Reactions on her Mother’s Death Report
TV actress Jaya Bhattacharya who very recently lost her aged mother is not having a very good time with the media. After a recent story which made a mockery of her financial situation, another media outlet carried a story yesterday (25 February) about her mother passing away, but headlined it as she is no more.
Says Jaya in reaction to the report, “Most people don’t bother to read the story and just go by the headline. This is highly irresponsible. Mom had passed away two days (23 February) before the untimely passing away of Sridevi and here you are trying to mix up 2 tragedies just to gain traction.” “I wonder why the media is after me. What have I done? My life has been turned into a joke in the past two or three months.
Yesterday I was flooded with phone calls of anxious people who wanted to know what and why. Things reached such a pass that when people would Whatsapp ‘hi’, I would say ‘yes I am alive.’ This was actually happening when I was busy with some ceremonial dinner. All this added to the injury. I just request media folks to please use the power of the pen responsibly,” Jaya sends out a request.

Life Journey
First off, his full name is Frederico Rodrigues de Paula Santos. Fred is just his nickname. Fred was born on the 5th day of March 1993 to Roseli Miranda de Paula and Delson Rodrigues dos Santos in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
In addition to his humble background, Fred has football connections. Due to his private lifestyle, little is known about his family, brothers, and sister. A rumor has it that The Fred Family is related to the family of Brazilian and Barcelona legend, Ronaldinho.
Having a football at one’s feet ends emptiness for Fred, who grew up in a football community. His dreams to become a professional footballer came true because of a steely determination that was ingrained in him as a child.
First of all, it is important to let you know that Fred was assisted into football by Ronaldinho’s brother, Roberto de Assis. Fred began playing football at Atletico Mineiro in 2003 when he was 10 years old. Moreover, Roberto de Assis, a former convict (who had spent some time in prison), is Ronaldinho’s mentor and elder brother.
With his youth career nearing its end, Fred with the help of Roberto de Assis got himself transferred to other clubs in order to gain more experience and prepare for the European season.

Therefore, the average man would need to work for at least 17 years to earn what Freddie earns in just one month.
At the moment, he is earning a lot of money at United. Furthermore, Shakhtar Donetsk paid huge salaries during their successful years. Currently, his net worth is roughly 20 Million Euros (17.4 Million Pounds). We recently established his market value, and it seems to be accurate. The current market value of his company is estimated at around 60 million euros (54 million pounds).
Fred(Footballer 1993)’s Wife – Monique Salum
Fred, the midfielder for Manchester United, has been married to Monique Salum for two years. The couple met when Fred played for Shakhtar Donetsk and made their relationship public in 2016. Fred proposed to Monique in a very romantic way two years later, in 2018, having already decided he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.
Fred and Monique tied the knot in the summer of 2018 without throwing a big wedding ceremony. In 2019, they chose to celebrate their love with their friends and families, so they organized a big wedding that was attended by everyone who was close to them.
The wedding coincided with Manchester United preseason matches, so Fred had to fly back to Australia to train with the team after the wedding. Let’s take a closer look at Monique Salum’s biography now that we know how Fred met his wife. Monique Salum was born on March 31, 1994, which makes her 28 years old. Monique’s zodiac sign is Aries, according to her birthday.
Monique was born in Brazil, as was her husband, so her nationality is Brazilian. Monique Salum practices Christianity and was baptized by Liverpool’s goalkeeper Alisson Becker since she is very close friends with Natalia Loewe, Alisson’s wife. Many people are curious about Monique Salum’s height since she is taller than Fred, who is 5ft 7in (1.70m). She appears to be around 5ft 9ins (1.75m) tall.
She is also very smart, having graduated from the University Center of Belo Horizonte and now working as a chemical engineer. Her current job is at the Centre for the Development of Nuclear Technology.
Besides her Instagram account, Monique Salum has nearly 95K followers, which makes her quite famous. Her family vacations are often displayed in her social media posts, and she seems to enjoy traveling. Fred and Salum have traveled all over the world together, visiting places like Santorini, Maldives, Miami, Paris, and of course Dubai.
Due to Fred’s job, the couple lives in Manchester, England, but Monique frequently visits her parents in her homeland. Fred and Monique already have one child, but we expect that there will be more to come. Fred Salum’s first son, Benjamin Rodrigues, was born to Monique Salum on January 17, 2019.
Originally from Belo Horizonte, Fred spent six years of his childhood with the local club Atlético Mineiro before joining Porto Alegre in 2009.
He joined Internacional a year later. Initially representing the club at various youth levels, he helped them win six titles in 2010 including the Copa Santiago and Copa FGF.
He debuted as a professional on 26 January 2012, when he played against Cerâmica in the Ga*cho Championship.
His first professional goal came on 18 July 2012, against his former club Atlético Mineiro. As a whole, he scored eight goals in 55 appearances for Internacional, winning the Gaucho Championship twice.
Shakhtar Donetsk
Fred signed a deal worth €15 million with Shakhtar Donetsk on 26 June 2013. On his competitive debut in the Ukrainian Super Cup, he scored two goals to help Shakhtar defeat Chornomorets Odesa 3–1.
Fred was among the six Shakhtar players who refused to return to Donetsk after a preseason friendly against Olympique Lyonnais in July 2014. After the club relocated training sessions to Kyiv, he returned to Ukraine a few days later.
Fred scored a free-kick in a 2–1 round of 16 first-leg victories against AS Roma on the 21st of February 2018, his first goal in the UEFA Champions League.
Fred won 10 trophies with Shakhtar, including three Ukrainian Premier League titles.
Golden Time Of Brazil Player Fred(Footballer 1993) With Manchester United
Manchester United reached an agreement to sign Fred for a reported fee of £47 million on 5 June 2018. With the option to extend for an additional year, he signed a five-year contract.
In their first league match of the season, he made his club debut against Leicester City in a 2–1 victory.
In a 1–1 draw at home against Wolverhampton Wanderers on 22 September 2018, Fred scored his first goal for United.
Fred was allegedly racially abused by Manchester City fans during the Manchester derby on 7 December 2019.
Fred scored two goals and assisted another during United’s round of 32 matches against Club Brugge, which they won 5–0 and 6–1 on aggregate.
Fred played the full 90 minutes of Manchester United’s Premier League record-equaling 9–0 win at home against Southampton on 2 February 2021.
As of 11 April 2021, Fred scored the equalizing goal at the 57th minute in Manchester United’s Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur, which the Red Devils won 3–1 after Spurs’ Heung-min scored at the 40th minute.
With an assist from Paul Pogba, Fred scored Manchester United’s fifth goal in a 5–1 win over Leeds United on the opening day of the 2021–22 Premier League. He then scored his own goal in a 1-1 draw against Southampton by deflecting a shot from Ché Adams.
