Career

Initial Career

At the beginning of his career, Schmidt worked in a variety of technical capacities for IT firms like Byzromotti Design, Bell Labs (in research and development), Zilog, and Palo Alto Research Center (PARC).

He and Mike Lesk created Lex, a tool used in compiler development that creates lexical analyzers from regular-expression descriptions, during his summers at Bell Labs.

Sunshine Microsystems

Schmidt started working at Sun Microsystems as its first software manager in 1983. He progressed to become Sun Technology Enterprises’ president, director of software engineering, vice president and general manager of the software products division, and vice president of the general systems group.

He was the victim of two notorious April Fool’s Day jokes while working on Sun. In the first, his office was disassembled and then reconstructed on a platform in the centre of a pond, replete with a functional phone and workstation connected to the company’s Ethernet network. The next year, a functioning Volkswagen Beetle was disassembled and put back together at his workplace.

Robert Shapiro Bio, Age, OJ Simpson, Wiki & Net Worth

Novell

Schmidt was appointed CEO and board chairman of Novell in April 1997. He oversaw a period of decline at Novell during which its IPX protocol was supplanted by open TCP/IP products and Microsoft was providing free TCP/IP stacks with Windows 95, significantly decreasing Novell’s profitability. He left in 2001 after Cambridge Technology Partners was purchased. In 2009 or 2010, he didn’t get any more shares or options.

The majority of his remuneration came from “personal security” services and private plane rentals. Along with Google co-founders Page and Brin, Schmidt was named first on PC World’s list of the 50 most influential people online in 2007. Schmidt is one of a select group of individuals[who?] who, like Meg Whitman, became billionaires (in US dollars) as a result of stock options they were granted while working for companies whose founders or founders’ families they were neither.

Forbes rated Schmidt as the 136th richest person in the world in its 2011 “World’s Billionaires” list, with an estimated net worth of $7 billion. Schmidt announced his resignation as Google’s CEO on January 20, 2011, although he will continue to serve as the company’s executive chairman and serve as an advisor to co-founders Page and Brin.

He received a $100 million equity reward from Google in 2011 after he resigned as CEO. Schmidt was succeeded as CEO by Page on April 4, 2011. On December 21, 2017, Schmidt made his resignation as Alphabet’s executive chairman official. “Larry, Sergey, Sundar and I all feel that the moment is right in the evolution of Alphabet for this move,” said Schmidt.

After 19 years with the firm, Schmidt resigned from his position as a technical advisor in February 2020.

Ministry of Defense

The Defense Innovation Advisory Board, a new advisory body for the Department of Defense, was revealed to have Eric Schmidt as its chairman in March 2016. The advisory council acts as a venue for bringing together Pentagon officials and industry heavyweights in the technology sector. Schmidt continued to serve as Alphabet’s technical adviser, and Google was still in the process of submitting a proposal for the Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure, or JEDI, a multi-million dollar Pentagon cloud contract, to avoid any potential conflicts of interest:

There is a rule: I’m not authorised to be briefed about Google or Alphabet business as it pertains to the Defense Department, Schmidt said in a statement that he used to filter emails and other correspondence. In November 2020, he resigned from the job. Together with Robert O. Work, Schmidt served as co-chair of the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence from 2019 to 2021.

Participation in Unlawful Non-Recruitment Agreements

Schmidt participated in actions while employed at Google that eventually gave rise to the High-Tech Employee Antitrust Litigation case, which ended in a $415 million settlement paid to workers by Adobe, Apple, Google, and Intel. In one instance, Schmidt emailed Google’s human resources department after receiving a complaint from Steve Jobs of Apple, stating, “I think we have a policy of no recruiting from Apple and this is a direct inbound request.

Please stop this and explain to me why it’s occurring. Please let me know as soon as you can since I need to respond to Apple right now. Thank you, Eric. Schmidt’s email caused a Google recruiter to be “terminated within the hour” for not following the unlawful programme.

There was a “Do Not Call list” of businesses that Google would not call about hiring from under Schmidt. A court document states that in another email discussion, Schmidt is questioned about Google’s no-cold-call policies by the company’s director of human resources. Schmidt said, “Vocally, as I don’t want to establish a written trail over which we might subsequently be sued?” in response.

