen break came later that year when she was cast as Samuel L. Jackson’s drug-addicted girlfriend in Spike Lee’s critically acclaimed film Jungle Fever.
  • More substantial supporting roles followed, including that of a stripper in the action-thriller The Last Boy Scout (1991), starring Bruce Willis, and as the woman who finally wins the heart of Eddie Murphy in the romantic comedy Boomerang (1992).
  • With a few films under her belt, Berry accepted more offbeat roles, making cameos in the rockumentary CB4 (1993), which traced the rise and fall of a rap group by the same name. In 1994, the live-action version of The Flintstones featured Berry as a Stone-Age seductress.
  • Berry offered a no-holds-barred performance as a rehabilitated crack addict seeking to regain custody of her son in Losing Isaiah (1995). Berry, who played opposite Jessica Lange and David Strathairn, was noted for her believable portrayal of a mother struggling with addiction and loss.
  • Later that year, Berry overcame Hollywood’s racial barriers when she was cast as the first African American to play the Queen of Sheba, in the Showtime movie Solomon & Sheba.
  • Berry’s acting credits the next year included two 1996 crime thrillers: The Rich Man’s Wife, and Executive Decision. The latter film marked Berry’s first leading role in a feature.
  • In 1998, she took a turn as one of three wives laying claim to Frankie Lyman’s estate in the biographical drama Why Do Fools Fall in Love?, and then played a liberal urban youth in the political satire Bulworth, opposite Hollywood veteran Warren Beatty.
  • In 1999, Berry released her most passionate project to date, co-producing and starring in Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, an HBO biopic. Berry was noted for her striking resemblance to the late Dorothy Dandridge, and for her engaging depiction of the actress’s struggle to succeed in the racially biased industry of 1950s Hollywood.
  • Berry earned both a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for Best Actress in a Television Movie for her role.
  • Berry continued to star in blockbuster hits, including X-Men (2000), the big-budget screen adaptation of the long-running Marvel Comic. In the highly anticipated summer release, Berry’s character, Storm, teamed up with fellow mutant heroes played by Anna Paquin and Patrick Stewart. She reprised her role as Storm in X2 (2003), X-Men: The Final Stand (2006), and X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014).
  • Berry garnered the most positive critical notice of her film career in the 2001 dark drama Monster’s Ball. Berry played the wife of a death row prisoner (Sean “Puffy” Combs) who becomes romantically involved with a racist prison guard (Billy Bob Thornton).
  • The role earned Berry a Golden Globe nomination for best actress in a drama as well as the Academy Award for best actress. In her emotional acceptance speech, Berry acknowledged the honor of becoming the first African American woman to win the Oscar for best actress by thanking all the performers who came before her.
  • Also in 2001, Berry co-starred with John Travolta in the action movie Swordfish. Audiences did not respond positively to the film, and publicity for the movie centered mostly around Berry’s topless scene, for which the actress was allegedly paid a $500,000 bonus.
  • In 2002, Berry joined the ranks of the legendary “Bond Girls” as the character Jinx in the hit James Bond spy adventure Die Another Day.
  • She then starred in the horror flick Gothika (2003), which drew mostly tepid reviews but fared well at the box office. However, her talents did little to save the adaptation of DC Comics’ Catwoman (2004), a commercial and critical flop.
  • In 2005, Berry took the lead in the TV adaptation of Zora Neale Hurston’s classic 1937 novel, Their Eyes Were Watching God, which was produced by Oprah Winfrey’s production company, Harpo. She also lent her voice for the CGI cartoon project, Robots.
  • In 2007, the actress starred in the heart-racing thriller Perfect Stranger, alongside Willis. Following a series of smaller films, she reemerged for the Wachowski siblings’ Cloud Atlas (2012), playing numerous characters across the time-traveling epic.
  • In July 2014, Berry took to the small screen with a starring role in the CBS sci-fi series Extant. In the Steven Spielberg-produced series, she plays an astronaut who returns to earth pregnant after a 13-month solo space mission.
  • In 2017, Berry starred in the abduction thriller Kidnap and was among the supporting players in the action-comedy Kingsman: The Golden Circle. In 2019, she co-starred in another action franchise sequel, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, and served as executive producer of the BET series Boomerang, based on her earlier film.

