Melissa McCarthy grew up in a poor family who struggled to pay their bills. Melissa used this as motivation to work hard and never give up on her dreams. Her belief and determination lifted her out of poverty to become one of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood, with a net worth of $90,000,000.
Additionally, McCarthy was named 100 Most Influential People in the World by Time Magazine in 2016. Forbes Magazine ranked her third highest-paid actress in the world in 2015 and 9th in 2018. When “Mike & Molly” was airing, Melissa routinely earned $15+ million between her various endeavors. In 2015 alone, Melissa earned over $33 million thanks to appearances in movies like Ghostbusters.
Between July 2016 and July 2017, Melissa earned $18 million. The following year she made $12 million (the first year “Mike & Molly” was no longer airing).
Melissa is somewhat of a real estate mogul. Here’s a brief rundown of some of her properties:
In March 2020 Melissa and her husband paid $2.4 million for a newly constructed home in LA’s suburb of Valley Village. Not too far from this home, they already own a much larger house in an area called Toluca Lake. They bought their first Toluca Lake home in 2009 for $780,000.
In Toluca Lake, they also own a custom-built home on a property they purchased in 2012 for $3.5 million. Ben and Melissa previously owned a home in Los Feliz, California which they sold in 2009 for $2.5 million.

After bagging a role in Gilmore Girls, Melissa went on a crazy diet, which she says she will never go back to! She went on a doctor-supervised liquid diet and lost 70 pounds in four months. But she said she felt, “starved and crazy half the time.” The best diets are the ones that don’t make you feel hungry all the time.
Try the fast metabolism diet if that’s what you are looking for. Melissa McCarthy chose to go on a low-carb diet as that seemed to work well for her. Let’s find out what she ate and how the diet helped her shed the pounds.
In Los Angeles, McCarthy became a member of the legendary improvisation and sketch comedy troupe The Groundlings. A “Groundling” refers to an individual company member who both writes for and acts in shows while teaching classes at the company’s school.
McCarthy passed nine years as a main-stage member, making numerous television and film roles along the way, including her screen debut on cousin Jenny McCarthy’s 1997 variety show. From 2000 to 2003, Melissa McCarthy also had supporting roles in films like The Kid, Charlie’s Angels, and Go.
In 2000 McCarthy landed her breakthrough role on the popular WB show Gilmore Girls, providing a nuanced, fun, and captivating role of the character Sookie St. James, a chef who’s the best friend of Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham). The two women would eventually open their own establishment, Dragonfly Inn, and Sookie herself took the initiative and entered into romance/family life with produce supplier Jackson Belleville (Jackson Douglas).
McCarthy became an essential part of the esteemed series and Graham enjoyed a close friendship off the set as well, with Graham checking out her co-star’s Groundling works. Gilmore Girls ran until 2007, at which time McCarthy acted alongside Ryan Reynolds in the psychological thriller The Nines.
From 2007 to 2009, McCarthy portrayed the socially awkward best friend of Christina Applegate in the comedy series Samantha Who? Beginning in 2010, McCarthy played the fourth-grade teacher Molly opposite actor Billy Gardell on the CBS hit sitcom Mike & Molly, a role for which she received her first Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. The show aired its final episode in 2016.
In 2011 McCarthy starred in the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Bridesmaids alongside fellow former Groundling Kristen Wiig. In the Paul Feig-directed film, McCarthy stole the show as Megan, the assertive, walks-to-her-own-drum sister of the groom.
McCarthy and Annie Mumolo, another Groundling alumnus who co-wrote Bridesmaids, soon sold a pitch to Lorne Michaels and John Goldwyn for Paramount Pictures about a group of Midwestern women who set out to steal the Stanley Cup. Since Bridesmaids, McCarthy has started roles in other films like This Is 40 (2012), billed as a “sort-of sequel” to the 2007 film Knocked Up, and Identity Thief (2013), with Jason Bateman.
McCarthy continued to show her strong appeal at the box office, with Sandra Bullock in the buddy comedy and summer blockbuster The Heat (2013). McCarthy plays a Boston cop who teams up with an FBI agent, played by Bullock.
The following year saw the release of another comedy, Tammy, which McCarthy co-wrote with her husband — actor, writer, and Bridesmaids co-star Ben Falcone. The neighborhood comedy St. Vincent was released later in 2014, with McCarthy starring as a single mom opposite Bill Murray and Naomi Watts.
In June 2015, McCarthy took the lead in another Feig project, the espionage spoof Spy, in which she plays a CIA desk agent who gets her chance to become a major player out in the field.
In 2016 McCarthy starred in The Boss, directed by Falcone and written by Falcone, McCarthy, and Steve Mallory. In the big-screen comedy, McCarthy plays a businesswoman who has to reinvent herself after going to prison for insider business. That same year she starred in the all-female revamp of Ghostbusters, another collaboration with Feig.
McCarthy also became a popular host of Saturday Night Live, known for her impression of White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer.
In May 2017, she hosted SNL for the fifth time, joining the show’s “Five-Timers Club,” which includes Alec Baldwin, Steve Martin, Candice Bergen, Tom Hanks, Justin Timberlake, Drew Barrymore, Tina Fey, and Scarlett Johannson, among others.
In 2018 McCarthy acted in the comedy Life of the Party, which was directed by her husband, and the puppet black comedy thriller The Happytime Murders, co-starring Maya Rudolph, Elizabeth Banks, and Joel McHale.
However, it was her role in that year’s Can You Ever Forgive Me? that captured the attention of critics. Based on Lee Israel’s 2008 memoir, the film features McCarthy as a struggling writer who hits pay dirt by forging letters from deceased literary greats, leading to Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations.
In 2019 McCarthy joined Tiffany Haddish and Elisabeth Moss to play a trio of mob wives who take charge of criminal operations in The Kitchen. That year it was also said that McCarthy would take over as host of NBC’s Little Big Shots for its fourth season. Formerly hosted by Steve Harvey, Little Big Shots features children showing off their talents as singers, dancers, painters, and more.