Schmidt was elected to the board of directors of Apple Inc. on August 28, 2006, and he served in that capacity until August 2009.

FAQs

Who is a better dancer, Hrithik Roshan or Tiger Shroff?

Hrithik Roshan is the more graceful mover overall. He has shown a little more variety and diversity in the dance styles he can adopt. But as a live performer Tiger is better, on Film I’d take Hrithik. Tiger is lacking in grace, he is a cut above your average bodybuilding Bollywood dancing boys. He’s really quick and clean, but he isn’t long-limbed like a professional dancer ought to be (like Hrithik). Tiger does really well with the choreography that’s given to him.

Why do all Tiger Shroff films flop?

A film getting flop and you are not liking that film is two different things. Just because few people gave negative reviews for a particular film does not make it a flop. Every film requires to earn a margin of the amount over the budget of that film to get the tag of Hit, Super-Hit, Blockbuster. For example, Tiger’s film Heropanti made on a budget of 25 Crores it earned over 79 crores and was declared a super hit.

Is Tiger shroff dating Disha Patani?

In the Koffee With Karan show, Karan questioned Tiger about his frequent lunch dates with Disha and how he is snapped carrying the bag for his alleged ladylove, to which the actor replied saying “Holding the bag for her makes me look really nice.” Isn’t he the perfect gentleman? He further added, “I am great friends with her. I love her company and we are keeping it at that.” When Karan pushed further, he clarified, “We both have very similar interests. I don’t have very many friends in the industry and she is one of the few people whom I get along with.” Well, looks like Tiger has thoroughly done his research and knew how to answer Karan’s questions without making any big revelation about his life.

Why is Tiger Shroff so creepy?

Maybe he is too humble and shy and all you see Bollywood as a masala so you find him creepy. It’s too early to compare him to legends and would be too immature to compare with actors who get into the industry using the name of their parents. Tiger din enters the industry like that, he earned a role with his hard work and passion.

Is Tiger Shroff the fittest among Bollywood heroes?

He is by far one of the fittest actors in Bollywood and yes he is an inspiration to many across India. Even Karan Johar had mentioned about the discipline Tiger has when it comes to his eating habits.

Early Life

Neekolul was born in the United States of America on July 14, 1997, in San Bruno. As of 2021, he will be 24 years old. Nicole Sanchez is her real name. There isn’t much information about her parents’ names or occupations. The same may be said about siblings. Her zodiac sign, according to astrology, is Cancer. She is of mixed racial origin. She is a citizen of the United States.

When it comes to formal education, she attended a local high school in her hometown. She afterwards moved on to college to further her education.

Dream Net Worth, Early Life, Career & Personal Life

Personal Life

Sanchez is primarily of Native American ancestry. Her family came to the United States from Mexico. She is now based in Dallas, Texas. In college, she majored in business and marketing.

Sanchez was arrested in 2018 for corporal harm, a domestic violence crime, and spent the night in jail. Sanchez said in a statement made in March 2021 that she had been a victim of domestic violence by her former spouse for seven years, including physical beatings. Her arrest, according to her statement, arose from an event in which she assaulted her former boyfriend at his home after confronting him about his behaviour at the end of their relationship.

She was charged with felony domestic violence, but she agreed to take a 12-week anger management course in return for her charges being reduced to a misdemeanour. Her case was dropped after she completed the 12-week programme on the condition that she make no more arrests based on probable cause in the next 12 months. Sanchez’s comments drew praise from popular video makers including Keemstar, Pokimane, and Anna Rudolf, as well as criticism from fellow streamer Destiny, who said that if Sanchez had made the statement about assaulting an ex-partner if he had been a guy, the reaction would have been worse.

She produced a YouTube video titled “$2,000,000 Apartment Tour” in June 2021, which garnered widespread criticism and widespread disdain for its perceived hypocrisy. “I think when people mean like, ‘Tax the rich,’ I think at the end of the day they do mean, like, billionaires and people who have insane, unfathomable amounts of wealth,” she had previously defended herself against accusations of hypocrisy, saying of the “Tax the Rich” slogan seen on her AOC sweater: “I think when people mean like, Tax the rich,

“I think at the end of the day they do mean, like, billionaires and people who have insane, unfathomable amounts of wealth”.