Football Career

  • In 2011, Mané joined Metz, which had a partnership with Generation Foot. At the age of 24, he made his professional debut on 14 January 2012, replacing Kévin Diaz in the 75th minute of a 0–1 home defeat against Bastia in Ligue 2. He made 19 appearances in his first league season, 12 as a starter, and scored a solitary goal in a 2–5 loss to Guingamp at the Stade Saint-Symphorien on 4 May. Metz was relegated to the Championnat National at the end of the season.
  • On 31 August 2012, Mané moved to Austrian Bundesliga side Red Bull Salzburg for the third highest fee ever paid to FC Metz. The fee was estimated at €4 million. In the third round of the Austrian Cup on 31 October, he scored his first hat-trick for the club in a 3–1 away victory over SC Kalsdorf.
  • He scored his first hat-trick in the Austrian Bundesliga on 27 October 2013, in a 3–0 win away to Grödig. A second treble followed on 7 May 2014 when Salzburg won 7–0 at Horn in the cup semi-finals; the season ended with the team winning a domestic double. At the end of August 2014, Mané forced a transfer out of the club, by failing to turn up for training and the top match of Salzburg’s season in order to qualify for the Champions League.
  • Mané moved to Southampton from Monaco on 1 September 2014 for a fee of £11.8 million, a four-year contract. Southampton’s first goal came from a penalty he won in a 2–1 League Cup victory over Arsenal 22 days later.
  • On 27 September, he started and assisted Ryan Bertrand for the first league goal of the season in another 2–1 victory over Queens Park Rangers. During an 8–0 victory over Sunderland on 18 October, he scored his first goal for the club, though it was later credited as an own goal by Patrick van Aanholt. Nevertheless, he scored his first goal in his next match, a 1–0 win over Stoke City a week later.
  • He scored three times in three consecutive matches in December and January, against Crystal Palace, Chelsea, and Arsenal. Mané scored two late winning goals in 1–0 victories against Queens Park Rangers on 7 February 2015 and against Crystal Palace on 3 March. Mané was dropped from Southampton’s starting line-up for their 0–2 loss to Liverpool on 22 February as a punishment for being late to the stadium.
  • The fastest hat-trick in Premier League history was achieved by Mané on 16 May in Southampton’s 6–1 win over Aston Villa during Southampton’s final home match of the season. Robbie Fowler had held the record since 1994 when he scored three goals against Arsenal in 4 minutes, 33 seconds. Mané ended the season with 10 goals from 32 appearances across all competitions.
  • Saints’ Mohamed Mané opened the 2015-16 season by assisting twice in the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round first leg match at home against Vitesse Arnhem, and he scored in the return leg, advancing them 5–0 on aggregate. He took 39 seconds to open the scoring against Liverpool in the quarter-finals of the League Cup on 2 December, but the Saints ultimately lost 6–1 at home.
  • He was dropped from the starting lineup by Ronald Koeman for a match against Norwich City on 2 January 2016 when he arrived late for a pre-match meeting. As a result of a collision into Erik Pieters on 12 March in a 2–1 win against Stoke City, he received a straight red card, but this was quickly overturned on appeal.
  • Having failed to score in the league for over four months, Mané scored twice in a 3–2 victory over Liverpool in March 2016, followed by five goals in his next five matches, including three in a 4–2 win against Manchester City. Southampton’s top scorer finished the season with 15 goals in all competitions.
  • Mané joined Liverpool on 28 June 2016 for £ 34 million over a five-year contract. At the time, his transfer fee made him the most expensive African player ever. The midfielder scored the fourth goal for the Reds against Arsenal in a 4–3 away win on 14 August. Due to a slight shoulder injury, Mané missed Liverpool’s loss at Burnley, but started against Burton Albion in the League Cup, where he had two assists in a 5–0 victory.
  • Mané scored the only goal of the 227th Merseyside derby at Goodison Park on 19 December. On 11 February 2017, Mané scored two goals within two minutes against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield, giving Liverpool their first league victory of 2017. The Liverpool forward was named in the PFA Team of the Year after scoring 13 league goals in his first season with the Reds. Mané was awarded the Liverpool Player of the Season award on 9 May 2017 despite having missed the latter part of the season due to injury.
  • In Liverpool’s first match of the new season, on 12 August 2017, the team drew 3–3 away to Watford. Mané scored Liverpool’s first goal of the season. A goal in each of Liverpool’s three matches in August earned him the title of Premier League Player of the Month. A straight red card was issued to him in the first half of a 5–0 defeat to Manchester City for a high boot against goalkeeper Ederson, which resulted in a three-match suspension.
  • Mané scored his first hat-trick for Liverpool in the first leg of the round of 16 of the 2017–18 UEFA Champions League on 14 February 2018. As a result, he became only the second player in the club’s history to score a hat-trick away from home.
  • Mané scored Liverpool’s equalizing goal in the 2018 UEFA Champions League Final against Real Madrid on 26 May. Consequently, he became the first Senegalese player to score in the competition’s final.
  • In November 2018, Mané signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool. Mané scored twice during Liverpool’s 4–2 win over Burnley on 10 March 2019, the second of which was his 50th competitive goal for the club. Salah became only the fifth Liverpool player to score in six consecutive home Premier League matches, after Michael Owen, Fernando Torres, Luis Suárez, and Salah.
  • After scoring his 17th goal for the campaign in a 2–1 win over Fulham, Ba broke another of Ba’s records by becoming the Senegalese player with the most Premier League goals in a season. He was one of six players nominated for the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award alongside teammate Virgil van Dijk on 20 April.
  • Mané scored twice in a 2–0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on the final day of the domestic campaign. His brace brought his tally for the season to 22 goals, which tied him with Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for the Premier League Golden Boot award.
  • Mané won Liverpool an early penalty in the 2019 UEFA Champions League Final against Tottenham, only 24 seconds after the start of play. After sitting out the shootout, Salah converted from the spot to open the scoring and Liverpool defeated Tottenham 2–0 to win the tournament.
  • Mané scored twice in the 2019 UEFA Super Cup final against Chelsea, which Liverpool won 5–4 on penalties after the game ended 2–2 after 120 minutes. Mané was named man of the match.
  • One month later, he scored twice in a 3-1 victory over Newcastle United, extending his record run of matches without defeat for Liverpool at Anfield to 50, a league record for any player at any venue. During his 100th Premier League appearance for Liverpool on 5 October, Mané scored his 50th league goal.
  • He was included in the 30-player shortlist for the 2019 Ballon d’Or on October 21. He finished fourth for the award on 2 December behind Lionel Messi, Liverpool teammate Virgil van Dijk and Cristiano Ronaldo. Liverpool beat Everton 5–2 in the Merseyside derby two days later, extending their unbeaten run in league football to 32 games, a new club record.