Personal life
D’Cruz was born into a Goan Catholic family in Mahim, Mumbai, and raised partly in Mumbai and partly in Goa. Her family relocated to Parra, Goa when she was 10 years old. Her mother tongue is Konkani.
During that time, the manager of the hotel her mother was working in, suggested that she had a vibrant smile and should start modelling and fixed a meeting with Marc Robinson. Though initially reluctant, she was persuaded and her first portfolio was created in January 2003, which she described as a “disaster”. She began gaining notice through photo shoots and ramp shows and her second portfolio was set up the following year, which landed her three advertisements from Electrolux, Emami Talc and Fair & Lovely. The latter, in particular, which was directed by Rakesh Roshan, gave her exposure and brought in several offers for acting in feature films.
She is in a live in relationship with Andrew Kneebone, an Australian photographer. It is rumored that they both have already been married.

Ileana D’Cruz Fat
Below are some excerpts from Ileana’s story, in which she admits to having succumbed to the pressure of ‘looking perfect’, to make it big in the Hindi film industry.
Career
2005–2006
In 2005, D’Cruz was called for an audition by director Teja, but the project was canceled. She instead made her feature film debut in the Telugu language romance film Devadasu (2006), directed by Y. V. S. Chowdhary. She underwent acting classes with Aruna Bhikshu, before starting to work on the film. She recalls that during filming she felt “pressured almost cried and didn’t want to go further”, but went ahead after her mother encouraged her, giving her “the lecture of a lifetime at 3 am.” A review from Indiaglitz stated that she “has chiseled features and a figure to-die-for.” Devadasu became the year’s first major commercial success, eventually grossing around ₹140 million, whilst earning D’Cruz the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debutant. She next appeared in the gangster film Pokiri in which she portrayed an aerobics teacher, who is harassed by a corrupt police officer. The film was a high financial success, emerging as the highest-grossing Telugu film at the time.
Later that year she starred in the films Rechipo and Y. V. S. Choudary’s Saleem both of which performed poorly at the box office.
D’Cruz had 2 releases in 2011. Her first film that year was Shakti, where she essayed the lead female role. She gave a stage performance for this movie’s audio release function along with Jr. NTR, as part of the promotion of the film. The socio-fantasy film, the costliest Telugu film ever made at ₹ 250,000,000, Her next release was Nenu Naa Rakshasi, which marked her second collaboration with Puri Jagannadh. Though the film was a failure, her performance was received positively by critics; an Indiaglitz reviewer described her as a “pleasant surprise in the film” as she “cried, smirked, looked hot, grabbed sympathy and made faces that were apt to the scenes”, while cine goer’s reviewer cited that the film had “one bright spot, Ileana, she looks stunning and also like an accomplished senior to the hero.” Despite her recent failures, D’Cruz continued to be the highest-paid actress in South India.
2012–2013
In early 2012, she starred in the Kollywood film Nanban, a remake of the 2009 Hindi film 3 Idiots directed by S. Shankar. The film opened to critical acclaim and became a major financial success. Her next release was the Telugu film Julai. The film opened to positive reviews and became the third biggest hit in 2012 and the biggest hit in Telugu. She then starred in Puri Jagannadh’s comedy Devudu Chesina Manushulu. In this film, she played the role of a taxi driver. The film received mixed reviews and eventually underperformed at the box office.