He scored the winning goal for Manchester United in their 1-0 win against Crystal Palace on 5 December 2021. In Ralf Rangnick’s first game as Manchester United manager, Fred scored this goal outside the box with his weaker right foot.
International Career
At the 2013 South American Youth Football Championship, Fred played three times for the Brazil under-20 squad.
In a 4–0 win over Turkey on 12 November 2014, he made his debut for the Brazil national team as a substitute. As a result of an injury to Luiz Gustavo, Fred was named to Brazil’s squad for the 2015 Copa América in Chile, starting in their first two matches in Group C as they reached the quarterfinals.
At the 2016 Olympic Games, he was initially selected for the Brazil under-23 squad. Shakhtar Donetsk did not release him to play in the tournament, and Wallace replaced him in the squad.
He was named to Tite’s final 23-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia but did not play.
In June 2021, he was included in Brazil’s squad for the 2021 Copa América.
Fred(Footballer 1993)’s Controversial Doping Case
Fred tested positive during the 2015 Copa América for the diuretic hydrochlorothiazide, which is banned. In July 2015, he released a statement claiming innocence while awaiting the results of a second sample. UEFA cleared Shakhtar Donetsk to select him at the start of the 2015–16 season after Fenerbahce complained about his performance in a Champions League third qualifying round match.
CONMEBOL suspended him for one year on 15 December 2015, preventing him from participating in any CONMEBOL-sanctioned games but allowing him to play for Shakhtar. The FIFA ban was extended to cover all football worldwide on 5 February 2016, backdated to 27 June 2015.
WADA appealed the ban to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in March 2016, believing it was potentially lenient. Fred returned from suspension in March 2017, and a deal was reached with WADA before the CAS hearing that prevented him from playing until July.
Facts About Fred(Footballer 1993)
Although he has been considered one of the most exciting defensive midfielders and box-to-box midfielders, he broke into the scene for Internacional as an attacking midfielder.
During the Ukrainian crisis in 2014, he was one of six Shakhtar Donetsk players who refused to play at their homes for fear of their personal safety.
It was revealed in June 2018 that he had been bought by Manchester United from Shakhtar Donetsk. The company offered him a five-year contract with an option to extend it for another year.
As a member of Internacional, he won back-to-back state championships as well as the Recopa Sudamericana.
During his time with Shakhtar Donetsk, he won 3 Ukrainian Premier League titles, 3 Ukrainian Cups, and 4 Ukrainian Super Cups.
The doping agency found his test sample positive for the diuretic hydrochlorothiazide during the 2015 Copa América.
A year after CONMEBOL suspended him, he was reinstated. FIFA implemented the ban in February 2016 and dated it back to June 2015.
He played for Shakhtar Donetsk in the first half of the 2016-17 season but was banned again in March 2017 after the World Anti-Doping Agency imposed a two-year ban on him, which was retroactive to June 2015.
He was cleared by all organizations to resume his playing career in July 2017.

Life Journey
This biography gives you a little insight into Denzel Dumfries’s childhood, early life, parents (Boris and Marleen), siblings (Oemelza, Danielle, and Donovan), and family. Jaimy Kenswiel, Uncles, Cousins (Jahfarr Wilnis and Jason Wilnis), Lifestyle, Personal Life, etc.
A dogged right-back becomes an indomitable lion, who has grown to become a force to be reckoned with – in the world of European football. From his boyhood days to becoming a global superstar, his Football story unfolds.
We’ve decided to portray Denzel Dumfries’ Early Life and Rise gallery to whet your appetite for his biography. Check out his Life Journey below.
Everyone knows he was among the standout performers at Euro 2020’s group stages alongside superstars like Memphis Deny, Donyell Malen, and Georainio Wiinaldum. Top European clubs admired him for this reason and rushed to sign him.
We noticed – despite the accolades – that few have read the complete version of Denzel Dumfries’ biography. We have accepted this call to tell his story. Now without further ado, let’s begin.
He goes by the nickname Denz, and his full name is Denzel Justus Morris Dumfries. He was born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, on the 18th day of April 1996 to his mother, Marleen Dumfries, and his father, Boris Dumfries.
Denzel was born to the Dumfries family as the first son and second child. Among the four children born to his parents are Oemelza, Danielle, and Donovan.
Their childhood days were the most important part of Denzel’s life since they helped shape his views and future. Rhoon, a village in Rotterdam, is where he spent most of his time.
Denzel has fond memories of growing up with his sister (Demelza), younger sister (Danielle), and little brother (Donovan) – who is the last born in the family.
As parents, nothing is more incredible than preserving your children’s portraits. Unveiling it to the world after they have made it. Several years ago, Denzel Dumfries’ parents took time to take family pictures.
Denzel’s strange behavior as a boy set him apart from his siblings. Despite his bad reputation, everyone loved him (including his family and neighbors). The truth is, Densel just has a hard time sitting in one position for an hour.
According to his sister, Demelza, the Dutch teenager was always coming up with something new. Pietje Bell, derived from a cartoon series about a family adventure, was Denzel’s childhood nickname due to his restlessness.
There is a series of children’s novels called Pietje Bell about a little boy (similar to Denzel Dumfries) who always gets himself into trouble. Denzel Dumfries’ sister Demelza gave him the nickname after he deflated the tires of her bicycle.
When he used to race home from school every evening, he always had the ball at his feet – his father Boris said. Making Denzel stay home was like punishing him. He was always on the move and always willing to go outside.
In the middle of the winter, his father carried him outside so that he could cool off. He shut the doors for hours, but nothing happened. In fact, the experiment failed. Denzel Dumfries’ parents agreed to take him to a nearby hospital because of his strange behavior.
Denzel’s mother, Marleen Dumfries, was the one who initiated the idea since she was more concerned that her son might have a strange ailment.
Marleen’s doctor listened to her story about her son’s behavior for nearly ten minutes at the hospital. Denzel’s mother believed that her son suffered from Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) based on her own research.
Denz and his mom left the doctor’s office after an hour and went to the waiting room to see the results of a test. Both mother and son looked at each other in the mirror after reading the paper.
A short silence followed between mother and son. Both of them burst out laughing after looking at each other for about seven seconds.
Demelza later tore the test result, which reads;
Denzel is just Denzel. He is DENZEL by nature.
Marleen and the rest of the household accepted him just the way he is with the hope that he would change as he grew older.
Boris and Marleen Boris are busy parents. He once held the position of manager (now supervisory board) of a Dutch health care institution. Denzel Dumfries’ mum also has a similar line of work – like her husband.
Denzel Dumfries’ parents were both middle-class families. Also, they once were the type of people who made excellent use of their time – while at home with the kids. During that time, it was difficult for many of them to stay at home due to the demands of their jobs.