Vineeta Singh Biography, Age, Husband, Kids, Sugar Cosmetics

Early life And Education

Potanin was born into a prominent communist family in Moscow, then part of the USSR. He enrolled at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) school of International Economic Relations in 1978, which prepared students for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Following in his father’s footsteps, he joined the FTO Soyuzpromexport, a division of the Soviet Union’s Ministry of Foreign Trade, after earning his degree from MGIMO in 1983.

Len Blavatnik Biography, Age, Donations, House, Education

Personal life

Three children were born in Potanin’s first marriage to Natalia Potanina. After 31 years of marriage, they divorced. They got married in 1983. In 2014, Potanin wed Ekaterina for a second time; they are the parents of two kids.

The 89 m (292 ft) Barbara, constructed in 2016, the 88.5 m (290 ft) Nirvana, built-in 2012, and the 76 m (249 ft) Anastasia, built-in 2008 were all built for him by Oceanco. Only Potanin, a Russian, has agreed to give at least half of his money to charity by signing The Giving Pledge.

Divorce with Wife

In what would have been the highest divorce payout in history, Natalia Potanina filed a $15 billion lawsuit in 2016 accusing Norilsk Nickel and Interros International of profiting from the divorce. In July 2017, a Moscow district court dismissed her complaint on the grounds that the statute of limitations had run out.

The $7 billion claims came before it in 2015, following Potanin’s offer of a divorce settlement that included real estate in Moscow, London, and New York as well as a $250,000 monthly stipend. The assertion was rejected in 2016. According to Natalia, it is required by Russian law that the money amassed during the marriage be divided equally between the divorcing couple.

Career

Starting (1991–1998)

Using the expertise he had acquired at the Ministry of Foreign Trade and his prior network of contacts, Potanin left the State’s foreign trade organisations during perestroika and founded the private association Interros in 1991. Potanin was elected president of the newly established United Export-Import Bank in 1993.  Oneksimbank, which was also known as the ONEKSIMbank-MFK banking company and was related to Andrey Vavilov, is the financial twin of MFK.

Potanin is a close ally of Anatoly Chubais, who introduced him to Viktor Chernomyrdin, the Russian prime minister. Potanin played a key role in the establishment of the “loans for shares” auctions in 1995, which went on to become a crucial tenet of Russia’s post-Soviet economic restructuring. The auctions, which made it possible to sell off the assets of Russian companies for less than market value, are credited with helping to establish the oligarchy in Russia.

The auctions scheme was viewed in 1999 “almost uniformly as an act of massive crime,” according to the New York Times. He served as the Russian Federation’s First Deputy Prime Minister from August 14, 1996, until March 17, 1997. After Boris Jordan brought George Soros to Potanin in 1997, the Berezovsky-Gusinsky group lost control of the Russian communications monopoly to the Soros Group, which was backed by Potanin, Anatoly Chubais, and Alfred Koch.

Soros said his sizable investment in Svyazinvest was a mistake a year later. Potanin has served as the Interros Company’s president and chairman of the board of directors since August 1998. Potanin suggested Boris Jordan for the position of Chairman of Sidanko on November 25, 1998.

Jordan held the position until February 1999, when he resigned. Using the “loans for shares” strategy, Potanin and his longtime business associate Mikhail Prokhorov purchased Norilsk Nickel (or Nornickel) in the early 1990s, holding a combined 54 per cent of the company. As of 2018, Potanin had a 34 per cent share in the business. They made Norilsk Nickel a contemporary firm by streamlining processes.

Mikhail Prokhorov-related disagreement

In 2007, Potanin declared his intention to buy Prokhorov’s Norilsk Nickel holdings for an estimated $1 billion. Potanin cited Prokhorov’s brief incarceration by French police for soliciting prostitution as the cause for their breakup. Prokhorov proposed $15 billion in exchange for the sale of his 25% interest.

