Early Life
She fell in love with Ramnik Lal, her father’s accountant, while in college and ran away from home with him. According to reports, they secretly married each other in a modest temple in Kathiawad. On Ramnik’s request, Ganga then packed some of her clothes, cash, and her mother’s jewellery in a tiny bag. The pair then took a train to Mumbai. They arrived in Mumbai two days later and slept at a lodge. Ramnik made love to Ganga for the first time in the lodge. The pair then spent the following few days travelling across the city. After nearly a week, Ramnik asked Ganga to stay with his aunt for a few days since the lodge was getting too costly.
Karim Lala’s men once raped Gangubai, prompting her to come to Karim for retribution and even tie a Rakhi to him. Later, Gangubai, who had been a victim of the prostitute trade, rose to become one of Kamathipura’s most feared pimps throughout the 1960s. She plied her profession in the red-light area of Hera Mandi and ran a brothel in Kamathipura. Her regular clientele included several well-known underground mafias and gangsters. Despite being a despised woman, she had a soft spot for women sold into prostitution. She used to advocate for such ladies and care for them as if they were her own children. One such event is her confrontation with one of the important members of a well-known gang.
She battled for a brothel girl who was reportedly raped by a thug. Gangubai was the uncontested queen of Mumbai’s brothel business. She apparently never coerced any girl into prostitution, instead working to improve the situation of sex workers and orphan children.
Gangubai Kothwali was from a Gujarati family with significant links to the royal Kathiawadi line. Her family included well-known attorneys and educators. Her parents are hardly known. She fled her family at a young age with her partner, Ramnik Lal, who first married her and then sold her into prostitution.
She had four adoptive children. Babu Rawji Shah/Babu Raoji Shah is the name of one of her sons. She also had a granddaughter, Bharti, who was born to his son, Babu Raoji Shah.
Documentary Film
The film ‘Gangubai Kathaiwadi,’ starring Alia Bhatt, was released on February 25, 2022. The film is based on Gangubai Harjivandas’ actual story. Her life was detailed in S. Hussain Zaidi’s book ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai.’ Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Jayantilal Gada are producing the film.
Alia Bhatt plays the title heroine, with key parts also played by Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari, and Seema Pahwa, with Ajay Devgn making a long cameo appearance.
Gangubai Kathiawadi
Net Worth
Gangubai Harjivandas had a net worth in the range of 5 – 10 crores INR at the time of death.
Gangubai was well-known for her attempts to improve Kamathipura’s living circumstances.
She has links with some of Mumbai’s most feared criminals since they were her frequent clientele.
Gangu manufactured herself gold jewellery using the money she collected from her brothel clients. Apart from attending movies at a neighbouring theatre, this was her sole luxury.
She was the first woman in the country to launch franchise brothels in several cities. She even sold narcotics and provided murder instructions.
Gangubai once met India’s then-Prime Minister, Jawahar Lal Nehru, to highlight the challenges encountered by sex workers in her locality. Nehru was reportedly pleased by her leadership abilities and clarity of ideas.
When Nehru questioned Gangu why she had gotten into the brothel industry when she might have had a nice profession and a spouse, Gangu apparently threw a proposition at him.
Gangubai was a wealthy lady despite living in the Kamathipura slums. In those days, she was the only brothel madam who had a black Bentley.
Gangubai was said to be the protector of several dons. She would offer them with refuge and even advice when necessary.
Kothewali thought that just because she had surrendered her body for the pleasure of others did not give anyone the right to insult or degrade her dignity.
Gangubai’s kind heart had gained her many fans. Her heroes and photo frames may still be found on many Kamathipura walls today.
Gangubai is also mentioned in one of Hussain Zaidi’s chapters in his book “Mafia Queens Of Mumbai.”
Gangubai Kathiawadi was well-known for her efforts to improve the lives of sex workers and orphan children.
Did Gangubai Harjivandas have children?
Gangubai never had her own children. She did, however, strive for the betterment of prostitutes in Kamathipura’s renowned red light area, and she allegedly adopted numerous children throughout her lifetime.
Who did Gangubai love?
She fell in love with Ramnik Lal, her father’s accountant, during her college years when she was 16 years old. Ganga fled Kathiawad with him and moved to Mumbai to settle down and start a new life with him.

Life Journey
Known as “Little Leader,” Woodgram tells the full story of a football genius.
