Mendes, who is of Angolan heritage and was born in Lisbon’s Sintra neighborhood, began playing football at the age of nine. As a child, he looked up to players like Marcelo and David Alaba, as well as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Bruno Botelho, a teacher at his school, would see him and extend an invitation for him to play for the neighborhood team Despertar in the suburbs of Lisbon. He attracted the attention of Benfica, Porto, and Sporting CP after swiftly making a name for himself. At the age of 10, he joined the latter’s youth program.
Mendes was one of a select number of young players who manager Rben Amorim called up to the first squad after the COVID-19 pandemic breakout in February, which resulted in an early conclusion to the youth football season. This was true even though Mendes had barely played once since November due to an injury. On June 12, 2020, he replaced Marcos Acua in the 72nd minute of his team’s 1-0 Primeira Liga victory at home against Paços de Ferreira to make his professional debut.
Mendes was selected first after the latter left for Sevilla in the off-season of 2020, making him the club’s youngest starter since Cristiano Ronaldo in September 2002. He went on to start six of his team’s last seven league games.
Mendes joined Paris Saint-Germain on a season-long loan with a purchase option on August 31, 2021. On September 11, he made his Ligue 1 debut for the team after substituting in the 85th minute in a 4-0 victory over Clermont. Four days later, he made his UEFA Champions League debut, coming on to replace Abdou Diallo 75 minutes into a 1-1 group-stage draw against Club Brugge.
He immediately made an impact on the field, most notably by making a “brilliant” run to set up a shooting opportunity for Lionel Messi in the 77th minute. Later on in the month, in a 2-1 victory over Lyon, he received his first start.
Soon after making his club debut, Mendes won his first cap for Portugal at the under-21 level in a 4-0 victory in Cyprus for the 2021 UEFA European Championship qualifications on September 4, 2020. He had represented the under-16, under-17, under-18, and under-19 age groups in the country.
Manager Fernando Santos called up Mendes to the senior squad six months later for matches against Azerbaijan, Luxembourg, and Serbia in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification. Later dropped from the under-21 team scheduled to compete in the finals. He made his debut with the latter on March 24, 2021, playing the full 1-0 win over Azerbaijan.
After his transfer to PSG, his net worth is $4 Million (as of 2022).

Erik Prince Net Worth, Age, Family, Wife, Height, Personal Life, Career, & Wiki
Table of Contents
Erik Dean Prince (born June 6, 1969) is an American businessman and the founder of the private military corporation Blackwater USA. He is a former U.S. Navy SEAL officer. He was the CEO of Blackwater until 2009, and then the chairman until the company was sold to a group of investors in 2010.
Prince is the founder of the Frontier Resource Group, a private equity business, and was the chairman of the Frontier Services Group, a Hong Kong-listed company, until 2021. Prince is the brother of former US Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos and the son of an engineer and businessman Edgar Prince.
Prince was born on June 6, 1969, in Holland, Michigan, the youngest of four children of Edgar D. Prince and his wife, Elsa (Zwiep). He attended Holland Christian High School and graduated with honours. The Prince and his father went on a globe trip together, seeing the Dachau concentration camp in Germany, divided Berlin, and the Normandy battlefields. These travels “made a great effect” on the young Prince, according to his mother.
From a personal standpoint, Erik Prince’s life has been sad. Despite the fact that he grew up in a privileged household and never had to worry about money, he did have to cope with some devastating personal losses. Edgar Prince, Eric’s father, died in 1995, at the age of 64, from a heart problem, while Eric was just 26 years old. Losing a parent at a young age is terrible for everyone, but it was especially painful for him since his grandpa, Peter Prince, died of a heart illness when he was only 36 years old in 1943 when his father Edgar was only 11 years old. Eric, in other words, had to be concerned for his own lifespan.
In addition to the aforementioned terrible past, Erik had to deal with the early death of his first wife Joan, who died of breast cancer at a young age in 2003. Erik was left with four small children after Joan died. He found a willing spouse to assist him to raise his four small toddlers, which was fortunate for him and his four young children. In 2004,he married Joanne Houck, his second wife. He had three more children with her as of 2011.
We’ll now turn our attention to Prince’s role with the Blackwater Corporation, which he started and grew into a major supplier of security troops for the US government’s protection of federal employees living in or visiting Iraq during the Iraq conflict. Erik had served as a seal in the US Navy, and he believed that the US Armed Services needed access to private security forces to assist them in the protection of its personnel and assets, based on his own experience as a seal and the attack of the USS Cole in the port of Aden, Yemen.
As a result, he established the Blackwater Corporation to supply these services. Erik is a practising Catholic, having converted in 1992.
Prince was able to get a contract to provide security for the US Department of State in Iraq after establishing Blackwater Corporation. The State Department has had a significant presence in Iraq, and ensuring security for State Department personnel was a must. Using the US Armed Forces for such a mission would have been far too inefficient and costly.
Blackwater was only one of many security firms hired by the US government to work in Iraq. The enormity of Blackwater made it stand out.
It was big, and it provided security for a high-profile group of people: State Department workers. Furthermore, Blackwater has a solid reputation for providing constant protection in extremely perilous situations. This usually necessitated the use of aggressive tactics. And it was the harsh tactics that were publicised in the media that generated issues for Blackwater. The fact that Blackwater had a track record of not losing any of the persons it was supposed to protect isn’t acknowledged. In other words, the State Department or the personnel it was supposed to protect never complained about Blackwater.
The above likely sums up the Blackwater Corporation’s operations. The firm was engaged in a very public activity: the protection of unarmed people in a dangerous area. The corporation was likewise enormous, with almost all of its income coming from the US government, or rather, the taxpayer. And, while its mission was successful in defending unarmed people, it usually needed controversial techniques. Erik Prince, the company’s chairman and sole owner, chose to rename it the XE Corporation at some point in 2010. In 2011, Prince opted to separate himself from the firm by selling it, however, it does not appear that he has totally broken connections with it.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was looking into Erik Prince’s suspected role in the attempted transfer of Jordanian armaments to the UAE-backed Khalifa Haftar as part of the 2019 plot. According to previous investigations, Prince and others broke the Libyan arms embargo. According to sources, Prince cooperated with Feisal ibn al-Hussein, a Jordanian prince, to orchestrate the sale and transport of aeroplanes and other equipment from Jordan to Libya. Christiaan Durrant, a Prince associate and an Australian pilot, tried to reassure Jordanian officials that he had “clearances from everywhere” and that the job had been approved “at the highest level.”
However, after Jordan rejected the agreement, Prince convened a meeting at the Army and Navy Club in the United States. The meeting, which was also attended by Durrant and a member of Donald Trump’s National Security Council, had an agenda in which Durrant detailed Prince’s Libyan effort to back Haftar to the NSC official and requested US cooperation. The UN has also monitored the transfer of three of Erik Prince’s planes to a close acquaintance for use in Libya. The jets were also said to have been transferred from the Prince’s firms to a mercenary firm located in the United Arab Emirates. Prince was not charged with a crime as a result of the investigations.
Prince was admitted into the United States Naval Academy and stayed for three semesters before departing, stating that he enjoyed the Navy but not the Academy. He went on to get his B.A. after that. Hillsdale College awarded him a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1992. He was a volunteer fireman and a cold-water diver with the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department during his tenure at Hillsdale. Prince went on to work as an EMT (emergency medical technician).
Prince relocated to Virginia Beach in 1997 and personally funded the establishment of Blackwater Worldwide. He purchased 6,000 acres (24 km2) in North Carolina’s Great Dismal Swamp and established a special operations school. The name “Blackwater” stems from the school’s location, which is surrounded by peat-coloured bogs.