The agreement was rejected by Potanin, hence it never materialised. In order to contact Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prokhorov resorted to Valentin Yumashev, the former president’s chief of staff, according to a report released by the investigative website Meduza in 2016.

According Russian reports, Putin “called Potanin in front of Prokhorov and scolded him, saying, ‘It’s dishonest to cheat on partners.'” In the end, Prokhorov chose to sell his 25% share in Norilsk to Oleg Deripaska of RUSAL. He filed a $29 million lawsuit against Prokhorov in March 2009 over a Moscow real estate dispute.

Against Potanin’s desires, Deripaska and Prokhorov came to an arrangement in 2008 for Deripaska to purchase Prokhorov’s interest in Norilsk Nickel. Prokhorov received 14% of RUSAL as payment. This led to ownership disputes between Deripaska and Potanin, which were resolved in 2012 when Roman Abramovich acted as a mediator by acquiring 6.5 percent of Norilsk and keeping Deripaska and Potanin in a power-sharing arrangement.

The parties were not allowed to sell their stakes or buy new ones during the truce. Due to his ownership of around 30% of Norilsk—nearly 2% more than Deripaska—and the terms of the purchase, Potanin became the company’s CEO. Potanin made an offer to purchase 4% of Abramovich’s interest in February 2018.

In March, Potanin and Abramovich came to a tentative acquisition deal wherein Potanin would purchase a 2% share in Norilsk. As of March 2018, the transaction has not yet received official approval. A court decision in May will determine whether the acquisition would violate the 2012 shareholder agreement.

If the deal goes through, Potanin would hold 32.9% of Norilsk, compared to Deripaska’s 27.8%. Deripaska cancelled the agreement in April, claiming penalties as the cause. The court rejected Potanin’s request to purchase the assets owned by Abramovich on June 28, 2018. Deripaska’s potential exercise of a contingent right to acquire shares was unclear at the time.

Environmental damage

Norilsk Nickel has endured constant criticism for its environmental performance throughout Potanin’s time as CEO. The firm was identified as one of the major sources of pollution in the Russian Arctic, and Norilsk was listed as one of the world’s most polluted cities.

According to a 2013 report, Norilsk Nickel’s operations “discharge about 500 tonnes of copper and nickel oxides per year and release another 2 million tonnes of sulphur dioxide into the atmosphere annually,” accounting for a local population with a life expectancy 10 years lower than the national average in Russia. 1.2 million acres of dead forest surround Norilsk, or, depending on the source, “nature in a radius approximately the size of Germany is dead from severe air pollution,” according to claims from journalists who visited the city.

As a result, Potanin has been under increasing pressure from Putin to improve the way Norilsk Nickel operates. In 2010, Putin declared that one of the top priorities for the company’s leadership should be resolving the ecological issues in the Norilsk region. In September 2016, a suspected Norilsk Nickel slurry pipe collapse caused industrial waste to be spilt into the adjacent Daldykan river, causing it to become red.

Following that, the Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources fined Norilsk Nickel an unknown sum (Rosprirodnadzor). Potanin committed to using the modernisation of capacity to address environmental issues by 2023 during a meeting with Putin in January 2017.

Potanin gave Putin an update on Norilsk Nickel’s progress and performance and pledged to spend $17 billion over the course of seven years on initiatives to update the company’s infrastructure and cut back on pollution caused by its activities. Potanin stated that as part of its long-term development plan until 2023, the firm intended to lower its emissions by 75%. According to business data, emissions in the Norilsk region decreased by 30 to 35 per cent alone in 2017.

However, it’s rumoured that a $2 billion environmental cleanup effort is still unfinished. The second-largest oil leak in contemporary Russian history happened in May 2020 at a power plant controlled by Norilsk Nickel, filling waterways with up to 21,000 cubic metres of diesel oil.

Vladimir Potanin Various investments

Potanin also has stock in the pharmaceutical firm Petrovax Pharm.

Resort at Rosa Khutor

After skiing with Putin in Austria in 2003, Vladimir Potanin was motivated to build the Rosa Khutor ski resort in the Mzymta valley close to Sochi. After Sochi was chosen in 2007 to host the Olympic Winter Games for 2014, he invested more than $2 billion in developing the resort.

He is accused of pressuring Putin to accept the development in order to establish a “Russian Courchevel,” despite objections from environmental organisations who argued it would worsen the region’s problems. Following Potanin’s complaint regarding an estimated $530 million cost overrun during the building of hotels and chalets in Sochi and the Rosa Khutor ski resort (as required by the International Olympic Committee), Vladimir Potanin sought reimbursement from the Russian government for the additional expenses incurred.

Although Potanin had stated that construction would need “minimal excavation and zero-logging,” it was later revealed that the Rosa Khutor resort had caused the destruction of a sizable area of woodland. Environmental protection organisations like Environmental Watch in North Caucasus harshly denounced this.

