Dominik Livaković joined NK Zagreb’s first team at the start of the 2012-13 season. Initially the club’s backup goalkeeper, he made his league debut on August 31, 2012, playing the entire match in a 1-0 loss at home to HNK Cibalia. He quickly became the club’s number one and appeared in 104 league games over four seasons, including 90 in the Prva HNL.
On August 30, 2015, he agreed to join Dinamo Zagreb for the 2016-17 season. On 2 October 2016, he made his league debut for the club in a goalless draw at home against Hajduk Split.

Three days later, in a 3-1 league victory over Gorica, he conceded his first goal of the season, setting a new record of 535.
On 26 August 2020, in a Champions League qualifier against CFR Cluj, Livaković saved Ciprian Deac’s penalty kick.