Neekolul Education

Sanchez is primarily of Native American ancestry. Her family came to the United States from Mexico. She is now based in Dallas, Texas. In college, she majored in business and marketing.

Neekolul Career

Overview

Sanchez is primarily a Twitch streamer and partner, having joined the platform in October 2017 under the handle “neeko.” Neekolul speaks both English and Spanish since she is multilingual. As of November 4, 2020, her account had over 278,000 followers and 3.84 million views, according to social media analytics firm Social Blade. She chose to become a Twitch broadcaster because of the medium’s simplicity; unlike YouTube content makers, Twitch streamers’ video is unedited, allowing her to devote enough time to her academics. Early in her career, she streamed Call of Duty but soon shifted to Fortnite.

Boomer video and reception are fine (2020)

Sanchez went famous online on March 2, 2020, after she shared a TikTok video of herself lip-syncing and dancing to the Senzawa song “Oki Doki Boomer” while wearing a Bernie 2020 shirt. “Like to trigger the BOOMERS #bernie2020,” the video’s description stated.

The video and its commentary alluded to the OK boomer Internet meme, which was created by Generation Z and used to mock the Baby Boomer generation. On TikTok, it gained over 6 million views in just four days. It was eventually taken down owing to a copyright takedown, despite the fact that the song’s artist claimed she had nothing to do with the copyright strike. The video has been seen over 30 million times on Twitter.

She produced a YouTube video titled “$2,000,000 Apartment Tour” in June 2021, which garnered widespread criticism and widespread disdain for its perceived hypocrisy. “I think when people people mean like, ‘Tax the rich,’ I think at the end of the day they do mean, like, billionaires and people who have insane, unfathomable amounts of wealth,” she had previously defended herself against accusations of hypocrisy, saying of the “Tax the Rich” slogan seen on her AOC sweater: “I think when people mean like, Tax the rich,

” I think at the end of the day they do mean, like, billionaires and people who have insane, unfathomable amounts of wealth”.

Sanders’ campaign’s official TikTok account also commented on the video, and Sanchez added that the campaign’s social media director reached out to her to participate. Many internet users argued that Sanchez’s video, which was uploaded a day before the Democratic Party presidential primaries on Super Tuesday, had a negative impact on Sanders’ success in primary voting. “I don’t believe I’m a great mover of votes or anything,” she said, “but I think content makers and Internet culture, in general, can bring awareness to matters like this.”

“As her fame grew, it became clear that many of her online fans were following her for ulterior motivations; a substantial portion of engagement on her material was people’s attempts to flirt with her or explain their physical attraction to her.” This earned Neekolul the moniker “Queen of Simps,” a play on the slang term “simp,” which refers to a male who is perceived as giving a woman online undue attention and reverence, frequently in the service of unrequited sexual impulses. Sanchez lost over 65,000 Twitter followers in 48 hours after revealing she has a boyfriend.

She later clarified that she said it for the enjoyment of her viewers; according to Kotaku, “like many of her admirers, she’s always dancing on the impossible hazy line between sarcasm and sincerity.”

Streaming and content production on Twitch (2020–present)

She has continued to post information on the internet since then. Her Twitter account was temporarily disabled after fraudulent copyright accusations were raised against her work. Following that, one of her TikTok videos had her dancing to the tune “Mia Khalifa,” which drew similarities to Belle Delphine’s similar 2019 video.

Pokimane has been compared to her streaming technique. In April, Kotaku wrote on her streaming, saying, “Even as she grows throughout popularity, she maintains an approachable and friendly demeanour in her streams, bordering on effervescent. That isn’t to suggest she doesn’t understand what she’s doing.” Her prominence as a personality and streamer, rather than “simply as a meme,” was expanding, according to the publication. She joined Night Media, a content management business, later that month.

Tubefilter said that after signing with Night Media, she began preparing to extend out on YouTube and had a product line in the works.

She became a content developer for the American lifestyle brand and esports group 100 Thieves in July 2020. She won the consolation bracket in the third edition of the PogChamps event run by Chess.com in 2021, where she was one of twelve competitors.