She next appeared in the Rajkumar Santoshi action comedy film Phata Poster Nikhla Hero opposite Shahid Kapoor. The film released on 20 September 2013 to mixed reviews and the film was eventually declared a poor grosser at the box office. However, D’Cruz received mixed reviews for her performance, with the Times of India saying that she was “good with emotions but not so tuned into comedy yet.”
Ileana D’Cruz Hottest Picture
2014–2017
In April 2014 she gave a photoshoot for India’s well-known magazine Man’s World. Her first release of 2014 was Main Tera Hero alongside Varun Dhawan and Nargis Fakhri, produced by Balaji Motion Pictures. The film was a semi-hit. She then appeared in Saif Ali Khan’s maiden production Happy Ending where she played lead along Saif Ali Khan, Govinda, and Kalki Koechlin which released on 21 November 2014. The film met with negative reviews and was commercially unsuccessful.
After taking a sabbatical, in February 2016 she started Akshay Kumar‘s Rustom which released in August 2016. The film emerged as one of the highest Indian grossing films of 2016.
In 2017, her films Mubarakan starring opposite Arjun Kapoor and Anil Kapoor and Baadshaho starring opposite Ajay Devgn both failed to find an audience in the box office.
2018–present
D’Cruz’s first release of 2018 Raid, opened to positive critical and commercial feedback. After six years hiatus, she signed a Telugu film Amar Akbar Anthony starring opposite her frequent co-star Ravi Teja.

Michael Landon was born Eugene Maurice Orowitz, on Saturday, October 31st, 1936, in Forest Hills, Queens, New York. In 1941, he and his family moved to Collingswood, New Jersey. Michael Landon was a popular American actor, director, and producer. Considered to be a television legend, he was featured on the cover of TV Guide 22 times, second only to Lucille Ball.
Landon, who was from a Jewish-Catholic family, grew up in a largely Protestant neighborhood, battling personal issues both at home and the schoolyard. Overcoming the odds, he successfully auditioned for the Warner Bros. acting school and made his screen debut in 1955 in an episode of the comedy-western ‘Luke and the Tenderfoot’. He landed his first leading role in the cult classic ‘I Was a Teenage Werewolf’ in 1957 and followed that up by playing an albino in the critically acclaimed ‘God’s Little Acre’.
In 1959, he was cast in his career-defining role as Little Joe Cartwright in the Western-drama ‘Bonanza’. Since then, he had portrayed other memorable characters on TV, such as Charles Ingalls in ‘Little House on the Prairie’ and Jonathan Smith in ‘Highway to Heaven’, establishing a glorious and lasting legacy. He had written, directed, and produced several episodes of his various shows as well as numerous telefilms. He was also an accomplished singer, releasing several tracks over the years. In 1984, Landon received his own Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Michael Landon was an American actor, writer, director and producer born on October 31, 1936, in Queens, New York. Born Eugene Maurice Orowitz, he changed his name to Michael Landon after entering acting school.
Landon appeared in several notable roles, starring in the film I Was a Teenage Werewolf and the TV series Bonanza and Little House on the Prairie. Landon died of cancer on July 1, 1991.

Originally named Eugene Maurice Orowitz, Landon was born on October 31, 1936, in New York City, New York to parents Peggy (née O’Neill) and Eli Maurice Orowitz. He had a sister named Evelyn who was three years older than him. In 1941, the family relocated to Philadelphia, New Jersey where his Bar Mitzvah was held at Temple Beth Shalom. Eli worked as a studio publicist and theatre manager while Peggy was a comedian and dancer.
He had a troublesome childhood with an emotionally unstable mother at home and social pressures at school. Once, during a beach vacation, his mother attempted suicide by drowning herself.