Additionally, Boris and Marleen did not raise Denzel and his siblings in the typical Dutch way. The children were brought up to accept their cultures and learn more about their ethnicity and heritage.
Upon hearing his surname and seeing his completeness, you may begin to wonder and ask questions about the country of his forefathers. Don’t be deceived that Denzel Dumfries’s grandparents are from Scotland just because his surname is named after a city in the country.
As a matter of fact, the Dutch footballer has ties to three countries. Denzel Dumfries’ father is from Aruba. This country is located in the middle of the Caribbean Sea, according to research.
Denzel Dumfries’ mom, Marleen, is from Paramaribo, the capital city of Suriname. South America’s northeastern coast is home to this small country. According to our research, both of his parents’ home nations speak Dutch as their native language.
His mother’s side of the family is Denzel Dumfries, so he is related to the likes of Ki-Jana However, Edgar Davies, Virgil van Dijk, Clearance Seedort, Steven Bergwijn, and Patrick Kluivert.
Denzel Dumfries Family decided to move from the Netherlands to Aruba in 2006. The first one to leave was his father, Boris – to prepare for their arrival.
Denzel Dumfries’ family decided to return home to Rhoon, the Netherlands after a year. His parents’ decision to return to his birth country made him very happy. He had one reason to be happy – FOOTBALL.
Even at school, the Dutch footballer was unmanageable. Denzel disrupted classes and gallivanted with friends at his schoolyard among other things. Almost every week, Denzel Dumfries’ mother would have to go to his school to confirm that he is still alive. Occasionally, Marleen visits because Oenz has been expelled from class.
Despite his dedication to football, the youngster was unable to improve his skills. Moreover, Denzel wasn’t good enough in his early footballing days (similar to Wout Weghorst). He struggled to get into top football academy.
He was in school when his teacher asked everyone to describe their vision for the future. Denzel was the only child who expressed an interest in becoming a professional footballer. The whole class laughed when he said that.
One of the boys who laughed at him was Sean Verburg. Sean (now all grown up) exposed Denzel for playing soccer with him, stating;
I’ve seen you repeatedly on the pitch. You have no technical skills for football.
Sean Verburg and the rest of his classmates pierced his heart with their words. Denzel made a vow within himself that he would prove them wrong.
In the game, he began to lose all his energy like a wounded lion. Denz found peace with more football and higher energy. In order to become successful, Denzel decided he would build on his mentality, which he believed would complement his poor playing skills.
After successfully applying to Spartan ’20, an amateur football club near Rotterdam, the Rotterdam native started his academy soccer career.
Then he moved on to Smitshoek’s youth, which is 21 minutes or 11.6 kilometers from Rotterdam. Initially, Denzel received assistance from his parents to get to the academy. When he grew older, he used his bicycle to get there.
There were other footballers of excellent quality at W Smitshoek. Denzel had the least skills among all of them. He was seen as the type of player who wouldn’t go far – even to the national team.
He was shaped by Rick Thaper. Denzel’s coach noted that Denzel has the right attitude to succeed. However, his skills weren’t that impressive. Denzel’s development as a player and as a person was aided by him.
Finally, Denzel Dumfries became calm and focused after being a busy boy.
Demelza’s sister’s words;
Denz was in search of his identity and what he really likes. During his time at VV SMITSHOEK, he decided he would go full into football. My brother found peace within himself at that time.
Denzel cycled to his club in torrential rain, gusty winds, or freezing temperatures. He first went to Smitshoek and later to BVV Barendrecht, a bigger academy he joined in 2013.
Denzel Dumfries’ parents said this about his mentality. His dad Boris;
We were on holiday in Italy, and he made sure everyone returned on time – all because he wanted to go play football at Barendrecht.
Denzel Dumfries Mum, then Marleen;
Denzel never bothered about it. He wanted to go back to training. I told him there would be more barendrecht boys enjoying the holiday.
Two hours after Denzel Dumfries’ family arrived home, the restless Denz got out of bed and went straight to his bicycle. Even before dawn, Denz was pedaling to his club. Even with SW Barendrecht, nobody thought Dumfries would grow into an international club.
His mentality gradually changed everyone’s mind. It was evident when Denzel broke his toe while playing. With a big smile on his face, he did that.
Van Drunen – on Dumfries Lifestyle;
We ate chips and fries with the players and Denzel ate something healthy. Later, when they went out for parties, he would stay. He has such a drive that is unimaginable.
Feyenoord is from Rotterdam (where his family resides), so Denzel Dumfries should be in their squad. But he wasn’t.
The majority of football talent (from Rotterdam) that is not picked up by Feyenoord is usually scouted by Sparta Rotterdam. After graduating from the academy, he was signed by Feyenoord in 2014. Denzel Dumfries (now a man) celebrates signing his first professional contract with Sparta Rotterdam.
His new home marked a bright start for the future Dutch international. Denzel was Sparta Rotterdam’s brightest light in the Eerste Divisie. The award is meant for the best team in the second tier of Dutch football.
The Golden Bull award went to Dumfries for being the best player in the Dutch second league. Dries Mertens won the first such award in 2009 when he played for AGOVV Apeldoorn. In 2013, Quincy Promes won it as well.
Following his win, the rising star made the biggest decision of his life. After accepting a transfer request to a top division club located far from home, he left his parents’ house for the first time.
Denzel Dumfries traveled 2 hours (189.9 km) from Rotterdam to Heerenveen in the Netherlands (for the first time).
While there, our boy got an impressive start and a fast turnaround in his career. In fact, Dumfries was given national recognition for his leaping ability similar to that of Cristiano Ronaldo. He won the league player of the year award because he scored big goals as well as exhibited other defensive qualities.
It took Dumfries just two seasons to develop from a decent amateur player into one of the most talented players on the Dutch national team. Ronald Koeman called him up to the Oranje for the first time around the end of October 2018, much to the joy of his family.
His performance and qualities were noticed by PSV in the same year. Towards the end of June 2018, Dumfries signed a five-year contract with PSV Eindhoven. The club’s performance and quality skyrocketed during a short space of time, and he rose even to become the club’s captain.
Dumfries became the first choice for a right-back in the competition, due to the fact that he is a key player on the national team. A lot of attacks started and ended with Dumfries in this competition.
Among the most prominent players in the EURO 2020 competition were the Dutch superstar and notable performers from other countries, such as Manuel Locatelli and Patrik Schick, who were named man of the match by football scouts in recognition of their performances.
We are without a doubt on the verge of seeing another right back develop into rubbing shoulders with big names like Achraf Hakimi, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Man city’s Kyle Walker.
Among Dutch’s right-back stars, Dumfries is undoubtedly the best. He is just another product of Oranje Holland’s endless production line of footballers. As they say always, the rest of his biography is history.