Blackwater received $2 billion in government security contracts between 1997 and 2010, including more than $1.6 billion in unclassified federal contracts and an unknown amount of secret activity. From 2001 through 2010, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) gave Blackwater and its affiliates up to $600 million in confidential contracts. It grew to be the largest of the State Department’s three private security firms, with 987 personnel assigned to embassies and facilities across the world. Prince established a shooting range on his remote Virginia property to serve as a training facility for the CIA’s Langley headquarters.
Prince attributes his decision to start Blackwater to the 1994 Rwandan massacre. Later, he stated, “It disturbed me a lot. It taught me that you can’t just sit about pontificating. You must take action.”
After the Nisour Plaza tragedy in Baghdad in September 2007, when Blackwater operatives opened fire in a crowded square, killing 17 Iraqi civilians and gravely injuring another 20, Blackwater came under increased scrutiny. In October 2014, three guards were found guilty of 14 counts of manslaughter and one count of murder in a federal court in the United States.
After President Barack Obama took office in 2009, the criticism persisted. Prince feels that most of the criticism is motivated by politics. “I put myself and my firm at the disposal of the CIA for some extremely perilous operations,” Prince said in an interview with Vanity Fair in January 2010.
Someone threw me under the bus when it became politically convenient to do so.” After the Iraqi government declined to renew the company’s operating licence, Blackwater lost a $1 billion contract with the State Department to secure American diplomatic workers in 2009. Despite this, the Obama administration gave the corporation a $120 million security contract from the US Department of State and around $100 million in additional CIA work in 2010. Academi, Blackwater’s successor business, paid a total of $49.5 million in 2012 to resolve accusations of arms trafficking breaches dating back to Prince’s time as CEO and chairman.
Prince was the subject of another FBI investigation into arms trafficking offences in 2020, this time involving the conversion of crop dusters into military aircraft. According to a UN assessment, Prince also broke a UN arms embargo by assisting a conspiracy to supply a Libyan warlord who was aiming to undermine the US-backed Libyan government.
Prince has defended Blackwater’s work, claiming that just 200 of the company’s 40,000 personal security missions entailed guards discharging their firearms. He’s stated, “No one has ever died or been wounded while in our care. We managed to keep them safe while losing 30 of our own soldiers.”
According to author Robert Young Pelton, Prince views Blackwater’s connection with the military as “an effective, private answer to sclerotic and costly government bureaucracy,” comparable to FedEx’s cooperation with the US Post Office. He attributes the idea for a lighter, quicker army to his father’s competitive spirit in the car industry. On March 2, 2009, Prince resigned as CEO of Blackwater but remained chairman of the board until late 2010, when he sold the firm to a group of investors.
Prince stated he was providing seats on a chartered jet for $6,500 per passenger while Americans and others were being evacuated following the collapse of the Afghan government in August 2021.
Prince was a member of a CIA task squad tasked with assassinating suspected terrorists. Prince claimed that his name was released to the public by the House Intelligence Committee. Prince believes that after shutting down the clandestine CIA training project in 2009, former CIA Director Leon Panetta unmasked him as a CIA asset. Prince was hired by the crown prince of Abu Dhabi and went to Abu Dhabi in 2010 when Blackwater faced escalating legal troubles in the United States. His mission was to gather an 800-strong contingent of foreign troops for the United Arab Emirates, which had been prepared months before the Arab Spring.
He assisted the UAE in forming Reflex Responses, or R2, a new business with 51 per cent local ownership that he deliberately avoided mentioning in corporate records. He was in charge of overseeing the operation and recruiting personnel, including from Executive Outcomes, a former South African mercenary group employed by various African countries in the 1990s to suppress violent rebellions and preserve oil and diamond deposits.
Prince was training a force of 2,000 Somalis for anti-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden as of January 2011.
Several Arab countries, notably the United Arab Emirates, contributed to the initiative, which was sponsored by the United States. Mark Corallo, Prince’s spokesman, stated Prince had “no financial participation” in the project and refused to address any queries regarding his involvement. Maritime Underwater Security Consultant’ John Burnett stated, “Piracy can only be stopped on land, and 34 governments with naval capabilities are attempting to stop it. With Prince’s experience and legendary reputation, I believe it has a good chance of succeeding.”
Prince is the CEO of Frontier Resource Group, a private equity business, and the chairman of Frontier Services Group Ltd, a Bermuda-based logistics and transportation company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, until April 13, 2021. The Chinese government is the major investor in Frontier Services Group, which is supported by China’s state-owned CITIC Group and Hong Kong-based businessman Johnson Chun Shun Ko. Prince’s businesses advise and encourage Chinese oil and gas investment in Africa.
Prince’s intention to establish a diesel refinery in South Sudan, in which $10 million had already been committed, was reportedly halted in May 2014. Salva Kiir Mayardit, the country’s president, is said to have personally supported the stopped refinery project. South Sudan’s Ministry of Petroleum reportedly paid Frontier Services Group $23.3 million to deliver supplies and maintain oil-producing facilities. Three Mi-24 assault helicopters and two L-39 planes, as well as the services of Hungarian mercenary pilots to operate the aircraft, were sold to the government of South Sudan for $43 million dollars. One of the Hungarian pilots gained notoriety after bragging on his Facebook page about his daily kills.
Frontier Services Group obtained shares in two Kenyan aircraft firms, Kijipwa Aviation and Phoenix Aviation, to offer logistical services for the country’s oil and gas industry, as part of Prince’s Africa-focused investment strategy. The Kenya Civil Aircraft Authority refused to renew Kijipwa Aviation’s aviation certificate in October 2014.
Prince also bought a 25% share in Airborne Technologies, an Austrian aircraft firm. Prince hired the business in 2014 to outfit Thrush 510G crop-dusters with surveillance technology, machine guns, armour, and other armaments, as well as modified pylons that could accommodate NATO or Russian ballistics.
Shortly before a contract with Frontier Services Group was cancelled, one of the modified crop dusters was given to Salva Kiir Mayardit’s army in South Sudan. Frontier Services Group has two of the modified Thrush 510Gs, but the business has refused to sell or use them since learning they had been armed by Prince, in order to avoid breaking US export rules.
The New York Times reported in May 2018 that Prince convened a meeting in Trump Tower in August 2016 attended by himself, Donald Trump, Jr., George Nader, and Joel Zamel, during which Nader reportedly told Trump Jr. that the crown princes of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates were eager to help his father win the election, and Zamel pitched a social media manipulation campaign from his Israeli firm Psy-Group. Prince testified to the House Intelligence Committee in November 2017 that he had no formal interactions or contact with the Trump campaign and played no unofficial role in it. When asked about the discrepancy in March 2019, Prince said, “I’m not sure if [the Committee] got the transcript wrong” and that “not all of the discussion that day was recorded, and that’s a fact.”
In March 2019, Prince admitted for the first time that he had attended the 2016 Trump Tower meeting, claiming that he was there to “discuss Iran policy.”
Special Counsel investigators looked into a meeting held in Seychelles on January 11, 2017, and attended by UAE Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (also known as “MBZ”). Nader and Kirill Dmitriev, the CEO of the state-owned Russian Direct Investment Fund, who is close to Vladimir Putin, were also present at the meeting.