Here you will find a complete account of Lucas Torreira’s childhood along with his untold biography facts.
He is analyzed in terms of his family history, his life before fame, his rise to fame story, his relationship, and details about his personal life.
There is no doubt that everyone knows about his smallish appearance and powerful zeal. Only a few people consider Lucas Torreira’s biography, which is quite interesting. Let’s begin now without further ado.
Family Background And Early Life
As a start to his biography, he goes by Lucas Sebastián Torreira Di Pascua. In Fray Bentos, Uruguay, Lucas Torreira was born on the 11th of February 1996 to Viviana Di Pascua and Ricardo Torreira.
Lucas Torreira With His Family
In Lucas’s middle-class family, happiness and contentment were not held hostage by their middle-class background. Lucas grew up with his parents, sisters Ana and Pitu Torreira, and two brothers named Brahian and Bebo Torreira, as well as his grandparents.
During a summer evening in Fray Bentos, you can cycle along tranquil beaches, especially at sunset. He has always enjoyed watching the yellow fading sunset alone with his mum, who is a housekeeper since he was a child.
Lucas Torreira With His Father And Sister Ana
Lucas has a good relationship with his dad as well. He enjoys spending time with his dad in the sleepy, charming riverside area of Fray Bentos, where his dad is a rich butcher. A recent example of this is the Torreira family’s production and export of corn beef in 2017, which has made them well known in the Fray Bentos meat business.
Lucas bought one of the largest butcher shops for his family. As a tribute to his Italian club, Sampdoria, he called it ‘La 34.’
Corned beef is supplied by Fray Bentos throughout the world. In addition, both British and American troops were fed Fray Bentos meat during World War I and II.
Starting Out On A Rocky Path
Lucas was the most eccentric and energetic brother among his brothers and excelled in sports primarily. It was early on that he became attached to playing football, which he believed would uplift him and his family.
To begin his professional journey, Lucas enrolled in his local team, on July 18, which gave him an opportunity to show off his skills. Lucas had the desire to play for a bigger club in Montevideo, Uruguay’s capital, just like many young footballers in Fray Bentos.
To demonstrate his obsession, he applied for several trials and was invited to Montevideo, Uruguay’s capital.
The Rocky Journey
Lucas’ first visit to Uruguay’s capital city didn’t go exactly as he had hoped. When Lucas was back in Fray Bentos, frightening words came through that he was in trouble.
Despite still being a nine-year-old, a brave nine-year-old traveled to Montevideo for trials with Penarol’s youth team in search of a professional contract. For Lucas;
The club, the city, and the opportunity were all big.
It was a long way from Little Lucas’ home to Montevideo and a long way from help when he reached Montevideo. Before and after his trials, he was supposed to stay in the capital.
It was unfortunate for Lucas to hear that he would no longer be able to live in his accommodation. His miserable 200-mile journey home was cut short by his lack of money at that point.
An Inspiring Rise To Fame
Lucas was still considered second fiddle to other Uruguayan senior players before Uruguay’s second World Cup match. In Uruguay’s matches against Egypt and Saudi Arabia, he did not even start.
Against Russia, Portugal, and France, Lucas, however, was in the starting eleven. After Lucas started proving himself at the tournament, all Uruguayan fans at home and abroad began to support him for every hustle and tussle he made especially against much bigger and stronger opponents.
The world cup tournament provided Lucas with the much-needed fame he deserved. During the tournament, he floored Cristiano Ronaldo in his match against Portugal. Despite reaching the quarterfinals, his Uruguayan team was unable to advance.
Lucas Torreira is regarded as someone who values his humble beginnings more than anything else in life. Baller Torreira remembers the days when the Torreira family owned only a Vespa motorcycle. Lucas is regarded today as a progressive, original, and independent individual.
It is important for him to keep in touch with family and close friends, including teammates Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal. Lucas dislikes situations that are lonely, dull, or boring. Taking boat rides with Repetto or friends/family is something Lucas never hesitates to do.

2019–20: FA Cup win
In Arsenal’s 2–1 win over Burnley on 17 August, Torreira made his first appearance of the season.
As a substitute for Dani Ceballos in the 61st minute, Torreira scored Arsenal’s first goal of the season.
Early in the season, he struggled for playing time but returned to the starting lineup under new Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.