In the Mzymta valley, Potanin launched a leopard breeding programme between 2005 and 2010 with the help of a $500,000 investment. He requested permission from President Putin in 2015 to expand the ski resort by doubling its size, endangering the leopard programme he had helped to create.

Iran

After the sanctions against Iran over its missile programme were lifted in 2016, Potanin became the first significant Russian investor to purchase assets there.

He purchased shares of the Swedish Pomegranate (company), a stakeholder in several Iranian internet businesses, including Digikala, the largest online store in the nation, through his investment fund New Winter Capital Partners (NWCP). An estimated $300 million was invested in Digikala.

Cryptocurrency

Vladimir Potanin belongs to the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP), a lobbying organisation that in October 2018 addressed Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev a proposal for substitute cryptocurrency laws.

Vneshekonombank

In a lawsuit filed in May 2015 by the state-owned Vnesheconombank (VEB) to recover losses from the liquidation of Roskhlebprodukt, which he indirectly had an interest in, Potanin was added as a co-defendant.

VEB requested a total of 68 million dollars in compensation from Vladimir Potanin and others.

Rosbank

Due to international sanctions during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022, French banking Societe Generale had left Rosbank assets stranded and was looking for a swift departure from Russia in April 2022.

The troubled assets were purchased by Interros. Between 2006 and 2014, the French banker paid Interros an estimated $4.3 billion to acquire virtually all of the shares in the Russian bank and its subsidiaries. This deal resulted in a $3.3 billion balance sheet write-off for French banking.

Bank Tinkoff

Following Oleg Tinkov’s ill-advised tirade against the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the latter announced in April 2022 that he would retire and sell his interests in Tinkoff Bank to Potanin-controlled Interros.

Vladimir Potanin  Awards

ControversiesIn 2012, the Hyderabad media reported that the Aazaan actor, Sachiin Joshi, had teased Priyamani in “allegedly inebriated” state at a party after a match. The reports stated that he had tried to "hold her hand" and "hug" her. However, Priyamani called the reports false and said, "We were just unwinding after the matches. I don’t understand why a story like this has been circulated. All it does is harm Sachiin and my reputations.”
In 2016, Priya shared her engagement news with her fans and well-wishers through Twitter. The actress, who was expecting blessings and good wishes from everyone, was apparently showered with a lot of criticism and nasty comments about her fiance and family. Upset with so much of negativity coming her way, the actress gave a befitting reply to her haters. She wrote, "Fed up of so much of hatred and negativity with regards to the engagement news that I shared this morning hoping that everyone would be a part of my new journey and bless me with ur kind messages..but I’m appalled by so much of negative reactions! Grow up, you people!!! ITS MY LIFE and I’m NOT answerable to anyone apart from my parents and my fiancé!”
In May 2016, Priyamani attracted controversy for her remarks over a rape case. The gruesome rape and murder of Jisha, a Government Law college student in Ernakulam, shocked the entire nation and many celebrities voiced their dissent over the recurrence of such incidents in the country. Priya too took to Twitter to share her agony and wrote that India was not a safe place for girls. She even asked the women to leave the country and move to safe places abroad. She was highly criticized for her statement.
Priyamani acted in a movie titled “Engiruntho Vandaal,” but the film for some unknown reasons never progressed beyond a point. So, the makers of the film did not pay her in full. However, later the film was completed with some other artists and a few of Priya’s hot stills, which had been shot earlier, were also being included in the film. Unhappy with the maker’s act, Priyamani filed a complaint with Movie Artists Association MAA, demanding its intervention, and stop using her content or pay her in full.

Movies – Career

Priyamani made her debut with Telugu film, Evare Atagaadu. She then made her debut in the Malayalam Film Industry with Sathyam, but this film performed poorly at the box office. She was signed by Tamil film director and cinematographer Balu Mahendra to act in the 2005 drama Adhu Oru Kana Kaalam.

Before release, Babith said “Priyamani has come up with an excellent performance in the movie. Her performance would be widely acclaimed.” Adhu Oru Kana Kaalam was critically acclaimed but failed at the box office. However, she won acclaim for her performance in the film. In 2006, Priyamani starred in the Telugu film Pellaina Kothalo. The film was a super hit and got her three Telugu films.

Priyamani managed to prove her acting credentials and commercial appeal with 2007’s Paruthiveeran, directed by Ameer Sultan, in which she has co-starred with debutant Karthi Sivakumar. A rural subject which told the story of a notorious young villager in Madurai, the film won critical acclaim and became a surprise box-office blockbuster. Priyamani’s performance was unanimously praised by the critics.

She had another commercially successful film in Telugu, in the 2007 film Yamadonga and in the Tamil film Malaikottai. She again received critical acclaim in 2008 for her role in the Malayalam film Thirakkatha, in which she played a role based on the turbulent real-life story of late film actress Srividya.