“The cutesiness of Neekolul’s recent videos and her relative proximity to so-called ‘egirls’ like Delphine has given rise to accusations that the fans who find her attractive are people who want women to behave in ways that are childish, naive, or foolish,” Nathan Grayson of Kotaku speculated on Sanchez’s popularity. “Like so many other objects of masculine attention before her, her very presence as a human being will either inspire you to fawn or to reject,” Gita Jackson of Vice wrote in response to Neekolul’s request. But she’s only following a formula that’s been imposed on young, attractive women since males were able to gaze at them.

“Some critics believe she is propagating negative stereotypes about women and encourages males attracted to women to engage in a passion for seeing them infantilized by wearing a cosplay school uniform, dancing, and talking like a seductive baby,” Jackson continued.

Neekolul’s net worth is projected to be $4 million as of 2023. The majority of Neekolul’s profits come from Twitch subscription fees from her viewers. She is also seen endorsing several businesses on her social media accounts.

She was spotted giving her admirers a tour of her new $2 million residences in a recent Youtube video. Many supporters were offended by the video because it contradicted her status as a Bernie Sanders supporter who believes in taxing the wealthy. She contended in a previous video that the wealthy were billionaires, not millionaires.

Early Life

Bill Knight, a former lawyer who is now a newspaper publisher, and his wife Lota Cloy (Hatfield) Knight welcomed Phil Hampson Knight into the world in Portland, Oregon.

Knight attended Cleveland High School while growing up in Portland’s Eastmoreland area. According to one version, Knight “went to the rival Oregonian, where he did the morning shift tabulating sports scores and every morning ran home the whole seven miles,” after his father refused to grant him a summer position at his newspaper because he thought his son should find employment on his own.

Knight continued his study at the University of Oregon in Eugene, where he was a sports writer for the Oregon Daily Emerald, a graduating brother of Phi Gamma Delta, and graduated in just three years with a B.B.A. in business in 1959. Knight graduated as a “Distinguished Military Graduate” and obtained his Army Reserve Commission in the same year.

He ran the mile (1.6 km) in 4 minutes, 13 seconds as a middle-distance runner at Oregon, where he earned varsity letters for his track accomplishments in 1957, 1958, and 1959. Knight formed the American running group Athletics West in 1977 along with Bowerman and Geoff Hollister.

Personal Life

While employed at Portland State University, Knight met Penelope “Penny” Parks, with whom he later got married on September 13, 1968. In California’s La Quinta, they have a house.

In the 2018 Oregon governor’s race, Knight gave Knute Buehler, a Republican, $3.5 million. In 2004 a scuba diving tragedy in El Salvador claimed the life of Knight’s son, Matthew. Travis Knight, a different son of Knight, is the studio’s director of animation. Phil Knight is the chairperson.

Phil Knight Controversies

Knight’s involvement with UO’s athletic department has also generated criticism. Student activists started planning an anti-sweatshop and fair work practises campaign in April 2000. They also urged school president Dave Frohnmayer to endorse the Workers Rights Consortium (WRC).

Students started a sit-in inside Johnson Hall, the UO’s administrative building, on April 4, 2000. Early in April, a gathering of students demanded that the Fair Labor Association (FLA) not be given any consideration by the university because it was thought to have been founded, funded, and supported by Nike and other businesses. Worker rights advocates had also criticised the FL as an example of dishonest public relations. Following the signing of the one-year deal, Knight withdrew his $30 million pledge for the development of Autzen Stadium and stopped making gifts to the university.

University President Dave Frohnmayer then entered into a new contract with the WRC. In a message to the public, Knight praised the FLA for having a “balanced” approach but attacked the WRC for having unrealistic conditions and calling it foolish. Frohnmayer agreed with Knight’s claim that the WRC was providing unfair representation in the face of ongoing disputes with students, and in October 2000, Eugene Weekly quoted Frohnmayer as saying: “I would refuse to pay dues to the WRC based on a legal opinion from UO General Counsel Melinda Grier, arguing that to do so would be unlawful and subject the university to liability.”

Grier asserted that the WRC had not yet been established, had not yet registered as a non-profit, and had no public purpose that would have made paying dues appropriately. The Oregon University System passed a rule on February 16, 2001, prohibiting all colleges in Oregon from joining either the WRC or the FLA and requiring all schools within the system to pick commercial partners from a politically neutral perspective. Knight revived the contribution and boosted the sum to nearly US$50 million once the relationship between the institution and the WRC was broken.