The Dutch footballer does not seem to be married at the time of creating his life story. However, he is dating a beautiful woman. Denzel Dumfries’ girlfriend and future wife is Jaimy Kenswiel. Her beauty and endowments make her a delightful Dutch citizen from Rotterdam.
In terms of what she does for a living, Jaimy is a stylist and party planner. We’re not surprised by her gorgeous hairstyle. According to research, she is the founder and CEO of the website Four Thousand 4000, which sells both women’s and men’s clothing.
‘aim. and Denzel have known each other since 2015. They have been together since he began his professional career with Sparta Rotterdam. The couple’s love has only grown since then.
Jaimy Kenswiel has already been accepted by the Denzel Dumfries family and has a close relationship with them. Despite not yet being married, both lovers decided to have a child, who entered into their lives in 2020. Denzel and his wife occasionally share pictures of themselves together looking at ease and enjoying their lives by the sea.
In our Bio, we reveal more facts that you might not know about the Arubian Dutch. In the beginning, we found out that even now, Denz still has some of the old him inside of him. His mother (Marleen) describes him in one word: BUSY.
However, Denzel’s primary concern is his family, and he is very protective of them. The Arubian Dutch have always wanted to be the man of the house, says his father (Boris).
When Denzel was a child, he would tell his siblings when both of his parents were away;
Hey guys, Dad and Mom are away, so now I’m the eldest and the boss of the house.
Despite the fact that Demelza (his sister) is older than him, Dutch footballers would say this. At that time, the four children would receive instructions from their parents – that no one should open the door when the doorbell rang.
Denzel is the type who strictly adheres to rules. However, he would get so angry if one of his siblings opened the door. He would even get angry when one of his sister’s friends visited.
To put it simply, the Dutch footballer is very fond of rules. It is his belief that he must take responsibility for everyone. According to his parents, when Oenzel’s older sister’s daughter (Neal) was born, he suddenly became very worried.
His words;
I am now an uncle. It’s my responsibility to take care of NEAL for the day, nurse, and feed her.
Denzel is an anti-flash man who ignores the luxury lifestyle, judging from his personality. Although he is yet to be a fan of supercars like Neymar, he does not have a great sense of fashion.
This versatile defender seems to be the kind that sticks with Mercedes Benz because the car is designed to provide his kind of comfort.
Following his Euro 2020 goal that resulted in a euphoric victory for the Dutch national team, the footballer’s household has experienced a surge in popularity.
We will tell you more about his family members and relatives in this section. Let’s begin with Boris.
Boris is an example-driven leader. The hardworking dad has worked night and day to support his family, as have many other Dutch working-class citizens.
An Aruban native is now a member of a Dutch social care organization. Boris has been working in the Netherlands social sector for years. Denzel Dumfries’ father in 2008 (while at work) and when he was much younger.
As a father of four, you see the future and know how to motivate your children to prepare for it. Boris and his wife (Marleen) decided to do something extraordinary for Denzel’s 20th birthday.
Instead of buying him some trendy sports shoes, they bought him a sculpture gift to motivate him. Denzel needs to know that there is still a long way to go, and that he has a lot to learn. Simply put, this birthday present was to prevent him from thinking he was already there at the age of 20. This explains why Denzel was only halfway down the stairs to success.
Boris’s words;
If you don’t know how you’re going to get there, a goal without a plan is just a wish.
It has a prominent place in Denzel’s bedroom, as he reflects on it almost every day. Fast-forward to five years later (at the age of 25), when the Euro 2020 is taking place. No doubt, it is evident that his 20th birthday gift has witnessed its manifestation.
She is two years younger than her husband, Boris, and is in her early 50s (as of 2021).
Despite her son’s eccentric childhood behaviors, she remains positive and optimistic.
The relationship between mothers and their first sons is naturally close. Therefore, Marleen says;
Denzel’s confidant and I have a very close friendship. I believe he tells me everything he knows.
Her career in social work and the popularity of her son have made her one of the most celebrated Dutch women of Suriname.
Borris, the footballer’s father, is his elder brother. Denzel Dumfries’ Uncle has supported PSV since 1970, which is quite surprising. John moved to the Netherlands from Aruba in 1966 after being born in Suriname. Denzel’s PSV-crazy uncle was one of the reasons he turned down other clubs in favor of the Red and Whites.
The day his cousin signed for PSV, John Dumfries did what he does best with so much joy.
The first family member to arrive at Philips Stadium to witness the event was John Dumfries. The majority of PSV season ticket holders attended the game before most of the club’s staff and fans. It was indeed a blessed day for the big uncle.
Among the members of his family, the footballer is not the only one who excels in sports. He shares the same fighting spirit as his cousins Jahfarr Wilnis and Jason Wilnis.
Jahfarr is the eldest and most powerful Wilnis. His height is 1.95 meters, or 6 feet 5 inches, and his weight is 119 kilos.
Jason Wilnis, Denzel Dumfries’ other cousin, holds the world’s number 10 middleweight ranking on the 1st of August 2020.
The last born of the family, otherwise known as the baby of the house, is said to be him. Donovan follows in the footsteps of his brother Denzel as a professional footballer. He and his brother are the only two members of his immediate household who enjoy sports.
Denzel is two years older than she is. Moreover, Demelza is the first child and daughter of Boris and Marleen. Denzel’s older sister graduated from Leiden University, South Holland, with a degree in Psychology. Her belief is that nothing is real except for the love of family.
Demelza has been given the name Demelza Croin-Dumfries, in honor of her love. Daiman Croin, her husband, and their daughter, Neal, are happily married. Her parents – Boris and Marleen – have three children – two of whom are daughters. She has a brother, Denzel, who is three years older than her. However, she is the most beautiful of his siblings.
Joseph Dumfries lives far away in the Caribbean island of Aruba, where his father is from. A well-known singer, he has made a name for himself. Joseph Dumfries attended Mon plaisir College and now lives in Oranjestad, Aruba.
As we journey through his life story, we will uncover more truths about Dutch internationals in the concluding section. So without further ado, let’s begin.
In case you didn’t know, Denzel Dumfries once played for Aruba, the country where his dad was born. The Dutch native accepted their invitation since it was not an official international match. These actions show how connected he is to his roots.
Denzel Dumfries is a Christian, according to research. The Rotterdam native is not as outspoken about his faith as others like Carlos Baca, Big Man – Verry Mina, and Keylor Navas.

Conclusion
In the biography of Denzel Dumfries, we are led to believe that nothing in this world can ever take the place of persistence in life. An athlete’s success is not determined by his talent, but rather by his determination, consistency, and work ethic.
During that time when Denzel was a child, he kept a small notebook in which he wrote down how he envisioned his football career developing. It was in that book that he outlined the steps he would take, the mistakes he made, and the things he intends to improve so that he can reach his goals.
Denz wrote in his notebook that one of the goals he had written in there was a master plan he would take to reach the Dutch national team.