According to reports, UAE officials assumed Prince was representing Trump’s transition team and Dmitriev was representing Putin. According to the Washington Post, the Seychelles meeting was “part of an apparent effort to establish a back-channel line of communication between Moscow and President-elect Donald Trump,” according to American, European, and Arab sources. In November 2017, Prince testified before the House Intelligence Committee, denying that he represented the Trump transition or that the meeting featured any back-channel communications.
The Special Counsel had gathered evidence that contradicted Prince, according to the Washington Post, and ABC News reported on April 6, 2018, that Nader had met with Prince at a Manhattan hotel days before the Seychelles meeting and later provided him with biographical information about Dmitriev, according to ABC News.
Nader had represented Prince to Dmitriev, according to the Mueller investigation “Steve [Bannon] has asked me to see you! I know him and he is very well connected and trusted by the New Team,” while Prince “acknowledged that it was reasonable for Nader to expect Prince to share information with the Transition Team.” “, despite the fact that Bannon claimed Prince had not informed him of the Dmitriev meeting ahead of time. Although the Mueller investigation indicated that Prince and Nader made extensive arrangements to see Dmitriev, Prince said to the House Intelligence Committee that “I didn’t fly there to meet any Russian man.”
Although Prince described a second meeting with Dmitriev in a hotel bar as a chance meeting of no consequence, the meeting was actually pre-arranged after Prince learned from calls home that Russia had moved an aircraft carrier off the coast of Libya, and he wanted to convey that the US would not accept any Russian involvement in Libya.
On April 30, 2019, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff said that he was referring Prince to the Justice Department for a criminal referral, saying that he gave misleading testimony to the committee.
On February 4, 2020, United States Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd revealed that the Department of Justice was investigating Prince.
Prince reportedly headed to Venezuela on December 30, 2019, to meet with a key assistant to Nicolas Maduro. Prince has been submitted to the US Treasury Department for alleged breaches of the Maduro government’s sanctions.
According to the New York Times, Prince has been recruiting former CIA officers to infiltrate “Democratic congressional campaigns, labour organisations, and other groups considered antagonistic to the Trump agenda” in recent years. Prince’s efforts were purportedly made to help Project Veritas, a highly reviled conservative outfit that has been accused of propagating “organised misinformation” owing to its recurrent use of fraudulently manipulated films to undermine Democrats, the media, and left organisations. Richard Seddon, a veteran British spy, oversaw the plans’ field operations and trained agents at the Prince ranch in Wyoming until mid-2018.
Prince is also said to have arranged for Project Veritas staff to obtain intelligence training, which ended when the trainer departed because the group “couldn’t learn.” After the group’s failure to report to state authorities the criminal conviction of its creator, James O’Keefe, the organization’s charity organisation registration was revoked in various states, and other donors withdrew their financial support, Prince continued to fund it.
The New York Times revealed in May 2021 that Project Veritas surreptitiously surveilled federal personnel under the Trump administration with the help of a former British spy and Erik Prince, with the purpose of discrediting perceived Trump adversaries.
Arranging dates for FBI workers with the intention of recording them was one of the tactics used. Despite enormous expenses, including the renting of an upscale Georgetown residence, the operation failed to film a single official criticising Trump.
The Intercept revealed in April 2020 that Prince had offered his services as a subcontractor to the Russian Wagner group’s operations in Mozambique and Libya, implying airborne surveillance platforms and a ground force. Based on an internal UN assessment, investigations by Rolling Stone and The New York Times have now identified a number of ties between Prince and Libyan warlord Khalifa Haftar’s attempts to undermine the UN-backed government in 2019.
Erik Prince proposed an $80 million agreement to Libyan militia commander Khalifa Haftar on April 14, 2019, to supply planes and other military equipment. The procurement of surplus military helicopters from Jordan was dubbed Project Opus. The plan called for Haftar’s troops to be supplied with intelligence surveillance planes, drones, armed assault helicopters, maritime interdiction, and cyber intelligence and targeting capabilities. The project, however, was shelved in June of this year. The Prince’s initiative was planned, managed, and funded by three businesses based in the United Arab Emirates: Lancaster 6 DMCC, L-6 FZE, and Opus Capital Asset Limited FZE, all of which used a network of shell corporations.
Lancaster 6 and Opus Capital Asset, two Emirati corporations, were linked to a group of private mercenaries and the rare Pilatus PC-6 ISR aircraft dispatched to Libya to help Haftar. A crop duster, the LASA T-Bird, was also owned by the UAE’s L-6 FZE and was part of Erik Prince’s Project Opus. The Light, Attack, and Surveillance Aircraft (LASA), which made its debut at the Paris Air Show in 2017, travelled to Serbia for repair in August 2018, according to a UN report published in March 2021. According to the UN, the ‘agricultural’ plane was modified to carry a 32-57mm Rocket Pod, a 16-57mm Rocket Pod, and a gun pod equipped with twin 23mm guns under the aircraft’s wings.

There is a lot to learn about Wout Weghorst’s Childhood Story, Early Life, Parents – Astrid Weghorst (Mum), Frans Weghorst (Dad), Brothers (Niek, Twan, and Ralf), and Family Life in this biography.
It doesn’t just end there, we’re going to tell you interesting facts about Dutch striker Nikki Van Esch’s Wife (Nikki Van Esch), Daughters, Lifestyle, Personal Life and Net Worth, etc.
In a nutshell, this biography is about Wout Weghorst’s Full Life History from birth to death. Wout is often referred to as the Jamie Va Rely of the Netherlands because he has come to prominence from the depths of football obscurity.
I am going to tell you the story of a footballer with a rich family heritage. This is a family that has built its wealth through oil and gas. Among Wout Weghorst’s family members, only he seemed to see the possibility of a future in football.
Many people believed he wouldn’t be able to make it far in football, even his family members. The reason for this is because, in the beginning, Wout wasn’t that good at the sport. It was only through his parents’ connection (through his mother) that he was able to get to higher places in life. The Bailer has never let anyone down since then.
In order to whet your appetite for the captivating nature of Wout Weghorst’s autobiography, we are presenting you with an overview of the Dutch star’s Early Life and Rise here. The Life Journey of the Dutch Football Giant is explained in this introduction.
I am sure that all football strikers like to score goals, and the Dutch striker with a height of 6 feet 6 inches is no exception. In the Netherlands forward’s eyes, every goal he scores is a defiant YES in the face of a thousand NOES he received along his journey through life.
Although he has been lauded for his bravery in front of the goal, we nevertheless notice a gap. The fact is that not a lot of football fans have read an in-depth version of the biography of Wout Weghorst. For this reason, we have prepared this memoir. Now, without further ado, let’s get started with the journey.
In terms of his biography, he is known as Die Wolfe (German for Wolf) because of the nickname he bears. The 7th of August 1992 was a special day in the life of Mr. Weghorst, as he was born in Borne, Netherlands, to his mother, Astrid Weghorst, and his father, Frans Weghorst.
It seemed, among all the children that Astrid had, that getting pregnant with Wout was different. As a result of the way he kicks, his mother could never help but feel like she was carrying a footballer around in her stomach.
Wout’s parents and two siblings observed another behavior upon the birth of their son. The observation occurred when he began to walk when he was only three months old.
Wout was fond of rolling up his full diapers and tossing them from the top of the stairs as soon as he was able. Did anyone know that, as he did that, this young man was simply warming up for the future that lay ahead of him?
Wout Weghorst was not the first, but the third child of his family when he came into the world. This is a family consisting of four soldiers (all of them boys). Our research indicates that Wout Weghorst does not have any sisters. The names of his brothers are Niek Weghorst, Twan Weghorst, and Ralf Weghorst.