Another contentious matter was Knight’s achievement in getting Pat Kilkenny, a former insurance executive, appointed as the university’s sports director. Kilkenny was untrained in athletic management and lacked a college degree. The Oregon University System passed a rule requiring all institutions to choose their business partners from a politically neutral perspective on February 16, 2001, prohibiting all universities in Oregon from joining either the WRC or the FLA.

Knight reinstated the gift and increased the amount to over US$50 million after the university and the WRC’s partnership was broken. The fact that Knight was successful in getting Pat Kilkenny appointed as the university’s athletic director raised additional controversy. Kilkenny had no college education and no prior background in athletic administration.

He attended UO but did not complete his degree since he left the institution owing money for a number of credits. Kilkenny served as the chairman and chief executive officer of the San Diego-based Arrowhead General Insurance Agency before being hired by UO. He expanded the firm into a national operation and sold it in 2006 with written premiums of about US$1 billion.

Phil Knight Education

Knight continued his study at the University of Oregon in Eugene, where he was a sports writer for the Oregon Daily Emerald, a graduating member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, and where he obtained a business degree (B.B.A.) in just three years in 1959. Knight graduated with distinction and obtained his Army Reserve commission in the same year.

Professional Career

Prior to the success of Blue Ribbon Sports, which ultimately became Nike, Knight worked as a CPA, first for Coopers & Lybrand and then for Price Waterhouse. Knight afterwards started teaching accounting at Portland State University.

Nike

Knight joined the military right away after earning his degree from the University of Oregon. He spent one year on active service and seven years in the Army Reserve. Knight then enrolled at Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he wrote a thesis titled “Can Japanese Sports Shoes Do to German Sports Shoes What Japanese Cameras Did to German Cameras?” that effectively laid the groundwork for his future venture into the sale of running shoes.

His goal was to bring affordable, high-quality running shoes from Japan to the American market. In 1962, he received his master’s in business administration from Stanford. After graduating, Knight embarked on a journey around the globe, stopping in Kobe, Japan, in November 1962. He found Tiger brand running shoes there, which were produced in Kobe by the Onitsuka Co., which is now known as Asics.

Knight phoned Mr Onitsuka after being impressed by the high calibre and inexpensive price of the shoes, and he agreed to meet with him. Knight had acquired Tiger’s distribution rights for the western United States at the end of the conference. Knight would have to wait more than a year for the delivery of the first Tiger samples; in the meanwhile, he worked as an accountant in Portland. After finally receiving the shoe samples, Knight sent two pairs to Bowerman at the University of Oregon in an effort to get a sale and a significant recommendation.

Knight was surprised when Bowerman offered to join him and contribute product design ideas in addition to ordering the Tiger sneakers. On January 25, 1964, the day Blue Ribbon Sports, the business that would ultimately become Nike, was founded, the two men made a handshake partnership agreement. In a now-famous green Plymouth Valiant, Knight made his initial sales at track events all throughout the Pacific Northwest.

By 1969, Knight was able to quit his employment as an accountant and devote all of his time to Blue Ribbon Sports because of these early sales. Blue Ribbon Sports was renamed Nike in 1971 when Jeff Johnson, Nike’s first employee, proposed the company be called after the Greek winged goddess of triumph. Nike’s “swoosh” emblem, today regarded as one of the most expensive in the world, was purchased from Carolyn Davidson, a graphic design student, in 1971 for $35.

Knight reportedly commented at the time, “I don’t love it, but it will grow on me,” according to the Nike website. For her contribution to the Nike brand, Davidson received an unknown amount of Nike shares in September 1983. When the business went public, Knight allegedly awarded Davidson “a few hundred shares” on the Oprah television programme in April 2011. At Nike, Knight became friends with some of the most well-known sportsmen in the world, such as Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan.

Laika

Due to its quick expansion following late 1990s commercial success, Will Vinton Studios sought outside investment. In 1998, Knight bought a 15% ownership in the business, and his son Travis, who had graduated from Portland State after a failed attempt at a rap music career, started working as an animator there.