Honestly, I believe that Dumfries is a very ambitious individual and that he has backed that up with determination and consistency. I believe this makes his on-field persona, a lethal combination to be reckoned with. Denz, to this day, still writes in that notebook every now and then – about the future.
It is without a doubt, that Dutch Legends such as Dennis R.ergkarnp and Robin van Persie would be very proud to know that the Dutch national team, which they left behind, is in very good hands.
We at WoodGram would like to acknowledge Denzel Dumfries’s parents, siblings, and extended family members for their support and guidance. He has been able to grow and mature due to the patience of his Dad, Boris, and Mum, Marleen with his character (especially in his childhood).

Kasper Peter Schmeichel famously known as Kasper Schmeichel is a Danish professional football goalkeeper who plays for Premier League club Leicester City and the Danish national team. Schmeichel is the son of former Manchester United and Danish international goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel. Prior to making his debut for Manchester City, Schmeichel spent time on loan with Darlington, Bury, and Falkirk. Schmeichel appeared to have made the City number one jersey his own at the start of the 2007–08 season, but Joe Hart’s emergence led to Schmeichel being loaned to Cardiff City.
Schmeichel fell even further down the pecking order at City after signing Republic of Ireland international Shay Given in January 2009, and in August 2009, he joined former manager Sven-Göran Eriksson at Notts County. He spent just one season with the Magpies, despite it being a very successful one for both the club and the player himself, due to changes in the club’s financial position which led to his departure.
Leeds United signed him in May 2010, but again his tenure at the club would only last one season before he was transferred to Leicester City, where he would work again under Eriksson. In addition to winning the Championship in the 2013–14 season, the Premier League in 2015–16, and the FA Cup in 2020–21, Schmeichel has played over 400 competitive matches for Leicester. During his time with the Danish national under-21 team, Schmeichel played 17 games. Having been called up to the Danish national team for the first time against Iceland on 13 May 2011, he was part of their squad at UEFA Euro 2012 but did not make his senior debut until 2013. His country was represented at the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the UEFA Euro 2020.

Life Journey
Woodgram’s Kasper Schmeichel Biography tells you details about his Childhood, Early Life, Parents, Wife (Stine Gyldenbrand), Child, Lifestyle, Net Worth, and Personal Life. In a nutshell, we tell the story of a Leicester-inspired goalkeeping legend known as “The Big Dane”.
We begin with his early days when he became famous. The following is a pictorial summary of Kasper Schmeichel’s life to give you a sense of the engaging nature of his life.
He is the son of former Manchester United and Danish international legend Peter Schmeichel. Only a few people consider Kasper Schmeichel’s biography, which is quite interesting. Without further ado, let’s get started.
In the city of Copenhagen, Denmark, Kasper Peter Schmeichel was born on the 5th day of the 5th month of 1986 to his mother Bente Schmeichel (a housekeeper) and father Peter Peter Schmeichel (the Legendary Goalkeeper).
Through his grandfather (a Danish musician), Kasper has Polish roots, not Danish, as many football fans are used to. He’s related to Tolek Schmeichel, an immigrant to Denmark who went by the name Schmeichel in the 1960s. Kasper’s grandfather (Tolek) was a war child whose father (Kasper’s great-grandfather) was killed as a Polish soldier during World War II.
Kasper Schmeichel’s great-granddad was a soldier, so the Schmeichel family has military roots. Upon leaving Poland, Tolek (Kasper’s Granddad) moved to Denmark with his wife and raised their legendary son Peter Schmeichel. Peter Schmeichel took advantage of this raw mental strength of military family roots and a strong physique to make a name for himself in football, then passed it on to his beloved son Kasper.
He became a father for the first time when his wife Bente gave birth to Kasper at the age of 22. Observe below that Little Kasper lived an affluent life because his dad was famous. He was the kind of kid whose parents could afford the latest toys. Cecilie Schmeichel was Kasper’s younger sister who accompanied him when he was growing up.
On a beautiful summer evening in 1991, Kasper’s dad, Peter Schmeichel, was celebrating his fifth Danish league title with his club (Brondby IF). He decided to have a little party, inviting his guest of which most were club fans.
When the invited guests made their way into the party, a 4-year-old Kasper Schmeichel stood in front of the door and declared, “You all can’t come in here!” “Yes, we’re allowed in, your dad invited us.”
Kasper’s co-fans ushered him back to his mother as one of them replied, allowing his co-fans into the house. Peter Schmeichel continued his successful career with Manchester United a few weeks later.
In some 25 years’ time, Kasper is still standing in the way of visitors, but this time, it is all kinds of football opponents aiming to place the ball behind him. Let me tell you a little about how the journey began.
Peter Kasper’s dad was voted the IFFHS World’s Best Goalkeeper in 1992 & 1993, when he was 7 & 8. Having a father who was not only the best goalkeeper in the world but also spearheaded a series of titles with Manchester United, it was easy for Kasper to follow in his father’s footsteps.
He spent most of his childhood enjoying his father’s career success. Since his father was a professional football player, he began school in England. Hulme Hall Grammar School is located in Greater Manchester, where Kasper attended elementary school.
Even as he read his books, he was devoted to sports. In his off-school days, Kaper played goalkeeping football with his friends, including Alex Bruce, the son of Kasper’s father’s former Manchester United teammate Steve Bruce.
The majority of kid footballers begin their careers by joining a football academy, but Kasper was taught by his father. The Manchester United management allowed Kasper to follow his legendary father to training.
Growing up, he enjoyed watching Manchester United legends train behind the goalposts. In addition to sprinting to fetch wayward shots that missed the goal, Kasper attended every single game at Old Trafford.
After leading Manchester United to the 1999 Treble, Kasper Schmeichel’s dad ended his career on a high note.
After the age of 36, Peter sought out a slower pace of football in Portugal (Sporting CP), a move that resulted in the entire Schmeichel family leaving England for Portugal. While Kasper was living with his parents in Portugal in the year 2000, he enrolled in the Estoril football academy known as Grupo Desportivo Estoril. Following in his dad’s footsteps, Kasper continued to study at the academy.
Throughout the year 1999 to 2001, he received extra lessons from his dad at Sporting CP after training sessions. Kasper Schmeichel learned a lot from his dad during hrs early career days.
The Schmeichel family felt it was time to leave Portugal after staying there for two years. Once again, Kasper decided to leave the club, following his dad back to England where he joined Aston Villa. Kasper joined Man city and after some months, he reunited with his father, this time at the same club. Kasper joined Man city and after some months, he reunited with his father, this time at the same club.
Kasper could not easily fill in his dad’s shoes after he retired from football and City in 2003, as he had not yet graduated with the academy. Instead of waiting, City bought David James, who filled Schmeichel’s vacancy.