The children were all born into the family as a result of their blissful marriage between their parents, Astrid and Frans Weghorst. Here are the names of the people who brought Twan, Ralf, Wout, and Neik into the world. Their children have been given four-letter names like these.
It cannot be denied that the Dutch professional footballer comes from an affluent family, one whose members have a stable financial future. The Weghorst family is involved in the oil and gas industry as well. The Weghorst family is one of the wealthiest families in Borne, the Netherlands.
In the oil and gas industry, Avia is the name of the company. The company that is a wholesaler and retailer of fuel and gas has been around for generations. The Wout Weghorst family owned approximately 130 petrol stations in the Netherlands alone at the end of 2021.
The subject matter of his household was always about him. I would like to point out that one of the best things about the Wout Weghorst Family is that they are very close-knit. The lives of his parents Astrid Weghorst and Frans Weghorst (his parents) were planned from an early age.
Wout was very different from the rest of his brothers. His life’s ambition made him different from the rest of his brothers. As a result of that, he became an even bigger topic of interest to his mother (Astrid).
Firstly, let me tell you a little more about the Footballer’s Dutch roots and his education before we get deeper into what made him unique.
Dutch nationality is the nationality of the Striker. Borne, a town with a population of approximately 23,000, is located in the Eastern region of the Netherlands. This municipality, which is located in the Dutch province of Overijssel, is the origin of Wout Weghorst’s family.
In the Dutch province of Twente, Borne is a municipality close to the border with Germany. The people who live in this town have a nickname, Melbuul. Wout’s origin, Borne, was essentially an agricultural town, characterized mostly by heavy clay soil and extensive cattle farming, up until the dawn of the industrial age.
Historically, Wout Weghorst’s family is aligned with the Dutch Low Saxon dialect from an ethnic perspective. This is a group of people who speak the Dutch language and are descended from a group of people who live in West Germany. In spite of the fact that the language is still spoken, the number of people who speak it is decreasing.
Lower Saxony used to be largely inhabited by Germanic tribes in olden days. It was under the leadership of Duke Widukind, that they engaged in a series of legendary battles against Charlemagne, during the late eighth century.
It is from his family home that the Dutch Superstar began his schooling. In the early years, Weghorst’s parents were his first teachers, and they played a key role in shaping his character.
It is a known fact that the Dutch consider school to be a Plan B rather than a Plan A. It is no secret that plan A was to become a professional footballer.
After reaching an agreement with his parents, Wout made sure he never disappointed them by not attending school. During his time in Holland, Wout studied up to the level of a university student.
According to our research, Wout has two university degrees in his name. The first of these degrees is one he earned in the field of Business Administration. He came up with the idea for this course due to the need to use his Business Administration knowledge in the family’s oil and gas business.
His second bachelor’s degree focuses more on his football career than his first bachelor’s degree. Wout earned a degree in top sports management and entrepreneurship at the university level as well.
It is true that before he agreed to educate himself up to a university level, he had an argument with his father and mother. Upon learning what Wout had chosen to do with his life, Astrid and Frans were astonished at what he had chosen to do. In spite of his parent’s wishes, he told them that he wanted to be a professional footballer.
It’s a fact that none of Wout Weghorst’s family members has ever played professional football. Furthermore, his parents wanted their sons to take up other professions instead. Particularly when it comes to a business that is related to the family’s business or one that is deemed prestigious.
In trying to uncover what their sons (Twan, Ralf, Wout, and Niek) wanted to do in life, their third son’s response became an issue for Astrid and Frans.
The parents of Wout Weghorst became worried that he (their third child) was going after an impossible dream. His parents were not comfortable with the idea that he wanted to be a professional football player. Therefore, they advised him to think about it again.
It was the parents of Weghorst that encouraged him to try to find an alternative. He wanted to pursue a more sensible career rather than football. Wout’s mother, Astrid Weghorst, and father, Frans Weghorst, thought that he should follow in the footsteps of his older brothers and follow the career path they had chosen to pursue.
It is pertinent to note that the first son of the family (Twan) had already made up his mind that he would like to become a pilot in the future. As for Ralph, he chose to become an architect. The baby of the house (Niel) agreed to take a course that is relevant to the family business.
Ultimately, Wout was able to find his way. It seemed that he was adamant about becoming a footballer – which he swore he would be. Additionally, the highly intelligent boy assured his parents that he would go to school. It is for this reason that he earned two degrees.
The aspiring Bailer, as mentioned earlier, did not agree with his parents in terms of his career choice. Despite the odds, Wouter remained firm in his belief that he would follow the path to becoming a professional footballer.
Even the intervention of well-meaning people (who are close to his family) could not make a difference. He says, “Now you have to make up your mind”.
I was told by countless well-meaning people, ‘Forget football – you’re not good enough to play it’. They were very persuasive in their approach.
During a recent interview with the Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung, Wout Weghorst had these words to say. After he rejected their advice, there came a perception about him that was not true. In the past, many people have referred to Wout’s dedication to football as being delusional.
It is just because he wasn’t even good at the sport in the first place. However, he has an outstanding mentality that has kept him going. It was also noted that he had a never-give-up approach to his quest to become a better footballer.
At the beginning of his career, Weghorst played at an amateur level with his local team, the NEO. Certainly, he didn’t seem like he would be able to make it all the way to the end. Simply put, Wout was one of the worst footballers among all of his teammates. In spite of that, the youngster always believed that he had what it took to succeed in the game.
The belief is, that Wout Weghorst’s self-belief to make it in football came at a time when nobody shared his confidence in making it. At some point, his parents (particularly his mother, Astrid Weghorst) began to support and find ways to help him in his quest to play football.
When he played amateur football at NEO and then DETO (2010 to 2021), Wout (again) did not look like the ideal Superstar when he was an amateur player. As a matter of fact, his early playing days were pretty similar to Denzel Dumfries’. While both had a passion for the game, neither was very good at it.
During this time, Wout played for the DETO Twenterand academy, whose senior team plays in the fourth division of the Dutch Football League. In a similar way to Jamie Vardy, all he needed was a way up to achieve success. Thanks to a link from one of Wout Weghorst’s parents (his mother), I was able to find it.
Although the football-obsessed kid didn’t have the skills required to pass football trials, he still wanted to be a part of a bigger club. With a bit of luck, Wout Weghorst ended up in Willem II Tilburg, which is a Dutch football club in Tilburg. But it wouldn’t have happened if not for family connections. Without his beloved mother (Astrid), it would not have been possible.
I am grateful that Wout Weghorst’s mother (Astrid) was friends with the wife of Jan van Esch, the then director of Willem II. Each time she meets her friends, they will discuss their respective children.
Wout Weghorst’s mother Astrid Weghorst (Wout’s mother) was always speaking well of her son’s football ambitions while they talked. Her friend was so excited about the boy’s mentality after she heard that. It was as a way of contributing her quota to the boy that she told her husband about the son of a friend of hers named Wout.
Jan van Esch (Astrid’s friend’s husband) was so inspired that he decided to send scouts to watch their son. We were not disappointed with the scouting report on Wout Weghorst. We are pleased with the outcome. It was through this process that Wout was able to make his way to the Eredivisie team, Willem II.
The move to a new team brought with it a host of new challenges for the Dutch star. He was not only expected to improve his gameplay but also to become a better leader. However, Wout began to experience a growth spurt. The increase in his height that took place during his teenage years resulted in a worsening of his technical skills.
It was difficult for me to sort my feet out,” he said.
It was once said in an interview that the then thin, lanky striker said.
Although Wout graduated from the Willem II academy, the club’s management did not deem him worthy of competing in the club’s first team.