Knight eventually acquired Will Vinton Studios and took over the company’s board with the help of Nike officials, citing mismanagement. Late in 2003, Knight added his son to the board. After Vinton resigned—and before receiving a severance package—Knight changed the company’s name to Laika. He then contributed $180 million to Laika, and the company’s first stop-motion picture, Coraline, was released in 2009. Financial success for Coraline led to Travis Knight’s promotion to CEO and president of Laika.

Stepping down from Nike

The campaign to defeat Oregon Ballot Measures 66 and 67, which, if enacted, would have increased income tax on some companies and high-income individuals, received the most funding from Knight during the 2009–2010 period. Nike and Knight announced in June 2015 that Knight will resign as the company’s chairman and that Mark Parker would take over as president and CEO. Knight left the Nike board at the end of June 2016, and his resignation became effective.

Knight made the decision to come out of retirement in September 2017 in order to restore the colour black to the UNC uniforms for the Phil Knight Classic in Portland, Oregon. Phil Knight’s Memoir is the book Shoe Dog.

Rick Shiels Net Worth, Early Life, Career

Phil Knight Net Worth

His current net worth is $43.3 Billion. According to its 2021 annual report, Knight is the creator of Nike, the largest manufacturer of athletic shoes and sports clothing in the world with more than 1,000 outlets globally.

According to Bloomberg’s study of regulatory records, Knight and his family essentially control the company even though they only own around a fifth of the company’s shares. According to a July 2020 filing, Knight and his family possess around 230 million shares via the holding firm Swoosh. In his own person, Philip Knight holds 35 million more shares, according to a filing from October 2020. Through trust and its subsidiary, his son Travis Knight has to access to around 41 million shares.

According to Bloomberg’s investigation, Philip Knight is given credit for shares held by Swoosh and family members to represent his roles as the company’s founder and patriarch. According to Nike spokesman Greg Rossiter, for taxation reasons, he is still regarded as the owner. The Class A shares of Nike are not traded and are 1:1 convertible into the Class B shares. Shares owned by the charity foundation of Knight are not included.

According to a study of Bloomberg statistics, he has made billions of dollars via dividends and the selling of Nike shares. These earnings, together with taxes, market performance, and charity contributions—including $400 million given to Stanford University in February 2016—are used to determine the worth of his cash holdings. Rossiter failed to respond to questions about how Knight’s net worth was determined.

Life Journey

Simon Kjær Biography tells you about his Childhood, Early Life, Family, Parents, Children (Milas and Viggo), Ex-Wife (Camilla), and current Wife (Elina Gollert). Specifically, Dane’s net worth and personal life.

You will follow the center-back’s life journey, from his early days to when he became famous.

Simon Kjær, the Danish captain who became a hero during Euro 2020, will never be forgotten by the football world. Christian Eriksen’s life was saved by his calm act of administering vital health measures before the doctors arrived.

We present you with his fascinating expeditions that led to his stardom in the 21st century. Let’s begin.

He is known as ‘The Viking’ in Biography. Simon Thorup Kjær was born in Horsens, Denmark, on the 26th day of March 1989, to his Danish father, Jorn Kjær, and his Danish mother, Lotte Kjær. During his father and mother’s union, the defender was the eldest of two children. In the young boy’s opinion, there was no better way to spend childhood days than sitting with his mother.

Having the chance to listen to her exciting fairytales all the time is a wonderful experience for him. As a child, he no doubts made a lot of happy memories with his parents.

Growing up in Horsens, soccer was always the priority for the upcoming defender. While growing up, he enjoyed spending time with his sister (Alberte Kjær). A memorable part of his youthful days was, however, his participation in football.

At the age of four, Kjær had already mastered the art of kicking a ball. Even though he was not the most talented of his peers, he gave his all to the game.

Firstly, his household is not super-wealthy but has fared well as average Danish citizens. Simon Kjær comes from humble middle-class family background. The center-back’s household is driven by a caring father (Jorn Kjær) who works hard to provide for his entire household.

Despite their average financial status, Kjær’s family cherishes each other with affection and closeness.

The defender will never forget the place where his career expedition all began, where his career began. He is a native of Horsens, a city that houses about 59,966 people in Denmark.

Would you like to know?… His place of origin is known for its cultural and entertainment events. There is a New Theatre in Horsens that serves as a cultural center and hosts over 200 events each year.

