Know All About Former Miss India Runner-up Manya Singh As A Contestant In Bigg Boss 2022 – Season 16
Miss India’s runner-up is one of 16 contestants taking part in the Salman Khan-hosted show. During an interview with the media, Manya revealed what motivated her to sign up for the show. “I am participating in the show in order to earn a lot of money. Apart from earning money, I would also like to gain recognition from others. Priyanka Chopra is also Miss India, but she is renowned throughout the world for who she is, not just in India,” she said.
Having grown up in Uttar Pradesh, Manya Singh ran away from home at the age of 14 in search of a better life. In order to support her dreams, her parents followed suit. It is her father who drives an auto-rickshaw in Mumbai, and she confesses that he continues to do so, despite the fact that she has not been able to land a significant position even after her stint as Miss India. Manya shared that she is looking forward to seeing Bigg Boss 16, as she has always found the infrastructure of the glass-doored house to be fascinating. Aside from being a foodie, the model said she gets cranky when she is hungry. “That’s the only thing that concerns me.”
Additionally, Manya stated that she has withdrawn herself from the Miss India training program due to other career goals. “I am interested in pursuing a career in acting. The purpose of exploring ourselves is to discover who we are. As a result, I decided not to participate in the training since I did not wish to be perceived as just a prim and proper individual. In addition, since I am well-liked in real life, I am not afraid of being under the spotlight 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Given it’s a reality show, I am actually looking forward to being myself on the show,” she shared, adding that she wants to get noticed on the show and gain some acting projects.
According to Manya Singh, her parents have always supported her in whatever she has done, and they are thrilled to be able to provide her with this opportunity. It was also on the day of Ganpati Visarjan that she received a call from the makers of Bigg Boss. The last day of Ganpati was approaching, and we were about to leave for Visarjan when the team called and said you were joining us. It was as if the universe was telling me that it was time for the show.”
She further stated that she is a ‘gaon ki ladki’ who never expected to share the stage with superstar Salman Khan. In response to the question of whether she agrees that Bigg Boss has lost its charm over time, she replied, “I am bringing the charm back.”. In Miss India, I brought the charm back and I will continue to do so in Bigg Boss 16.
As Manya Singh explained, she has a lot of patience to survive the game, but if someone tests it, she may become irritable. Her competitive nature is evident in the fact that she has been working hard for six years for Miss India, so she will go all out to win the title this year. Last but not least, we asked her to select three items that she would have smuggled into the house. “My Ganpati Bappa, a packet of chips, and my crown.”. “I value my crown highly, and I wish to keep it close at all times,” she concluded.
The Struggles Of Manya Singh Are Revealed At Bigg Boss 16
After being crowned the runner-up of the Femina Miss India title in 2020, Manya Singh became the talk of the town. Since she is the daughter of an auto-rickshaw driver, her victory was all the more meaningful.
Salman asked Manya about her life after winning the pageant, and she revealed that despite winning the title, she has had limited employment opportunities. The journey has been difficult for me since I won the Miss India title two years ago. My father still rides the auto-rickshaw,” Manya said calmly.
The Dark Complexion Of Manya Singh Led To Her Rejection
Manya Singh shared on the Bigg Boss 16 stage that winning a pageant is not sufficient to make it big in the entertainment industry. It has been a challenging journey for her, but she will persevere.
Manya, in response to Salman Khan’s question as to why she is not receiving more work, responded that it may be due to the dark complexion of her skin. Due to my dark skin tone, most of the offers did not materialize. People used to say that winning a pageant was not enough.
Having been born into a middle-class family in Uttar Pradesh – Kushinagar on 27 Sep 2001, she faces many difficulties in order to survive and fulfill basic necessities such as food, shelter, and clothing. In addition to this, she is also subjected to domestic violence and patriarchal culture.
According to her, she has spent numerous nights without food or sleep. “It has been my pleasure to walk for miles on end on many afternoons. My blood, sweat, and tears have combined to give me the courage to pursue my dreams.”
“Being a rickshaw driver’s daughter, I was not able to attend school as I had to begin working at the age of fourteen. I had only hand-me-down clothing. Although I yearned for books, my mother had to make sure that I paid my exam fees in order to earn a degree. In order to provide for me, my mother has suffered a great deal.”
Due to a lack of funding, she was unable to attend school from class 3 to class 8. As a teenager, she escaped from her home and began working at Pizza Hut in Mumbai as a utensil cleaner, which enabled her to support herself during her studies.
During her struggling days, she posted a post on her Instagram account in which she wrote,
“I ran away from home at the age of 14. I completed my studies during the day, worked as a dishwasher in the evening, and worked at a call center at night and walked hours to reach my destination in order to save on rickshaw fares.”
In addition to these difficulties, she was a bright student who scored 80% in her 10th standard and won the best student award for the 12th grade.
After completing her college education at Thakur College of Science and Commerce, Mumbai, she also worked at a call center to pay her fees and fulfill her expenses while in college.
In her third year of college, she also prepared for the UPSC exam.