Despite being given the opportunity to make his way into the first team, Wout never managed to do so. As a result, the club was disappointed.
As a result, they sell him to the available suitors. Wout was sold to FC Emmen, a lower-division club in the Netherlands. At the time, this club played in the lower division of the Netherlands football league.
During his first season, he scored 12 goals which earned him a move to Heracles Almelo, where Peter Bosz was the coach. The experience of playing with top-level professionals was not only strange for Wout but also an unwelcome eye-opener. He observed everything moving at a pace that was way too fast for him to keep up with.
Despite all this, Weghorst didn’t give up. Despite the fact that he was blessed with significantly less natural talent than the rest of the footballers in his neighborhood. The only thing he ever did was find a way to improve on his game day in and day out. During that time, Wout went through a self-analysis in-depth and also had extra training hours.
When he needed time to prove his worth, he faced lots of doubters who questioned the way he played. In spite of his age, Wout played amateur football at 20 and a lot of his teammates also played the game – more for the fun of it. In this case, they were footballers (mostly his teammates) who went to parties mostly on Friday evenings.
As his goal, he wanted to push himself hard and strive to become a professional. Although it was not easy for him, he was someone who was always willing to work on improving himself.
In his own words;
As a kid, I never believed I couldn’t make it. My parents always told me I should also see what I want to do later if it doesn’t work out. But I said: “No, I can do it and become a better professional!”.
Thanks to the dedication, more goals were achieved as a result. In 2015, Wout was lucky enough to be signed by AZ Alkmaar in the Eredivisie. Nevertheless, some fans are still doubting him even at this point in time. They accused him of being too ungainly for the tastes of Dutch football fans. Some AZ fans claimed he had a lot of brute force, and that wasn’t what they wanted in a striker.
The fans in this section have said that they prefer their strikers to be fast and tricky. In other words, to be an elegant footballer in the mold of Dennis Berakam 2. A few years later, these fans finally got their wish – a fast player in the person of Myron Boadu.
The truth of the matter is that Weghorst’s old-fashioned striking routine, on the other hand, failed to capture the hearts of his own fans. Adding insult to injury, it was Wout’s angry demeanor on the pitch that got a lot of people upset. Adding insult to injury, he was the type of player who caused a great deal of trouble on the pitch. Occasionally, the Dutch striker would argue a lot with the referees, the opponents, and even the coaches.
This is to say that the Dutch footballer has started the 2017-2018 season with excellent form. In 29 appearances across all competitions, Wout has scored 20 goals.
A feat such as this earned him his first international call-up. A feat such as this earned him his first call-up to Ronald Koeman’s Dutch squad of March 2018. For the sake of silence his critics, Wout Weghorst ended the season as the joint-third top scorer in the Eredivisie.
As a result, he had 18 goals, tying with Steven Berghuis. The pair finished behind the top scorers – Alireza Jahanbakhsh (with 21 points) and the runner-up Bjorn Johnsen (with 19 points). Az fans, who heavily criticized him before he scored these goals, started to love him after he scored these goals for them.
In less than two weeks following the conclusion of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, VfL Wolfsburg announced the signing of Wout Weghorst on a four-year contract.
After being loaned out to Alkmaar (AZ) by Wolfsburg’s sporting director Olaf Rebbe, Wout was on the radar of the club’s sporting director. A video of his emotional farewell to the AZ fans has been posted on YouTube.
For the first time, he will be leaving behind his parents and brothers when he joins VfL Wolfsburg. The 16th of March was the date on which Wout scored his first hat-trick for the German club.
As a result of his actions, he became the first player for the club since Mario Gomez in April 2017 to achieve that feat.
Wout finished his first Wolfsburg season with 17 goals as a result of his commitment at top form. I noticed that he paired with five names for the same number of goals.
I would like to mention the names of Andrej Kramaric, Kai Havertz, Luke Jovic, and Marco Reus.
The only players who scored more goals than Wout Weghorst were Paco A taco- (BVB) and Robert Letoarcowski (Bayern Munich). Following that season, The Dutch striker in a ‘target man’ type role continued to produce more impressive goal returns the following seasons.
Weghorst has proven something to the world in no uncertain terms. In order to be and feel confident, believing in yourself is a big part of the equation.
There is a similar story to Jamie Vardy’s rise to top-flight football in the rise of the Dutch footballer. This is why the Athletic refers to him as Holland’s taller, the chunkier answer to the Leicester. It was thanks to his mother and others who stood by him that Wout finally achieved his dream of playing football.
Although he may not be the player that has the greatest footballing skills from the start. It is because of their great minds of his that he has been able to win the battle against the many odds stacked against him. The rest of his biography is a piece of history.
In this section of his bio, you will find information regarding his love life. This page contains all the information you need to know about Wout Weghorst’s girlfriend. You can also learn what his relationship status is at the moment.
Wout fell in love in the year 2011, while he was still playing academy football. It was in August 2011, specifically, that he began dating someone named Nikki Van Esch. Now, let’s take a look at what made the Striker’s childhood sweetheart the sweetheart he is today.
In my opinion, she is the one who put the most smile on his face. This is especially true when he is going through difficult times in his career. It all started in August 2011 when Wout and Nikki began their relationship. They have been together for more than a decade now.
Nikki Van Esch is highly educated, a woman with a beautiful personality as well as a brain. The research indicates that she attended Nantong Textile & Vocational Technology College. It is a technical school that is located in Nantong, China.
In more recent times, Nikki Van Esch has enrolled at the Saxion University of Applied Sciences. Upon graduating from university, she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering and Management.
Nikki van Esch has a lot of experience in the fashion and textile industry. Throughout the Netherlands and Germany, the WAG is known for being a long-term partner of Wout Weghorst.
Similar to her husband (Wout), Nikki Van Esch is also a Dutch national. As a result of her birth in the Netherlands, she has the zodiac sign of Aquarius as her star sign. There is only one sibling in her family, a sister named Dide van Esch, and she is very close to her family.
It is in Nikki Van Esch’s Instagram bio that she describes herself as the mother of Juul and Lucie. Juul and Lucie are the children of Wout Weghorst. On the 17th day of August 2018, Juul (his first child) was born to him.
It was decided that Wout and Nikki would wait for another two years before adding another member to their family. On the 17th day of April 2020, they became the parents of another girl, Lucie Mary Jo, who was born on the same day. Take a look at the lovers (Wout and Nikki) and their daughters.
When Nikki van Esch finally became the wife of Wout Weghorst;
As a result of being together for 10 years, I had to ask you: How did you fare with me during that time?
In his narrating of the proposal he made to his best friend of 10 years, Wout Weghorst told his fans those words as he recounted the proposal he made to them. It was precisely on the 28th day of August 2021 that he asked Nikki Van Esch for her hand in marriage. And what a way to celebrate the decade of their love story!
Aside from his love for football, the first thing you will notice about the Holland bomber is that he is a Super-Father. Wout is a good father who has left his mark on his daughters – for the rest of their lives.
There is always a separate room in the house of his family. Wout sleeps there alone most of the time on the three nights before a big game.
The Dutch strikers are the type of people who like to sleep uninterrupted during the night. Especially when it comes to Nikki’s daughters (Juul and Lucie), who want her attention at night. As a result, Wout is likely to perform better on the pitch if he sleeps well.
The Weghorst family is one of the wealthiest in the world. His parents (Astrid and Frans Weghorst) have enough money to provide a comfortable life for his wife and children for a lifetime.