Kasper had assumed he would have an easy transition into senior football after graduating from youth football, but things weren’t going as planned. The spot for a senior goalkeeper was filled at the time by Joe Hart, who was on a steady rise and deemed irreplaceable. That left poor Kasper frustrated.
With so much success over the years, it was hard for the Schmeichel family to see their own falling down the pecking order at Eastlands. Kasper Schmeichel went through various snakes and ladders in order to become a first-team goalkeeper.
After going on loan from 2006 to 2009, he started his senior career quickly with Bury, Falkirk, Notts County, and Leeds. Finally, Kasper was rescued. He wasn’t his super father, but Notts County boss, Sven-Goran Eriksson, who helped him land a first-team goalkeeping role with Leicester. On the 27th of June 2011, he confirmed Kasper as his oalkee er lo alist.
Behind the successful goalkeeper in Peter, there was a son in Kasper. And in the heart of Kasper, there came LOVE from a glamorous girl who once rolled her eyes before becoming a girlfriend in the year 2004. Despite being nearly 2 years older than Kasper, Stine Gyldenbrand is a Danish lady born in 1985.
Her stardom began when she began dating Kasper during the last year of his youth career in 2004 when Kasper was only 17 years old. Stine Gyldenbrand had just enrolled at the University of Chester to study for a degree in midwifery when they met.
In 2009, she began working at a hospital near Birmingham, and a year later (2010), they welcomed their first child, a son named Max Schmeichel. The couple welcomed their second child, Isabella Schmeichel, in 2012.
In August 2018, Leicester City signed a contract with the goalkeeper that brought him a salary of 7.8 million euros (6.7 million pounds) per year. After crunching the numbers, this means he earns €21,311 (£18,441) per day and €888 (£768) per hour!

Club Career
Manchester City
Schmeichel joined Manchester City in September 2002 on a long-term contract, which included schoolboy, scholar, and professional terms.
After joining League Two side Darlington on a loan deal in January 2006, he made his professional debut against Peterborough United at the Darlington Arena on 14 January 2006.
Darlington won the game 2–1. Schmeichel conceded a goal to Peterborough striker James Quinn. Three days later, he kept a clean sheet against Grimsby Town. He made two more appearances before returning to Manchester City.
In February, he was loaned out again, this time to Bury, where he made 15 appearances during a three-month loan spell. In the following season, he returned to Bury for three months.
From January 2007 until the end of the 2006–07 season, Schmeichel was on loan at Falkirk of the Scottish Premier League.
On 18 February 2007, he was named man of the match against Rangers. In a 1–0 victory over Celtic on 18 March 2007, he also saved a penalty from Craig Beattie. In May, he revealed he would have liked his loan at Falkirk extended, and the club expressed interest in signing him.
In August 2007, Schmeichel made his debut for Manchester City against West Ham United. Against City’s rivals and boyhood team Manchester United on 19 August 2007, he kept a clean sheet in City’s 1–0 home win.
On 25 August 2007 at the Emirates Stadium, Schmeichel saved a penalty from Arsenal’s Robin van Persie. He was named man of the match despite City losing 1–0 to Arsenal.
In his first seven appearances for Manchester City in the 2007–08 Premier League, he kept clean sheets against Manchester United, West Ham, Aston Villa, and Derby County, conceding only five goals.
In September 2007, he signed a new four-year contract with City. On 25 October 2007, he agreed to a one-month loan with Championship side Cardiff City.
On 27 October 2007, he made his Cardiff debut in a 1-1 draw with Scunthorpe United. In 2007, he was named Danish Under-21 Talent of the Year.
In the latter stages of Schmeichel’s loan spell, he requested that he be allowed to stay on at Cardiff for a longer period. On 22 November, the loan period was extended until the new year, with Sven-Göran Eriksson stating that Schmeichel may stay with Cardiff for the rest of the season if Manchester City does not suffer an injury crisis.
Despite Joe Hart being named Manchester City’s number one goalkeeper by Eriksson, Andreas Isaksson requested a transfer. As a result, Eriksson would not allow Cardiff to keep Schmeichel after his initial loan period ended on 2 January.
By opening talks for Schmeichel to stay at Ninian Park on 31 December, Eriksson gave Cardiff a lifeline. If Isaksson did not move until late in the January transfer window, Schmeichel could remain for two more matches.
Schmeichel had expressed a desire to play for Cardiff again in the future. Despite this, Schmeichel returned to Eastlands the day after his loan expired.
He joined Coventry City on loan until the end of the season on 13 March. Towards the end of the season, his father, Peter Schmeichel, commented during a TV interview that his son was not happy at Manchester City and was set to leave following the end of the season.
Schmeichel returned to the City of Manchester Stadium following the season and changed to the number 16 shirt. The player has repeatedly stated that he regrets signing a four-year contract with City.
Schmeichel came on as a substitute for Joe Hart in the 14th minute of the game on 16 November. As a result, Hull City and the city finished 2–2. At the end of December 2008, Schmeichel played his final match for Manchester City in a UEFA Cup match against Racing de Santander.
Notts County
Schmeichel signed for League Two side Notts County in a deal that broke the club’s previous transfer record on 14 August 2009.
Schmeichel was reunited with former Manchester City manager Sven-Göran Eriksson, who was recently appointed director of football at Notts County.
With an annual salary of $1 million, he was the highest-paid player at the club. After making his debut on 22 August, he kept a clean sheet in the side’s 3–0 win over Dagenham & Redbridge.
Schmeichel almost scored with an overhead kick against Morecambe in September 2009 when he came up from a corner.
Schmeichel won the Player of the Month award for his outstanding performance in October. As a result of Schmeichel’s stay at The Magpies, the club conceded only 0.67 goals per League 2 match (29 goals conceded in 43 league appearances).
At Notts County, Schmeichel’s clean-sheets-to-games ratio was an impressive 55.8 percent (24 out of 43 league appearances).
Schmeichel and Notts County won the 2009–10 League Two title and were promoted to League One with a 5–0 win over already-relegated Darlington on 27 April. Despite having four years left on his contract, Notts County announced they would release Schmeichel after the season.
A reason for this was financial: Schmeichel earned a reported £15,000 per week during the brief ownership period of high-spending Munto Finance in summer 2009. In exchange for forgoing all future wages, Schmeichel made “a huge concession by such a young man,” said Ray Trew.
Leeds United
Having been linked with both Premier League and Bundesliga clubs, Schmeichel signed a two-year contract with Leeds United on 27 May 2010, joining the club on 1 July 2010.
During the 2010-11 season, Schmeichel was given the number one shirt at Leeds and was selected as Leeds’ first-choice goalkeeper for the following season, ahead of Shane Higgs.
In Leeds’ opening Football League Championship game on Saturday 7 August 2010, he made his debut for the club.
Despite Leeds losing 2–1, Schmeichel made several crucial saves throughout the match.