In an FA Cup win over Portsmouth on 2 March, Torreira suffered a presumably season-ending ankle injury.
When the Premier League resumed in June, Torreira had enough time to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and return to fitness.
For the remainder of the season, he played sparingly.
Atlético Madrid loan for 2020-21
Torreira joined Atlético Madrid on a season-long loan on 5 October 2020. A 2–0 La Liga win against Celta Vigo marked Torreira’s debut on 17 October.
In a 3–1 league win over Osasuna, he scored his first goal for the club off the bench.
Lucas Torreira 2021–22 Season- Loan to Fiorentina
Fiorentina announced on 25 August 2021 that Torreira would join them on loan from Arsenal until 30 June 2022. They would have the option of buying him next summer for around £13 million.
After being named in Italiano’s starting eleven, Torreira made his debut in Fiorentina’s 2–1 win over Atalanta on 12 September.
Lucas Torreira joins Galatasaray in 2022
In August 2022, Torriera signed a four-year contract with Super Lig club Galatasaray for €6 million.
A paternal grandfather from Galicia brought Torreira to Uruguay and gave him Spanish ancestry through his paternal grandmother.
Prior to being capped by Uruguay, he was scouted by the senior Italy national football team.
Torreira was called up to the Uruguayan senior squad for the 2018 China Cup.
The 23 March China Cup semi-final saw him make his debut against the Czech Republic, winning 2–0.
He was named to Uruguay’s final 23-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia in June 2018.
Torreira played in all five Uruguay games during the tournament, which served as a breakthrough for him.
Lucas Torreira Style Of Play
The Independent’s Jack Austin stated when Torreira signed for Arsenal in 2018 “Torreira is precisely the kind of no-nonsense midfielder the club has been searching for”, adding that during the 2018 World Cup, “he did his job as a deep-lying pivot in the middle of the park with no fuss or lack of discipline of a player who has established himself in Serie A,” despite his shortcomings, including his lack of height in aerial duels and inability to score goals.
Torreira often gets fouled and likes to shoot from a distance, according to sources. They also note that he makes tackles and plays short passes. The manager of Atlético Madrid, Diego Simeone, applauded Torreira’s work rate and speed on the pitch.
After reading his biography, you will agree with me that Lucas Torreira worked so hard to achieve success. Even poor kids from the slum can dream big and achieve their dreams thanks to him.
It is important to note that his father and mother were key catalysts in his success story. His career life would not be the same without their contributions. They deserve all the accolades for what they have done.
In addition, his sibling’s and friends’ efforts should not be overlooked. As a result of them, he never experienced loneliness or depression during his childhood. Lucas Torreira has grown into a cheerful youth as a result of them.

Celso Borges Personal Life
Up until 2017, when he gave up his Brazilian citizenship to become a Spanish citizen, Borges was also a Brazilian citizen through his father.
As a member of the Costa Rican national football team, Borges is frequently regarded as one of the most intelligent players. Antonio Alfaro of La Nación referred to him as “the archetypal Costa Rican player,” while Diego Torres of El Pas labeled him “the brain of Costa Rica” and “a creative midfielder with lovely diction.” Borges speaks English, Portuguese, and Swedish in addition to his native Spanish.
Borges, a drummer who performs in the band Killswitch Engage and is a lover of heavy metal, has performed a rendition of System of a Down’s “Toxicity” with Peruvian musician Kurt Dyer. Other bands he like include Metallica, Dream Theater, Slipknot, and Killswitch Engage.

On January 15, 2006, Borges, being 18 years old, made his professional debut with Saprissa. Together with Saprissa, he captured five national titles.
Fredrikstad FK
When Borges’ contract with Saprissa expired on July 1, 2009, Fredrikstad FK’s sports director Tor-Kristian Karlsen stated that Borges had signed for them.
Later, Fredrikstad agreed to pay Deportivo Saprissa 1 million kroner (125,000 euros) so Borges could join the squad right away and play for Fredrikstad when the season began on April 14 against the reigning league champion Stabaek. Borges said in March 2011 that he will depart Fredrikstad either during or after the 2011 campaign.
AIK
On January 1, 2012, it was made official that Borges, a free agent, will sign a three-year deal with Swedish soccer team AIK Stockholm after departing Fredrikstad FK. Martin Kayongo-former Mutumba’s number 10 jersey was given to him.