In 2009 she had two Tamil releases, the masala film Arumugam and the remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Classmates, titled Ninaithale Inikkum. The former was a commercial failure: Her Kannada debut film Raam was also a commercial success.

All three of her Telugu releases that year, however, (Drona, Mitrudu, Pravarakhyudu) did not do well at the box office. In 2010 she acted in the satirical film Pranchiyettan & the Saint which became the longest-running Malayalam film since 2005. She won a Filmfare nomination for her role as a Mumbai-based interior decorator in the film.

She was subsequently signed by director Mani Ratnam for his bilingual film, titled Raavanan and Raavan in Tamil and Hindi respectively. Soon after, she was roped in by Bollywood director-producer Ram Gopal Varma for his trilingual film Rakht Charitra.

Varma decided to cast her after seeing her National Award-winning performance in Paruthiveeran. Her Kannada film Vishnuvardhana became a blockbuster hit and later she starred in Anna Bond.

She appeared in an item number in the Bollywood film Chennai Express. She has completed shooting for a Malayalam film, The True Story, and the Telugu film, Chandee, in which she plays Ganga the granddaughter of a freedom fighter, who seeks revenge for the problems her family had to face. Aleksandar Mitrović Biography, Age, Height, Career, Net Worth & Wiki

Life of Fraser Forster

Fraser Gerard Forster born, 17 March 1988, is an English professional football goalkeeper who plays for Premier League club Southampton and the England national team.

Forster was born in Hexham, Northumberland, the son of Brian Clive Forster QC (who subsequently became a circuit judge), and went to the Royal Grammar School in Newcastle, but did not start playing goalie until he was 13 years old.

He had previously primarily played rugby union or cricket. Coaches first felt Forster was too tiny to play goalie, despite playing for local junior team Stocksfield before joining the illustrious Wallsend Boys Club. However, at the age of 15, he experienced a big growth spurt and eventually signed with Newcastle United.

Fraser Forster began his career with Newcastle United and spent time on loan with Stockport County and Bristol Rovers. Forster subsequently went on loan to Celtic during the 2010–11 season, where he helped them win the Scottish Cup.

He stayed on loan for another season, winning the Scottish Premier League, before becoming a permanent squad member in 2012 for a cost of £2.2 million. Forster received several accolades for his achievements at Celtic, and he retains the Scottish top-flight record of 1,256 minutes without allowing a goal.

Fraser Forster joined Southampton for a reported £10 million in August 2014. Forster had a solid initial season in the Premier League, but he suffered a catastrophic knee injury in March 2015 that sidelined him for the remainder of the season. When he returned in January 2016, he rapidly regained his form, going on to establish a club record of 708 minutes without conceding a goal.

Forster’s comeback boosted Southampton’s ascent from thirteenth to sixth place in the league, earning them qualification for the UEFA Europa League the following season.

During 2012 and 2013, Forster was called up to various England teams before earning his maiden international debut in November 2013. He was chosen for England’s World Cup and Euro 2016 teams in 2014.

Forster possesses a remarkable degree of agility despite his massive stature; Ian Brown, who coached him as a teenager at Wallsend, stated that “He was and still is an incredible shot stopper. I’ve seen him save shots for Southampton that he shouldn’t, and his body bends.” In one-on-one circumstances, he appears to amplify his already massive stature to an onrushing opponent.

However, Forster was chastised early in his Celtic career for lacking confidence and authority, and for being unsure with the ball at his feet. He developed with time, and his confidence and kicking significantly improved.

His focus was also highlighted; given Celtic’s domination over the bulk of their opponents in Scotland, their goalie generally enjoys extended periods of inactivity, but when called upon, Forster was always awake and ready.

Fraser Forster Net Worth

Fraser Forster came through the Newcastle United youth system before establishing his reputation in Scotland with Celtic FC. He returned to England with Southampton in 2014 and has a net worth of up to 35 million Euros. In July 2017, the goalkeeper agreed to terms with Southampton on a four-year contract worth four million euros per year. His market worth is currently close to 2.4 Million Euros.

Club Career

Forster signed his first professional deal with Newcastle United’s Academy in 2005. In the 2007–08 season, Forster was Newcastle’s third-choice goalkeeper, while Tim Krul was on loan at Falkirk and featured regularly in the reserves. Fraser, however, never made a first-team appearance for Newcastle throughout his six-year contract, owing to the fact that he spent the most of his time on loan to other teams, frequently for full seasons.

With Krul returning for the 2008–09 season and fully recovered, it was Forster’s time to go on loan. On 2 October 2008, he was loaned to Stockport County to fill in for regular goalkeeper Owain Fôn Williams, who was away on international duty with Wales. On 7 October, Forster made his debut for Stockport in the Football League Trophy second round, which they lost 1–0 away to Bury.

In October, he began his first league encounter for Stockport County, which ended in a 1–1 draw away to Southend United. He returned to Newcastle on November 1 after finishing his loan term with Stockport, where he played six league games and kept three clean sheets.