In the opinion of his father, our boy grew up in an era in which players were judged by their physical appearance rather than by their innate abilities. It was necessary for him to look big to prove he could handle himself on the pitch. Moreover, he needed to be connected to prominent personalities before he could become a full-fledged player, or at least that’s how the system saw it.

Interestingly enough, he did not seem to be bothered by the limitations that threatened his success. His parents enrolled him in a small-time football academy (Lund IF) near Horsens. The defender had outgrown the facilities and technical provisions at Lund IF when he turned 15.

Seeing his career on the line, his father made contact with the professional soccer club – FC Midtjylland – where he worked. Thankfully, the academy accepted Kjær so his dad wouldn’t lose his job. However, they never thought he had any talent for the game.

This young lad worked hard to improve himself instead of getting upset by their disapproval of his abilities. In 2016, Kjær shocked his entire team by winning the best player award at the French youth tournament.

It is notable that he graduated from FC Midtjylland’s academy as one of the first players. Midtjylland eventually had Kjær sign a 5-year contract with the club after rejecting several transfer offers. Consequently, in 2007, the athlete made his senior debut in the Superliga.

Several prominent clubs discussed his departure from his team after his outstanding performance. Kjær ended up signing a 5-year contract with Palermo in 2008 for €4 million. His career with the Italian club suffered a setback due to his difficulty adapting to the competitions in Palermo’s defense.

Even so, he did well in his first two appearances for the club to impress many fans with his abilities. Kjær secured his spot as Palermo’s center-back within such a short period of time.

In addition to Danish, Kjær speaks five languages, including English and Italian (which he learned in Palermo). As a child, he idolized John Terry and Fabio Cannavaro and supported Liverpool. His mother, a teacher, was not supportive of him becoming a footballer.

Kjær was able to earn his diploma despite not enjoying studying in school. Kjær married his long-term girlfriend, Camilla. The two have been together since they were fifteen. They eventually broke up, and Kjær began a relationship with Swedish national, Elina Gollert. Together, they have two children, Milas and Viggo.

They were married in the summer of 2017. Kjær talked about superstitions, saying: “I believe in them, but I don’t practice them. Before every game, I wear the right sock.”

  • Kjær scored his first goal of the season a week later, in a 3–1 loss to Bologna on 8 November 2009. After a successful first season at Palermo, he was named Denmark’s 2009 Talent of the Year in November 2009, beating Arsenal’s Nicklas Bendtner and Ajax’s Christian Eriksen.
  • Additionally, in January 2010, he was named Danish Footballer of the Year for 2009. Kjær scored Palermo’s second goal against Cagliari the next day, as the match ended 2–1. Upon returning from suspension, he started the next ten league matches before being suspended again.

VfL Wolfsburg

  • VfL Wolfsburg confirmed on 30 June 2010 that it had opened talks with Kjær. There were reports of interest from teams across Europe, including Manchester United, Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur as well as Italian side Juventus.
  • Kjær’s signing was confirmed on 8 July 2010, when the club paid an undisclosed fee believed to be over £10 million. Kjær became the most expensive Danish footballer of all time when the deal was completed.
  • The move from Serie A to the Bundesliga meant that Kjær would become one of the most highly paid Danish footballers with an annual salary of around €3 million.
  • Morten Olsen and the player, himself, both agreed that the move to Wolfsburg was both financially feasible and a step in the right direction for the young Danish defender’s development.
  • Kjær made his unofficial debut for VfL Wolfsburg in a pre-season match against FC Augsburg, in which Wolfsburg won 1–0.
  • He made his VfL Wolfsburg debut on 15 August 2010, starting the entire game in a 2–1 victory against Preußen Münster in the first round of the DFB-Pokal. Five days later, on 20 August 2010, he made his Bundesliga debut for Wolfsburg in a 2–1 loss to Bayern Munich.
  • Despite a poor start to the season with Wolfsburg, with varying results and unmet expectations, Kjær scored his first goal for Wolfsburg in a 2–0 win over Stuttgart when he headed the ball over the line after a corner kick.
  • The goal was ultimately credited to Edin D*eko after it was shown that the ball deflected from Džeko’s shot.
Kjær started all 17 Bundesliga matches in the autumn 2010 season, despite widespread criticism from the media for his poor performances.
  • Following a successful partnership with Italy international Andrea Barzagli in Wolfsburg’s central defense, he then played alongside German international Arne Friedrich.
  • After seven straight drawn games, Kjær scored his first Bundesliga goal with a headed goal in the 83rd minute of a 1–0 win against Mainz 05, securing the first victory in eight matches for the club.
  • Felix Magath returned to Wolfsburg in February 2011 following the sacking of Steve McClaren due to further poor results (the manager guided the club to their first Bundesliga title) and criticized the ‘poor condition’ of the players he inherited (including Kjær) from McClaren. A public declaration of affection for Steve McClaren was made by Kjær following the dismissal.
  • Kjær apologized for the firing and said he was happy to work with Steve McClaren. Even after Magath’s comment, Kjær retained his first-team spot for the rest of the 2010-11 season, though it was met with frustration as the club narrowly avoided relegation the previous year and he had come under fire for some lackluster performances.
  • Despite being sidelined on three occasions during the 2010–11 season, he played 34 games and scored once across all competitions.
  • Kjær revealed in the summer transfer window of 2011 that Magath told him he was free to leave that summer, and that he had fallen out of favor with Magath. Kjær played four games for Wolfsburg before leaving for Roma amid transfer speculation.