A true enthusiast, the 6-foot-6 striker is a true professional. He is not a footballer who plays for money, but for the love of the game. It is more likely that he plays for the cocktail or for pride and honor.
With a fat bank account in sight, Wout personally rejected big monies from Cardiff despite having a fat bank account. Due to the fact that he did not want to chase money, he personally pulled the plug on the contract negotiation.
Wout has a very different attitude towards life than most people. At the time, his teammates at NEO often went to parties a few days before a game. At the moment, he does not go out to parties or clubs.
Even though he was blessed with far less talent than those around him, the Dutch Bailer maintained his position despite his lack of natural talent. Wout had the attitude to put in extra shifts despite his lack of talent. The fact is, he does not do an in-depth self-analysis – with the belief that he would improve his game if he did.
As an arrogant player about what he believes to be the wrong things, Wout is the type of player who often gets into arguments with referees and opponents on the pitch. He often speaks his mind quickly and without hesitation. There are also occasions when he gets into arguments with coaches.
A person who doesn’t act professionally towards him is going to be told straight to their faces if they don’t act professionally. While he was a member of Emmen’s U-21 team, Wout publicly complained about food injustices. It was discussed that pre-match meals consisted of burgers, mashed potato balls, and deep-fried chicken, which he did not like at all.
Having the tendency to get bigger, the Dutch footballer always keeps a close eye on his diet because he has a tendency to grow big. In addition, he also does extra training sessions and daily-study videos of himself.
There are many ways in which the Dutch footballer spends quality time with his family that explain his lifestyle. Let’s now talk about what Wout does to create this sense of belonging.
In the summer, Wout Weghorst’s family often visits Ibiza during their summer vacations. You can’t find an experience like this anywhere else on this planet, if you haven’t been there before. Here you can see Nikki, Wout, Juul, and Lucie having fun with mother nature.
In addition to the summer holidays, the winter holidays are also a special time for the wealthy Dutch family. One of the best vacation destinations during winter break is Austra. The family of Wout enjoys alpine sports during their time there.
The members of his household are all diligent and hardworking. It starts with his parents, and then goes on to his brothers and sisters. As a team, they have put a lot of effort into building an oil and gas empire. We would like to take this opportunity to tell you a bit more about the Wout’s family. Let’s begin by talking about Frans, his father.
The father of the footballer, Frans, runs a successful oil trade business in Borne, the Netherlands. The company owned by Wout Weghorst’s father, Frans, is currently called AVIA Weghorst. The oil trade business has grown tremendously during the past few years. The oil and gas company was founded by Frans Weghorst’s grandfather.
Frans Weghorst is an oil and gas mogul who is also interested in executive football management in addition to being an oil and gas mogul. It was once upon a time when he ran for the position of General Manager for FC Twente. It was at this time that the club’s board parted ways with former CEO Eric Velderman.
The reason why Frans Weghorst did not apply for the job was that he has football experience. In reality, he did that because he has a Twente heart. In his intention, he made it clear that he was not looking for money, as he was already rich and financially dependent on his parents.
Later on, it was reported that Wout Weghorst’s father had joined the Supervisory Board of FC Twente. Following the appointment of Frans Weghorst to the Supervisory Board of Twente, the Supervisory Board now comprises three members. The two other members are Dennis Schipper and Koen Groenewold.
As part of Frans’ role for FC Twente, he was tasked with developing a financial rescue plan. The plan came at a time when the club was desperately in need of finance. During the second world war, Frans provided help via De Noabers, an agency that he pioneered.
De Noabers is located in Grutbroek, 7008 AN Doetinchem, in the Netherlands. This is a regional investor group that came to the rescue of FC Twente during its financial crisis. The club, with the help of Wout Dad, has received an investment of 14 million euros from the organization.
Astrid works for the family business, AVIA, as an executive. She was strong support for her son in the early stages of his career as a footballer.
Without Astrid’s help, it would not have been possible for Wouter to enroll in Willem II. Wie Weghorst’s mother was friends with the wife of Jan van Esch, who was the director of Willem II when Weghorst’s mother was a child.
In those days, the youngster had the opportunity to get scouted because of his Mother’s relationship with Van Esch’s family.
In the opinion of the Dutch footballer, his siblings are his closest friends. Because of this, there is a strong bond between them.
He often says that he never really had any friends. In his opinion, that was one of the things that he always had trouble with. According to him, he never belonged anywhere and was always on his own. We are now going to talk about the brothers of the Dutch football giant.
It is our understanding that Twan Weghorst is a pilot who drives the Boeing 737. In addition to being a pilot for Emirates, he has also been a pilot for KLM Royal Dutch, Emirate, and others. Twan has an exceptionally close bond with Astrid, his mum.
Twan Weghorst, who wants to become a pilot, tried his hand at football before becoming a pilot. In research, it turns out that the older brother of Wout played for RKSV NEO before hanging up his boots. I would like to conclude by saying that Twan Weghorst is married to Ueke Velner.
Astrid and Frans, the parents of Ralph, are the second sons of Astrid. In addition to this, he is also known for being Wolf Weghorst’s immediate older brother. It is fair to say that Ralf Weghorst is an architect in terms of his profession. It is also important to know that Ralf has a passion for cooking.
AVIA, the company owned by the family, quotes Niek Weghorst as one of their management executives. Wout’s younger brother is the Commercial Director of the oil and gas company where he works.
He is described here as inspecting a facility with his dad (Frans Weghorst). He is accompanied by Niels Seinen, another director. Did you notice that? He resembles his father more than his own son.
Niek Weghorst, the brother of Weghorst, is an expert in the oil and gas business. Niek Weghorst has devoted his whole life to his family’s business. His parents, Frans and Astrid, are the last born of a family of nine children.
After the birth of Juul (Wout’s first daughter), his grandmamma requested to see her soon after the birth. Being able to see her Grandchild brings a new life into her heart. More importantly, it makes Wout feel like he is a proud father.
On a typical footballing Saturday, there could be around ten Weghorst scions heading to Germany in the direction of their homeland. It would be for the purpose of watching Wout’s Wolfsburg games.
For this journey, Wout Weghorst’s relatives – his nephews and uncles – are expected to accompany him as well. In addition to the Bailer family, the Bailer brothers and parents are also present on the trip.
The mother-in-law of Wout Weghorst often pays the most visits to his immediate family out of all of his relatives. Nikki Van Esch, who is Wout’s wife and also her daughter, has a special bond with her mother. Both Nikki and her mother enjoy picking berries together.
As we conclude the biography of the Dutch Giant 6 feet 6 inches tall, in this section we will tell even more truths about him. I will begin by revealing some of the important facts about him.
It all started in 1931 when coal and peat production boomed in the Netherlands. In the post-second world war era, AVIA’s focus shifted from coal and peat to liquid heating fuels.
I am writing this Bio at the moment when the family business is now focusing on liquid motor fuels. It now supplies fuel to more than 130 of its filling stations in the north, east and central parts of the Netherlands.
One interesting fact about AVIA is that the 4th generation of Weghorst’s family works there. The fifth generation of Frans and Astrid has already been born, comprising the grandchildren of the couple. So far, we only know about Juul and Lucie, the daughters of Wout and Nikki Van Esch.
Have you ever wondered who Wout Weghorst’s idol is? Well, his name is Lad Litmanen. The former striker from Finland played for Ajax and FC Barcelona under Louis van Gaal. The former player also played for Liverpool alongside Michael Owen and Steven Gerrard. When he was a child, Wout met his idol.
His left arm contains creative designs and tattoo combinations that contain meaningful words. This is according to Wout.