Landon managed to save her but it deeply affected him. The incident, which he later dubbed as the worst experience in his life, left him in stress, which in turn caused his childhood problem of nocturnal enuresis to persist. His mother would hang the wet sheets outside his window to display them to the neighbors, further traumatizing him.
Landon studied at Collingwood High School where he displayed prodigious skills as a javelin thrower. It even garnered him a sports scholarship to the University of Southern California but a torn ligament during his freshman year put a stop to his sports career.
American actor best remembered for his roles as Little Joe Cartwright in Bonanza, Charles Ingalls in Little House on the Prairie, and Jonathan Smith in Highway to Heaven. One of his Little House co-stars – Melissa Anderson – commented upon his stature in her book, saying “He wore lifts almost all the time back then. Our wardrobe man, Andy, said that between the lifts on the inside of his ‘Charles Ingalls’ boots and the heels on the outside, he gained quite a few inches.”

Career
Two of his first big roles were as Tony Rivers in I Was a Teenage Werewolf (1957) and Tom Dooley in the western The Legend of Tom Dooley (1959). That same year he was approached by producer David Dortort to star in a pilot called The Restless Gun (1957), which was renamed when the series was picked up to Bonanza (1959). Landon played Little Joe Cartwright, the youngest of the three Cartwright brothers, a cocky and somewhat rebellious youth nevertheless had a way with the ladies.
For 14 years, Landon became the heart and soul of the show, endearing himself to both younger and older viewers, and he became a household name during the 1960s and 1970s.
In 1968, after almost ten years of playing Little Joe, he wanted an opportunity to direct and write some episodes of the show. After the season finale in 1972, Dan Blocker, who played his older brother Hoss and was also a close friend, died from a blood clot in his lung, after gall bladder surgery, but Michael decided to go back to work, revisiting his own character in a two-part episode called “Forever.”
Bonanza (1959) was finally canceled in early 1973, after 14 years and 430 episodes. Michael didn’t have to wait long until he landed another successful role that most TV audiences of the 1970s would thoroughly enjoy, his second TV western, for NBC, Little House on the Prairie (1974).
That show was based on a popular book written by Laura Ingalls Wilder, and he played enduring patriarch and farmer Charles Ingalls. Unlike Bonanza (1959), where he was mostly just a “hired gun,” on this show he served as the producer, writer, director, and executive producer.
Michael Landon First Wife Dodie Levy-Fraser
By the end of its eighth season in 1982, Landon decided to step down from his role on “Little House” as he saw his TV children grown up and moved out of their father’s house, and a year later, the show was canceled.
After 14 years on Bonanza (1959) and 8 years on Little House on the Prairie (1974), it was about time to focus on something else, and once again, he didn’t have to wait too long before Highway to Heaven (1984) came along.
Unlike the western shows that he did for 23 years, this NBC fantasy/drama show focused on Jonathan Smith, an angel whose job was to save peoples’ lives and work for God, his boss. Victor French played ex-cop Mark Gordon, who turned down a fortune but had redeemed himself by meeting Jonathan.

Michael Landon Death And Battle With Cancer
After Little House on the Prairie, Landon went on to produce, direct and star in another much-loved series, Highway to Heaven and wrote and directed the TV film, Where Pigeons Go to Die. In 1991, Landon had a new family-oriented pilot in production, when friends and relatives noticed he was looking tired.
He assured them it was just because he was working hard to get his new show underway. At the end of March, he cut short a Utah ski trip with Cindy and their children because he was having severe abdominal pains. On his own, back in Los Angeles, he checked into Cedars-Sinai Hospital for an MRI, which revealed a large tumor. A biopsy confirmed the worst news.

After a brief stay in the hospital at the end of May to treat a blood clot, Landon made peace with his fate and decided to live out his remaining days at home with his family. In the coming months, he spoke with his sister on the phone regularly, repairing that tenuous relationship.
On the afternoon of July 1st, surrounded by his family and close friends, he passed away at his Malibu home. His ashes were placed in a mausoleum close to the grave of his beloved TV father, Lorne Greene.
Michael Landon left behind a legacy in a body of work that pays tribute to the American Spirit, the strength of family, a solid work ethic and the infectious joy found in optimism and laughter.