Forster, who had been on the bench for Newcastle on more than 20 occasions in the Premier League, required consistent playing time and signed a month-long loan agreement with Bristol Rovers on July 31, 2009. In the four league matches he played for them, he maintained two clean sheets.

Norwich announced in November 2009, that they had reached an agreement with Newcastle to extend Forster’s loan. The loan was extended until the conclusion of the 2009–10 season. This happened after he had impressed the Norwich fans with his performances and helped the side rocket up the League One table.

He was also given permission to play in Norwich City’s cup matches.Norwich manager Paul Lambert complimented the saves as “world class” and a tremendous contribution to the squad.

Forster was named Norwich City Player of the Month in November 2009. On April 17, 2010, Norwich City won a hard-fought 1–0 victory at Charlton Athletic, with Forster making outstanding saves to deny Nicky Bailey and Deon Burton. Norwich won League One with a 2–0 win against Gillingham a week later.

Forster was voted the club’s Players’ Player of the Year 2010 and finished second in the Supporters’ Player of the Year award in acknowledgment of his role in Norwich’s success. An outstanding season at Norwich was capped by his receipt of the Macron Golden Gloves Award for the greatest league clean sheet record, with 18 clean sheets in 38 league games and 20 clean sheets in 20 outings.

Forster joined Celtic on a season-long loan from Newcastle on August 24, 2010. “He’s a big guy, he’s come well recommended,” Celtic manager Neil Lennon said of Forster. “His age is the one thing going against him because otherwise he’s got the traits you look for.” He made his Celtic debut against Motherwell on August 29, 2010, and maintained a clean sheet as Celtic won 1–0. With the exception of two cup matches, he went on to play in every match of Celtic’s season.

Forster had a fantastic season with Celtic, finishing second in both the League Cup and the Scottish Premier League. Forster and teammate goalkeeper Lukasz Zauska combined for 23 league clean sheets, exceeding Celtic’s previous clean sheet record from the 2001–02 season. Of the 22 clean sheets, Forster preserved 21. He finished his season with a 3–0 win over Motherwell, which helped Celtic win the Scottish Cup. In 44 games for Celtic, he kept 24 clean sheets.

After appearing in pre-season for Newcastle against Darlington, Orlando City, Leeds United, and Fiorentina, as well as being named among the substitutes for the Premier League season opener against Arsenal, Forster returned to Celtic on loan for the remainder of the season on August 17, 2011.

He helped Celtic draw 0–0 at home against FC Sion before losing 3–1 away, only for UEFA to reinstate Celtic into the Europa League with 3–0 victory in both legs when Sion were deemed to have fielded ineligible players. He let up goals in each of his five group matches.

Forster had a fantastic 2011–12 season with Celtic, helping the club win the Scottish Premier League and break the previous season’s record of 23 clean sheets. He and Zauska combined for 25 clean sheets, with Forster collecting up 21 of them.

Hearts were given a disputed penalty in the last minute of a league match at Parkhead in December 2011, with Celtic leading 1–0. To earn three crucial points for Celtic, Forster made a superb save from Eggert Jonsson’s penalty attempt. He preserved 26 clean sheets in 47 outings that season.

On June 29, 2012, it was confirmed that Forster has signed a permanent contract with Celtic for a cost of around £2 million paid to Newcastle United. Forster was praised as a “high class keeper” by manager Neil Lennon, who saw him as an essential addition to the club.

On 7 November 2012, Forster delivered a determined performance against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League group stages, assisting Celtic to a historic 2–1 triumph during the club’s 125th anniversary week. Because of the caliber of his performance, the Spanish press dubbed Forster “La Gran Muralla” (“The Great Wall”).

Forster continued to shine in domestic contests. Motherwell were granted a soft penalty against Celtic in January 2013. Surprisingly, referee Steven McLean let Tom Hateley take the penalty kick from just in front of the penalty spot. Forster received a yellow card for his objections to McLean. However, the goalie went on to make an outstanding one-handed stop high to his right.

Forster pushed over a thunderous Gary Harkins dipping shot at full-stretch the following month in a league encounter against Dundee. In May 2013, this save was chosen the SPL Save of the Season. Forster went on to win a second league title with Celtic that season, and completed a league and cup double with a 3–0 triumph over Hibernian in the Scottish Cup Final on May 26, 2013.

Celtic qualified for the UEFA Champions League again in 2013–14, and faced Barcelona at Parkhead on October 1, 2013, losing 1–0. Despite the loss, Forster once again excelled with numerous fantastic saves, including an amazing double save near the conclusion of the game.

Fraser Forster playing for Celtic

Forster’s outstanding performances for Celtic in the Champions League and his participation in the England international squad prompted media reports in October and November 2013 that numerous clubs, notably Manchester United and Manchester City, were considering an offer for the goalie.

In reaction to the rumors in the press, Celtic manager Neil Lennon stated, “It’s going to be hard to keep Fraser the way he’s playing,” adding, “Inevitably, I think a large club will come in and make a huge bid for him.”