Loan to Roma

  • Roma confirmed they will sign striker Kjær for €10 million from Wolfsburg as a replacement for Philippe Mexès, who left for AC Milan on a free transfer.
  • However, the transfer to Roma was put on hold after Wolfsburg recalled the defender, according to reports in Italy.
  • Kjær was instead loaned to Roma on 30 August 2011, with an option to buy at the end of the season.
The 17 September 2011 match at Inter Milan ended in a 0–0 draw for Kjær’s Roma debut. On 16 October 2011, however, he received a straight red card for a foul on Cristian Brocchi in the 50th minute, resulting in a penalty that was converted by the opposition team.
  • Due to suspension and injury concerns, Kjær missed the next four matches after the match. The club won 2–1 against Leece on 20 November 2011, when he returned to the starting line-up.
  • His return was short-lived when he sustained an injury that kept him sidelined for a month. When he returned to the starting line-up for Roma’s match against Fiorentina in the Round of 16 of the Coppa Italia on 11 January 2012, he helped the team keep a clean sheet, in a 3–0 win.
  • However, in Roma’s 4–2 loss to Cagliari on 1 February 2012, Kjær was at fault for his poor performance and was largely disappointing.
  • After the game, Roma director Walter Sabatini hinted that the club might decide not to sign Kjær on a permanent basis because of his poor performance. Throughout the rest of the 2011–12 season, he remained in the first team.
  • Kjær made 24 appearances throughout the 2011–12 season, despite being sidelined twice more. Following this, Roma decided not to sign Kjær permanently due to his poor performances.

Return to Wolfsburg

  • Kjær did not return to Wolfsburg after his loan spell at Roma ended after coach Magath decided the Dane would not be included in his first-team plans for 2012-13.
  • A few days later, Magath announced that he had changed his mind and was eager to integrate Kjær into Wolfsburg’s first team.
  • In Wolfsburg’s opening match of the 2012–13 season against VfB Stuttgart, he came on as a late substitute to win 1–0. Kjær missed the match against Hannover 96 due to a potential transfer to Galatasaray, which eventually fell through, but returned to the starting XI against FC Augsburg on 16 September 2012, drawing 0–0.
  • Both he and his Danish compatriot Thomas Kahlenberg were praised by Manager Magath after the match. Kjær, however, found himself on the substitute bench in the first three months of the season.
  • Following Magath’s sacking, he returned to the pitch against Fortuna Düsseldorf on 27 October 2012, helping the club win 4-1.
  • The following season, Kjær returned to the first team, playing in the center back position under the new management of Lorenz-Günther Köstner and Dieter Hecking. In a 1–1 draw with Hamburger SV on 2 December 2012, he scored his first goal of the season.
  • On 19 January 2013, Kjær assisted on the club’s second goal of the game in a 2–0 win over Stuttgart. He was dropped from the starting line-up for the next three matches after his performance against Hannover 96 on 26 January 2013.