I feel it reminds me of the steps I have taken in my life and in my professional career. They are the pieces of the story of my life.
The statement above is referring to Wout Weghorst’s tattoos on his biceps. It is the muscle on the front part of the left arm which is the biceps.
There is a special meaning behind each of Wout’s tattoos. The tattoos are not only about football but also about his life. He has one (attached with a brief prayer) for his parents (Ralf and Astrid), as well as two for himself. As a final note, Wout has tattoos for his daughters (Jul and Lucie) and wife (Nikki Van Esch).
It is said that some people refer to Wout as the Dutch Olivier Giroud, but with a faster pace. I think he has similar characteristics to Nigeria striker Paul Onuachu and Ivory Coast striker Sebastien Haller.
It is evident from his FIFA stats that Wout Weghorst excels most when it comes to his power and strength. He is also a great attacker and possesses excellent mental attributes as well.
A couple of decades back, AZ fans had a negative perception of Wout. It was only when they noticed an untold version of Wout Weghorst’s personality that public perception changed.
Several media sources have reported that the Dutch footballer was regularly visiting a pensioner in a care home during his spare time, according to reports. Then why did he visit the old person?
Weghorst was watching a program about loneliness among the elderly when he was a youngster. The program touched him deeply. As a result, he decided to dedicate some time in his week to visiting an elderly man who lived alone. This is something that he did over the course of many months.
Fans of Arizona got to find out after a TV show revealed that his old friend had passed away. When Wout learned of the old man’s illness and eventual death, he became very concerned and upset.
Having mourned the death of the man, Wout made a resolution. Having said that, he promised that he would never spend time with that person again. This was because he was afraid of being too emotionally involved with that person.
It was the dream of the huge 1.97m (6 feet 6 inches) striker to be a part of the England national team. However, nothing could be more important than his desire to play for Liverpool. Earlier, it was mentioned that Jeri Litmanen (his idol) played for the Reds. This may have been the reason why Wout followed Liverpool as a child. The fact that he dreams of playing for them may also have something to do with it.
To date, the Dutch professional footballer has not identified himself as a part of an ideological group. His parents and brothers are also in the same boat, as can be observed in their social media profiles. It is estimated that 54% of Dutch citizens do not belong to a specific religion.

In a match against Dordrecht on 10 August 2012, he made his debut, which ended in a 1–1 draw.
The Emmen player would go on to score his first goal in professional football one month after this, in the derby against Veendam, a match that was ultimately a 2-1 victory for Emmen.
The player played in 28 matches in his debut season, scoring eight goals in the process. After Weghorst’s spell with Emmen ended, he signed a contract with Eredivisie club Heracles Almelo on a free transfer.
Weghorst made his Eredivisie debut for Heracles Almelo on 9 August, taking part in a 0-3 home loss against AZ Alkmaar in the Polman Stadion. He was a regular starter for Almelo during the two years he spent there.
The Heracles club struggled to cope with relegation from the Eredivisie in its first season; however, her second season was more successful, with Heracles finishing in the sixth spot and, through play-offs, qualifying for the Europa League qualifying round – for the first time in Heracles Almelo’s history that they had qualified for an international competition.

In addition to that, he was appointed Ron Vlaar’s vice-captain for the season. Weghorst started off the 2017-2018 season in good form, and he scored 7 goals from his first 13 starts.
The striker continued to show that form and scored 20 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions and earned his first full international call-up in Ronald Koeman’s first Dutch squad in March of 2018.
With 18 goals scored, he finished the season as joint-third top scorer in the Eredivisie with Steven Berghuis, both behind top scorer Alireza Jahanbakhsh (with 21) and runner up Bjørn Johnsen (with 19). In addition to his goal, Weghorst also had six assists.

As a result of his seventeen goals in his first season in Germany, he finished joint third in the Bundesliga scoring charts for the 2018-2019 campaign.
In the 2019–20 season, Weghorst continued to produce impressive goal returns, scoring 16 times in the league as Wolfsburg finished 6th.
In the qualifying rounds of the 2020-21 Europa League, Wolfsburg scored twice, but ultimately the team failed to qualify for the group stage, losing to the Greek side AEK Athens in the playoff round.

The striker Weghorst usually plays in the position of a center forward, although he can also play as a winger.
He is currently playing for the Bundesliga club VFL Wolfsburg.
Previously, he was a player for the Dutch Eredivisie football club Alkmaar Zaanstreek, also known as AZ.
In addition, he has played for the Dutch national football team.
In order to start his football career, Weghorst joined the youth ranks and the academy of RKSV Neo, a local club.
After he gained some experience at the club, he moved to DETO Twenterand which competes in the local Eerste Klasse league.
In addition to playing a bit of competitive football with his new club, he also learned a lot about the sport.
Later on, he signed a contract with the Eredivisie team Willem II.
While serving in the youth ranks of three clubs, he was able to gain experience and his game flourished, but he was unable to get promoted to the senior team, therefore he moved to the football club Emmen in the Eerste Divisie.
After joining FC Emmen, Weghorst made his first appearance for the senior team in a 1-1 draw against Dordrecht on 10 August 2012.
It was on 19 September 2017 that Weghorst gained the captaincy of AZ for the first time in a match between TOTO KNVB Beker and MVV Maastricht.
I have to say that he was involved in all three goals that his team managed to score, scoring on two occasions and providing one assist.
At the end of the day, they won the match by a score of 3-2. In five games of the tournament, Weghorst captained the club and scored nine goals.

He notched 70 in 144 games. His last full season saw him score 25 in 41 games, and 20 in just 34 Bundesliga matches. He is usually good for a goal every other game and was by now a full Dutch international having been picked by Ronald Koeman in 2018 and scoring in a friendly against England.
What team does Weghorst play for?
Netherlands national football team
‘Wout Weghorst’s Biography’ is the tale of a boy from a wealthy family who overcame all odds in order to chase a dream he holds extremely dear. Similar to Jamie Vardy, he rose from the depths of Dutch football to reach the top of the game. In the end, he chose to follow his heart and did not give in to the idea that he should quit.
Having said that, it is pertinent to note that Wout Weghorst’s parents are multi-millionaires. The Weghorst family holds the proud ownership of AVIA Weghorst. AVIA Weghorst is a well-known oil and gas firm in the Netherlands. Wout has never considered the wealth of his parents. All he wanted was a life that was different from the lives of others.
Wout Weghorst’s parents expressed their concern for him as a child. When Astrid and Frans found out that he was chasing what they call an impossible dream, they got worried. As a result, they encouraged him to choose a more respectable career path. This was similar to what his brothers had chosen to become in life.
His older brother, Tan, vowed to become a pilot when he was a child. He was approached by Niek Weghorst, his immediate senior, who agreed to become an architect. Niek (the last born in the family) pledged that he would take care of their family’s business. In the end, Wout decided to follow football and also gain an education.
The Dutch footballer started his career with NEO. Following this, he joined DETO – as a player of average ability. He was urged repeatedly to give up football by a large number of well-meaning people. People told him he wasn’t good enough for the sport. He proved to be stubborn and didn’t listen to them as they advised him.
The mother of Weghorst (Astrid) stood by her son during an early crisis in his career. It was through a friend of hers that she got him an opportunity to meet Willem II. Wout’s teenage years were affected by a growth spurt, which he eventually overcame. Secondly, he was criticized by his fans, which he also overcame.
In the end, the Dutch football player was able to achieve a meteoric rise to the top of the game – similar to that of Armando Broja in England. It is through reading Weghorst’s biography that we learn that drive is more important than talent. Erik ten Hag is another example of that.