Borges played in his debut game for AIK on April 1, 2012, in a contest against Mjällby AIF. In the next match, he scored the game-winning goal against Kalmar FF to record his first goal for the team. He served as the team’s striker for the first half of the season under manager Andreas Alm. But following the summer break, he slid down and began to play as a central midfielder, and as a result, he became the team’s first pick at that position.
Borges signed a contract with Deportivo de La Corua on January 14, 2015, committing to play for them through the conclusion of the current campaign with a two-year extension option. He started in a 1-2 away win over Rayo Vallecano on January 30, which served as his La Liga debut, and scored twice in his first official game for Dépor.

Club Career
Despite being overlooked by teams due to his slender build, Mahrez developed ball skills that made him stand out. Mahrez joined AAS Sarcelles in 2004. A two-month trial at Scottish club St Mirren ended when the weather turned cold.
Mahrez joined Quimper from AAS Sarcelles in 2009, making 22 appearances and scoring two goals in his debut season. During his time playing for Quimper, he lived with Mathias Pogba.
After being enticed by the youth system of Le Havre, he turned down offers from leading French clubs Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille in 2010. Initially playing for their reserve team, Le Havre II, he then played 60 times and scored 6 goals for their first team in the French Ligue 2 from 2011 until he left in January 2014.
Leicester City’s scout Steve Walsh tracked Le Havre teammate Ryan Mendes while Mahrez was playing for Le Havre, but ended up being impressed with Mahrez instead. Mahrez had never heard of Leicester, whom he initially believed to be a rugby club.
Leicester City signed him on 11 January 2014 for around £450,000 on a three-and-a-half-year contract. Initially, his friends and family were opposed to him moving to England because of the physical nature of the game, believing that his style of play would be better suited to Spain.
Mahrez made his debut on 25 January 2014, replacing fellow winger Lloyd Dyer in the 79th minute of the 2–0 win against Middlesbrough. Nigel Pearson announced in February 2014 that Mahrez was ready to start games for Leicester after he made four substitute appearances and scored his first goal for the club, an equalizer against local rivals Nottingham Forest in the 82nd minute.
Mahrez made his Premier League debut on 16 August 2014 and scored his first goal in the division on 4 October 2014 during a 2–2 draw with Burnley. Mahrez played for the Leicester team that won seven of its final nine matches of the season to avoid relegation. In a 2–0 defeat of Southampton on 9 May, he scored both goals and ended the season with four goals and three assists from 30 appearances.
In August 2015, he signed a new four-year contract with Leicester. Mahrez scored two goals against Sunderland in a 4–2 victory at home on 8 August 2015.
Mahrez was nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award after scoring four goals in his first four games of the season. As of 3 November 2015, he had scored seven goals in 10 Premier League games.
Raheem Mahrez scored a hat-trick in Leicester’s 3–0 win over Swansea City on 5 December to go top of the Premier League, making him the first Algerian to score a hat-trick in the Premier League.
Mahrez’s transfer value rose from £4.5 million to £30.1 million in January 2016, making him among the top 50 most valuable players in Europe.
Mahrez was named one of four Leicester players in the PFA Team of the Year in April 2016 and won the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award later that month. This was Mahrez’s first award of this type. Mahrez became the first Algerian to win a Premier League medal when Leicester finished the season as champions.
In August 2016, he signed a new four-year contract with Leicester. In October 2016, he was nominated for the Ballon d’Or and finished seventh. In December 2016, he won the BBC African Footballer of the Year award.
The Algerian did not have a particularly successful season, especially with the decline in the level of Leicester, but he helped the club reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time, scoring four goals and assisting two. Mahrez scored a goal in his 100th Premier League game for Leicester, against Watford, on 6 May.
Mahrez announced at the end of the 2016–17 season that he would leave the club. In July 2017, Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger expressed interest in signing Mahrez, while Roma had a bid rejected for Mahrez.
Even though his future at the club is uncertain, he spoke of his “focus” in August 2017. On 31 August, the final day of the transfer window, the Algerian Football Federation reported that they had allowed him to leave the national team and travel quickly to Europe in order to complete a transfer to an interested club. However, the transfer did not materialize.
In January 2018, he again requested a transfer away from the club. Mahrez stopped attending training at Leicester after a move to Manchester City fell through.