With a string of impressive performances for Leeds, Schmeichel was nominated for the August Championship Player of the Month award but lost out to Queens Park Rangers winger Adel Taarabt. However, Schmeichel did win the Sky Sports Championship Player of the Month award for August.
Schmeichel did, however, win the Sky Sports Championship Player of the Month award for August.
He missed Leeds’ match against Swansea City and was ruled out of the team’s next few games after picking up a tendon injury in his foot. As one of the guests on Soccer AM while out injured, Schmeichel appeared on the program.
Schmeichel returned to the Leeds starting line-up against Cardiff City just over two months after his last appearance. As a result of the birth of his first child the night before, he missed his match against Coventry City on 6 November.
Schmeichel helped Leeds earn a 1-1 draw against Arsenal in the FA Cup Third Round match at the Emirates Stadium on 8 January 2011.
Arsenal captain Cesc Fàbregas commented following the match that Schmeichel should have received the match ball for his performance. In the replay, Leeds lost 3–1, but Schmeichel produced another impressive performance (nearly scoring himself via a header) and was named player of the FA Cup Third Round.
Leicester City announced on 27 June 2011 that they had made an undisclosed bid for him. Schmeichel wanted to stay at Leeds until the end of his contract, so the decision to sell him was a shock to him.
He said, however, that moving to Leeds was the wrong move for him, especially since he felt unwelcome at the club because of his father’s past.
Leicester City
Schmeichel signed a three-year deal with Leicester City on 27 June 2011 for an undisclosed fee, reuniting him for a second time with his former Manchester City and Notts County manager, Sven-Göran Eriksson.
On 20 August 2011, Schmeichel received two yellow cards for “unsporting conduct” and was shown a red card in the 79th minute of Leicester’s away game against Nottingham Forest.
After the spot-kick was successful, he received his second card for throwing the ball away after moving the ball from the penalty spot as Forest’s Lewis McGugan was about to take a kick.
Schmeichel apologized after the match, saying he did not notice he had received the first yellow card because his back was turned to the referee. “I didn’t know I had been booked because I had my back to the ref, otherwise I wouldn’t have done that,” he said on Twitter.
Despite this, Schmeichel’s performances for Leicester quickly began earning him plaudits, with his then manager Sven-Göran Eriksson comparing him with England’s number 1 goalkeeper Joe Hart, and teammate and former England international Paul Konchesky describing him as “one of the best goalkeepers, he has ever played with”.
Schmeichel earned praise for a short-distance reaction save against Portsmouth in November 2011 which was described as “one of the best saves I have seen in a very long time” by Portsmouth manager Michael Appleton. Nigel Pearson described it as a “world-class, outstanding save” at that point of the match.
In all, Schmeichel played 52 games, keeping 17 clean sheets and saving four penalties. On 30 April, he was named the club’s Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year for the 2011–12 season.
In the first half of the 2012–13 season, Schmeichel kept 12 clean sheets in 28 games, which was the most in the league, as Leicester finished second in the table, earning him interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid and leading to his first cap for Denmark.
A particularly impressive save came against Blackburn Rovers in February. On 16 April 2013, he made his 100th Leicester appearance in a 3–2 win over Bolton Wanderers.
Wes Morgan and Schmeichel were both named to the 2012–13 Championship PFA Team of the Year.
Schmeichel’s nine clean sheets during a 19-game unbeaten run helped Leicester win promotion from the Championship with six games to spare during the 2013–14 campaign.
Due to Schmeichel’s high-quality performances, both Manchester United and Milan were linked with moves for the Danish international during the January transfer window.
In March, TV footage appeared to support Schmeichel’s claim that he had scored his first goal when Leicester equalized, in injury time, against Yeovil Town.
However, the match officials ruled that his header had not crossed the line and the goal was officially credited to Chris Wood, who followed up to put the ball in the net.
It was announced at the end of the 2013–14 season that Schmeichel had signed a four-year contract extension until the summer of 2018 with Leicester.
For Leicester’s return to the Premier League, Schmeichel played the full 90 minutes in the 5–3 victory over Manchester United on 21 September 2014.
In December 2014, Schmeichel broke his metatarsal in training, ruling him out for up to six weeks.
During his absence, Leicester signed goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer as a replacement. In March 2015, Schmeichel returned from injury three months later and beat Schwarzer to play in Tottenham Hotspur’s 4–3 loss.
Schmeichel was nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for his clean sheets against Swansea City and Burnley as Leicester won four out of five games in April.
After securing Premier League safety following a goalless draw with Sunderland on 16 May, Schmeichel stated his belief that Nigel Pearson should win Manager of the Season. He said Pearson is the best manager Schmeichel has ever played for. Pearson was, however, sacked after the season ended.
Leicester City finished top of the table on Christmas Day under Claudio Ranieri, Pearson’s replacement. Leicester City finished top of the table on Christmas Day under Claudio Ranieri, Pearson’s replacement.
In their tenth game, the team finally kept a clean sheet for the first time this season. As a result, Schmeichel kept his 12th clean sheet of the season in the reverse fixture against Palace on 19 March.
As of 2 May 2016, he won the Premier League title at 29 years old, the same age as when his father won the first title for Manchester United in 1993.
Both times, the respective teams (Manchester United and Leicester City) won the titles by defeating their nearest rivals (Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur).
The Schmeichels became the only biological father and son to win the Premier League in the same position.

A 2–1 victory for Hull City over the champions saw Schmeichel beaten twice. Schmeichel missed three games in September with a minor groin injury, including a midweek EFL Cup tie against Chelsea. In the first half of a Champions League match at FC Copenhagen on 2 November.
Schmeichel played the full 90 minutes despite being injured, recording his fourth clean sheet in four Champions League games by saving Andreas Cornelius late in the game. Two days later, Schmeichel had surgery and was expected to miss six weeks of action, with Zieler taking his place in goal.

In the early part of the 2007–08 season, it was reported that the Football Association (FA) was looking into Schmeichel’s international status, to see if he could forgo his Danish citizenship and play for England. Schmeichel, however, stated that he would only ever play for Denmark.

Alves was born in Juazeiro, a city in the state of Bahia, to farmer father Domingos Alves da Silva. With the neighborhood kids, he played football. Football was also a passion for Alves’ father, who even organized a football team for himself. Controversy

“We have suffered this in Spain for some time. You have to take it with a dose of humor. We aren’t going to change things easily. If you don’t give it importance, they don’t achieve their objective.”
Neymar responded by posting a photo of himself eating a banana on social media. Many other footballers have since posted photos of themselves eating bananas. Cyrille Regis, who was racially abused on the field during the 1970s and 1980s, expressed concern that the viral campaign would detract from the important issue of combatting racism.