On February 2, 2014, Forster set a new club record by keeping 11 consecutive league clean sheets. Forster played in Celtic’s first four Champions League qualification matches, despite rumors connecting him to a move to Southampton.

Celtic and Southampton agreed on a rumored price of about £10 million for Forster’s transfer to the Premier League club on August 8, 2014. Southampton made the trade official the next day, when Forster signed a four-year contract with the club.

On August 17, he made his Premier League debut in Southampton’s opening match of the season, a 2–1 loss against Liverpool. By mid-October, and after eight Premier League games, Forster had four clean sheets and only allowed five goals, the best defensive record in the Premier League at the time.

In a match against Burnley on March 21, 2015, Forster suffered a significant knee injury while clearing a back pass and was led off the field by doctors. He was replaced by Kelvin Davis.

Despite being anticipated to be out for up to a year, Forster returned to light training in November 2015. On January 6, 2016, Forster played the whole 90-minute Under-21 Premier League Cup encounter against Chelsea and kept a clean sheet.

On 13 January 2016, he made his Premier League debut, playing the full 90 minutes and maintaining a clean sheet in Southampton’s 2–0 win against Watford.

Forster’s performance versus Arsenal on February 2, 2016, in his fourth match, was particularly excellent and received much praise. The Gunners controlled the game, with 11 shots on goal to Southampton’s three. Forster made a number of saves in what The Daily Telegraph called a “genuinely inspired goalkeeping display.”

Although he had been first choice goalkeeper since his debut at Southampton, it wasn’t until Kelvin Davis retired in the summer of 2016 that Forster was officially given the customary goalkeeper’s “number 1” shirt at the club.

Despite Forster’s and Southampton’s overall poor run, the Saints were the only team in history to reach the League Cup final without surrendering a single goal. However, Southampton lost the final 3–2 against Manchester United on February 26, 2017. Despite a difficult season, Forster finished the season with 14 clean sheets.

With the acquisition of Angus Gunn from Manchester City as a back-up for Alex McCarthy in July 2018, Forster was moved further down the pecking order at Southampton.

On 22 August 2019, it was revealed that Forster’s old club Celtic had agreed to a season-long loan with Southampton. Forster’s contract with Southampton has three years remaining, although he has not featured for the club since December 2017.

By March 2020, Celtic were 13 points clear in the league and on their path to a ninth straight triumph; however, because of the COVID-19 epidemic in the United Kingdom, all professional football in Scotland was banned later that month. The Celtics were later crowned champions.

Despite media rumors that Forster might return to Celtic for a second stint, he returned to Southampton for the 2020–21 season. Forster made his season debut in the EFL Cup on August 25, 2021, as Southampton defeated Newport County 8–0 to earn their largest away win in history.

International Career

Roy Hodgson named Forster to England’s team for the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against San Marino and Poland on October 4, 2012. On November 8, 2012, Forster was picked to Hodgson’s England team for a friendly against Sweden.

In March 2013, Hodgson named Forster to his England team for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers against San Marino and Montenegro. Forster was included in England’s team for the World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine on August 27, 2013, joining Joe Hart and John Ruddy in the goalkeeper race.

Forster made his England debut on November 15, 2013, in a friendly match against Chile at Wembley Stadium. England lost 2–0, however Forster was “blameless” for both goals and made a “great diving stop” to prevent Chile from scoring a third. With this game against Chile, Forster became only the second Celtic player to play for England, following Alan Thompson in 2004.

Hodgson nominated Forster to England’s 23-man team for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil on May 12, 2014. On 7 June, he came in for Joe Hart in England’s final warm-up match before the tournament, a 0–0 tie with Honduras. Forster traveled to Brazil with the rest of the England team, but he did not play.

Forster missed much of 2015 due to a knee injury, but his performance after returning to football in early 2016 won him a recall to the England group in March. He appeared in the second half of England’s 3–2 friendly triumph against Germany in Berlin, making a superb save from a Marco Reus free kick before conceding a goal to Mario Gómez.

Three days later, on March 29, 2016, Forster played the entire 90 minutes in a 2–1 loss to the Netherlands. Danny Rose claimed that the handball that led to the penalty for the Netherlands’ first goal was not malicious, while Phil Jagielka seemed to be fouled in the build-up to Luciano Narsingh’s winning goal.

Despite the loss, Forster played with poise and made some good saves. Forster was nominated to England’s 23-man team for UEFA Euro 2016, yet he was once again an understudy to Joe Hart and did not appear in any of England’s four matches at the tournament.

Following Euro 2016, Forster was an unused replacement in consecutive England matches before being withdrawn entirely from the team in August 2017.

He expressed his desire to rejoin the national squad in November 2019. Forster was called up to the England squad for friendly matches against Switzerland and the Ivory Coast on March 23, 2022. He came in as a late replacement for Sam Johnstone.