Impact of online learning on mental health
Impact of online learning on mental health
Online learning is a constantly growing trend, and in pandemic times almost every student accesses it. But do all of them loved it? We suspected not everyone were excited by learning at home and do their english homework or other assignments on their own. So we found research that studied that question.
According to research by YouthTruth, the majority of students prefer online learning in the fall compared to the spring. For instance, 61% of the students gave positive feedback about learning in the fall, while the remaining 39% said they would rather have online learning in the spring. Before the covid-19 pandemic hit the globe, the approval rate for online learning was at 59%, which means a 5 point increase in the students desiring to have online learning during the fall. On the other hand, the student attending physical classes had 64% attesting that they benefited. 59% of students from hybrid programs and 61% of students from virtual classes also expressed the same sentiments as the majority from the physical classes.
Everybody desires to feel like they are part of a community. In a school setting, the student wants to fit in and feel like they belong. However, in the spring, less than 30% felt that they belonged to the school community in spring, while in the fall, the number increased to 49% of the students feeling like they belonged with the school community. However, it was 43% before the covid-19 pandemic. The survey had around 64,000 respondents (Students) in the fall and 21,000 respondents in the spring. The pre-covid survey had over 447,000 respondents in 2019.
The most significant benefit of online learning is that you can learn at your convenience with the freedom to take a regular break. It was a sentiment from over 48% of the students. 41% said that they found online classes interesting, while 35% responded that they could only concentrate for up to 4 hours continuously.
However, online learning has its limitations. For instance, 46% of the students cited anxiety, stress, and depression as some of the major obstacles they faced. Another significant obstacle cited by 44% of the students was family responsibilities and distractions at home. On average, 57% of the female students were affected by stress and depression, while 33% had the same issue.
For the seniors, most of them had post-secondary aspirations with almost a similar share (52% and 51%)of students both in pre-covid and during the covid period intended to go to college for four years during the fall. On the other hand, those wanting to go to college for two years in 2019 compared to 2020 were 16% to 22%, respectively. And then, we have those that were unsure of what they wanted to do in the future, and they accounted for 13% and 8%, respectively.
The students must be at the center of attention when discussing public schools. Research like this should highlight the students’ experiences and their opinions on what works for the best. Schools should open up avenues for students to express their opinions and support the students in both their emotional well-being and academic success. The students’ voice is significant to any school’s progress and will inform how to achieve success for both the school and the students.
Uday Kotak Biography, House, Family, Son, Career & Net Worth
Table of Contents
Indian billionaire banker Uday Kotak, who was born on March 15, 1959, serves as the managing director and executive vice chairman of Kotak Mahindra Bank. When India’s economy was still closed and experiencing slow growth in the early 1980s, Kotak chose to go it alone rather than accept a lucrative offer from a multinational.
He expanded his company into different financial services over the course of the following few years, becoming well-known in bill discounting, stockbroking, investment banking, auto financing, life insurance, and mutual funds. The Reserve Bank of India granted Kotak Mahindra Finance Ltd. a banking licence on March 22, 2003, making it the first corporation in India’s corporate history to do so.
With 60 individuals living under one roof in a Gujarati upper-middle class joint family, Kotak was reared there. Initially, the family engaged in combination trade. “Capitalism at work and Socialism at home,” he dubbed it. Cricket and playing the sitar had been his two hobbies. He acknowledged in a 2014 interview with NDTV that he had given up on sitar playing.
Uday Kotak Education
His job decision was influenced by his aptitude in mathematics. Sydenham College awarded him a bachelor’s degree, while Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies awarded him a master’s degree in management studies in 1982. Also led the cricket team at his school as captain, and he participated in the Kagna League while at college. Kotak loves cricket a lot.
Uday Kotak Professional Life
Kotak founded Kotak Capital Management Finance Ltd. after earning his MBA (which later became Kotak Mahindra Finance Ltd). He transformed a bill-discounting start-up into a financial services conglomerate with assets of US$19 billion (as of March 2014), the second largest scheduled commercial bank by market capitalization in India (private and PSU), and more than 1250 branches from a seed capital of less than US$80,000 borrowed from family and friends.
Following a $2.4 billion deal he completed in November 2014 to acquire rival ING Vysya Bank, which was partially owned by Dutch financial services giant ING, Kotak almost doubled his wealth during the year as shares of his Kotak Mahindra Bank reached an all-time high.
Uday seized the chance presented by Nelco’s need for working capital as a Tata subsidiary. By persuading his relatives and friends to contribute money to Nelco at an interest rate of 12 per cent, he established a small trade-finance company. He also gave Nelco short-term trade credit at a rate lower than the bank’s lending rate.
Following the success of this endeavour, Kotak expanded into bill discounting using the same guidelines. Then, in 1986, Uday started his business Kotak Mahindra with a Rs 30 lakhs initial investment and acquired a 50% ownership stake. Anand Mahindra put a significant amount of money into Uday’s company; as a result, Uday gave his financial company the name Kotak Mahindra. In 2015, Kotak entered the general insurance industry and teamed up with Bharti Airtel, owned by telecom billionaire Sunil Mittal, to launch a small payments bank.
The Kotak Mahindra Group has expanded over the years into a number of industries, including stock broking, investment banking, auto financing, life insurance, mutual funds, etc. In order to comply with RBI instructions, Kotak must lower its ownership of Kotak Mahindra Bank to 20% from its current 30%.
With a monthly compensation of 27 lakh (US$35,000), he was reportedly one of the highest-paid CEOs of any Indian bank in August 2019. For the 2020–21 fiscal year, he became the leader of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
Kotak Mahindra Finance Ltd. began its bill discounting business in 1986. The year 1987 saw Uday’s business enter the lease and hire buy sector. He began his career in the auto finance branch in 1990. He assumed control of FICOM, one of India’s biggest retail marketing networks, in 1991.
Made a debut in the fund syndication sector in 1992. He established a separate firm called Securities in 1995 and consolidated his brokerage and distribution companies under it. Additionally, Kotak Mahindra Capital Company created the Investment Banking branch. His auto finance operation was divided into a different company, Kotak Mahindra Prime Limited, in 1996. He invested a substantial sum in Ford Credit Kotak.
He founded Matrix Information Services Limited, which began the Group’s debut in the information distribution industry, and Mahindra Limited to finance Ford automobiles. He entered the mutual fund industry in 1998 when Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Company was established. He partnered with Kotak Mahindra and Old Mutual plc in 2000 to conduct a life insurance business.
Kotak Securities opened its online travel agency. Private equity activity has begun. To launch a private equity venture, the Kotak Mahindra Venture Capital Fund was established. He sold Matrix to Friday Corporation in 2001 and started Insurance Services. Finance Ltd. incorporated Kotak Securities Ltd. He converted Kotak Mahindra Finance Ltd. into a commercial bank in 2003, making it the first company in India to do so.
He established the India Growth Vehicle, a private equity fund, in 2004.
In 2005, he reorganised the Kotak Group’s joint venture with Ford Credit and bought out their own part in Kotak Mahindra Prime. In addition, the Ford Credit Kotak Mahindra Kotak Group’s interest was sold. Additionally, he started a real estate fund.
In 2006, he acquired the 25% investment in Kotak Mahindra Capital Company and Kotak Securities that Goldman Sachs had previously owned. He started a pension fund in 2008 as part of the new pension system. A representative office for Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. was established in Dubai in 2009. As an anchor investor, he entered the Ahmedabad Commodity Exchange.