The man who threw the banana at Alves has been arrested in connection with the incident, which occurred on 30 April 2014. Villereal was later fined €12,000 for the incident.

For 21 infractions, Menard and his business were each given a $1.7 million fineMenard allegedly misclassified $20 million as wages instead of dividends in 2013 and wrote it off as a business cost, which led to the IRS ordering him to pay $6 million in back taxes.
In another case, the Wisconsin Supreme Court ordered Menard to pay a former attorney $1.6 million as restitution for gender discrimination and egregious underpayment.Menard was one of the numerous businessmen nominated to President Donald Trump’s economic advisory council in April 2020.

Home Depot, the second-largest retailer in the nation behind Wal-Mart, with headquarters in Atlanta, had its sights set on the Chicago market by the early 1990s. John Menard saw Chicago as the geographic centre of his domain, and he was eager to rule there.Because he didn’t have time to start from scratch, John Menard Jr. transformed a number of vacant retail spaces. Bropst was given a retail assignment in Lombard, Illinois.
The stores Menard acquired had shut down for a variety of reasons. There were many issues in Lombard. Crime. Thugs. a huge personnel issue. We cleaned up a lot of stuff, adds Bropst. With the help of 18 new Chicago locations in three formats, ranging from little Hardware Plus shops to super stores, Menards completed 1993 with $1.7 billion in sales.
The next September, Home Depot opened its first location in Chicago, and “we were ready and waiting,” according to Bropst. In 1998, Home Depot expanded into Milwaukee, another Menards stronghold. However, the actual rivalry remained in Chicago, hastening the demise of smaller regional businesses like Handy Andy, Builder’s Square, and Courtesy Home Centres.
In 1999, Lowe’s joined the market. The businesses that Home Depot and Lowe’s had previously forced out of business were comparable in size to Menards. According to Archibald, the two titans also used their size to exert pressure on DeWalt and Kohler to stop selling goods to Menards.
According to Chicago-based retail analyst Ander, three is a crowd for large box shops, and the third-best is always driven out of business. However, Menards is ranked top or second in the majority of its 11-state region, which includes Wisconsin, Minnesota, the Dakotas, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, and Nebraska.
It competes head-to-head with Home Depot in Chicago (both have about 30 stores), and with 19 stores, it rules Minneapolis-St. Paul. Menards has nine locations in metro Milwaukee, more than the five Lowe’s locations and only behind the twelve Home Depot locations. The return policy at Home Depot is legendary.
The company’s founders, Bernie Marcus and Arthur Black, described how a man attempted to return a set of tyres in the 1990s despite the fact that Home Depot didn’t sell tires in their book Built from Scratch. To get advice, the service desk agent dialled corporate headquarters. It was instructed to John Menard Jr. to ask the client how much he had paid for the tyres and to issue a refund.
The tyres were left hanging there as a constant reminder that the customer is always right. Home Depot was more concerned with the lifetime worth of the consumer than with theft and mistakes.Contrastingly, John Menard Jr.’s policy forbade returns without a receipt. However, under pressure from Home Depot, Menards’ policy changed to “If we sell it, you take it back” by the middle of the 1990s, according to Brobst.
Menard claimed that Home Depot’s ads in Chicago and Minneapolis-St. Paul, which implied that Menards provided inferior goods, was “blatantly” incorrect as the competition heated up, and was taken down by the Council of Better Business Bureaus. Menards sued Home Depot in 2003, claiming that it “ripped off” the fliers from its business and put them in its stores.
A federal magistrate mediated the conflict, which was ultimately resolved in Menards’ favour for a minor financial payment. On the racecourse, things went more smoothly. In 1997 and 1999, the Menards team won the Indy Racing League championship. He may have been overjoyed by his triumph since he immediately opened up to the media, telling one national publication that he had fantasies about ramming the CEO of Home Depot with his race vehicle.
Menards’ “excellence in brand building” in “coming head-to-head with Home Depot” was praised by Advertising Age in 1999. One of the 100 marketing wonders listed in the article was Menard. To defeat his adversaries, John Menard Jr. devised a different strategy. In 1998, he received a $20.6 million salary, which was three times the CEO salary of Lowe’s and seven times the salary of Home Depot.
A former senior business executive who requested anonymity said, “In his universe, everything is assessed by your money account.” “He kept saying that I was winning; it’s only a game,”Menard supersized his new stores in 2004 and 2005, while Lowe’s and Home Depot downsized and concentrated on creating more compact, 80,000 to 100,000 square foot urban stores.
He constructed a massive two-story store in St. Paul, Minnesota, complete with a moving walkway that transports shoppers’ carts to the second floor while passing a baby grand piano and plasma screens promoting specials. He unveiled the mother of all big boxes for home improvement in Duluth, Minnesota, a 250,000-square-foot behemoth that is more than twice the size of a regular Home Depot.
In addition to expanding his already broad range of products, John Menard Jr. also added appliance showrooms and garden centres. More monster stores are planned by the corporation. Industry experts believe it’s a significant gamble, but it might also guarantee the company’s existence.
In the meantime, John Menard Jr. has lost the marketing advantage he once had thanks to racing partnerships. The “Official Home Improvement Warehouse of NASCAR” is Home Depot, not Menards. The Nextel Cup title was won by Home Depot in 2005 with former Menards driver Tony Stewart, and Lowe’s won it in 2006.
This results in publicity that is worth millions of dollars. According to sponsorship specialist Eric Wright, Menards’ exposure to the racing industry last year was worth $22.2 million. However, Home Depot and Lowe’s were each worth $98.6 and $143.6 million, respectively.
Menard donated $15 million to Luther Midelfort Hospital in Eau Claire in January 2008. The grant helped the hospital with staff education and training as well as the creation of a new emergency services department. Menard gave the Eau Claire Area YMCA a $10 million donation in 2015.
The donation enabled the John and Fay Menard YMCA Tennis Center, which has eight courts, to take the place of the LE Phillips Tennis Center, a five-court facility that debuted in 1972. The Menard family gave $5 million to Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law’s Drug Enforcement and Policy Center in 2019.
The grant also helps fund an endowed lecture and an annual national conference in addition to promoting the centre’s research, engagement, and student development. Menard, a supporter of conservative causes, has made contributions to the Koch brothers’ political organisations.

Menard also has an engine shop in the UK that specialises in producing engines for Team Menard and Robby Gordon Motorsports. In opposition to Menards, the EPA issued an administrative order in 2006 for damaging a stream in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, that passed through company properties by keeping a 66-inch storm sewage pipe on the stream for 1,350 linear feet and covering it with topsoil. He held the title of Wisconsin’s richest person in 2007.
He is a board associate with Polaris Industries, which specialises in producing ATVs and snowmobiles. Menards agreed to pay a $30,000 refund in 2011 for irrational state regulations that forbade the disposal of deadly trash.
