Rajeev Khandelwal completed his schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jaipur. Later he joined St. Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad to attain a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. He performed at a stage show when he was in 3rd standard.

From here, Rajeev developed an interest in acting. When Rajeev was in 9th standard, he gave an audition for Punjab Doordarshan and got chosen. Unluckily, Rajeev could not feature in the show as it was a 3-month outdoor shoot and his father did not allow for it. Before making his TV debut, Khandelwal modeled for a few brands including Green Label Whiskey, LML, and Videocon. In 1998, Rajeev made his TV debut with the DD National’s serial Banphool.