Controversies
Leaning towards politics with an involvement of controversies
The son of Marian (née Pfister) and Frederick Benjamin Anschutz, Anschutz was born in Russell, Kansas. His father was a property developer and oil magnate who bought ranches in Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado before getting into the oil drilling industry. His great-grandfather, Carl Anschutz, was of German descent and founded the Farmers State Bank in Russell after leaving Russia.
Both Anschutz and Bob Dole were raised in Russell. In Kansas, he also resided in Hays and Wichita. Anschutz then gave money to Dole’s political efforts. In addition to earning a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Kansas in 1961 as a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, Anschutz graduated from Wichita High School East in 1957.
Anschutz likes to avoid the spotlight. He is an evangelical conservative Christian and a member of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. He married Nancy when he was 16 and they had three children together. Anschutz was admitted to both the Kansas and American Business Halls of Fame in 2000 and 2002, respectively.
Only three formal interviews with Anschutz have been permitted since 1979, and none from the 1980s until 2015. He ended his media blackout on December 6, 2015, when he made an appearance alongside a number of Major League Soccer founders to commemorate the league’s 20th anniversary. Having completed 15 marathons, Anschutz.Wendall Anschutz, a seasoned news anchor and fellow native of Russell, was his first cousin.

Ownership Of Land
For $10 million, Anschutz acquired the 250,000-acre (1,000 km2) Baughman Farms in Liberal, Kansas, one of the biggest farming conglomerates in the nation. He bought 9 million acres (36,000 km2) along the Utah-Wyoming boundary the next year. His first oil industry riches resulted from this.
Since Prudhoe Bay in Alaska in 1968, the Anschutz Ranch’s billion-barrel (160,000,000 m3) oil pocket has been the greatest oil field find in the United States. This was discovered in the early 1980s. Mobil Oil purchased a stake in it from Anschutz in 1982 for $500 million.Anschutz was Colorado’s only billionaire for a while.
He became one of the top 100 landowners in the country after purchasing property in other Western states. Prior to entering the entertainment sector, Anschutz first worked in the railroad and telecommunications industries.
As both men “made it rich in a fundamentally different way: they operated across an incredible diversity of sectors, conquering and remaking entire economic landscapes,” Fortune magazine likened him to the 19th-century billionaire J.P. Morgan in 1999.
By acquiring Rio Grande Industries, the holding company for the Rio Grande Railroad, Anschutz joined the railroad industry in 1984. Under his leadership, the Rio Grande Railroad acquired the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1988. Anschutz was appointed vice-chairman of Union Pacific following the merger of the Southern Pacific and Union Pacific Corporation in September 1996.
He served as a Southern Pacific director from June 1988 to September 1996 before the merger and as non-executive chairman from 1993 to 1996. Beginning in 1995, he served as a director of Forest Oil Corporation. He was appointed Director and Chairman of the Board of Qwest in November 1993.
In 2002, he resigned as non-executive co-chairman, but he remained on the board. Along with serving on the boards of the American Petroleum Institute and the National Petroleum Council in Washington, D.C., he has also served as a director for Pacific Energy Partners. When Native American tribes attempted to protect ancient rock carvings in Weatherman Draw in south-central Montana, the Bush administration backed Anschutz’s right to develop an exploratory oil well there in May 2001.
Ten Native American tribes, environmental organisations, and preservationists unsuccessfully challenged the verdict. The Anschutz Exploration Corporation abandoned its ambitions to drill for oil in the region in April 2002The Bureau of Land Management stated that it had no plans to permit further leases there and would consider formally withdrawing the 4,268-acre (17 km2) site from mineral leasing in its 2004 management plan.
They donated their oil and gas leases to the National Trust for Historic Preservation, which has promised to let the leases expire. The Anschutz Exploration Corporation received The National Trust for Historic Preservation’s President’s Award in appreciation of its preservation work.
After launching a legal case accusing Anschutz of collecting IPO shares from Salomon Smith Barney in return for Qwest’s investment banking business, New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer and Anschutz came to an agreement in May 2003. Anschutz refused to admit guilt but offered to contribute a total of $4.4 million to resolve the dispute if he could choose the recipients beforehand.
Anschutz gave $200,000 to each of the six law schools, as well as $100,000 to each of the 32 nonprofit charitable organisations in New York. Spitzer relinquished his civil lawsuit in exchange. He really received no punishment because the payment was comparable to the profit he made from the IPO “spinning” activity.
A Wall Street Journal editorial titled “The Anschutz Ransom” criticised Spitzer’s lawsuit. After conducting a thorough investigation of Qwest officials, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice found no cause for action against any board members.
In the words of The Denver Post, “Qwest founder and board member Philip Anschutz not only is not a defendant in the long-awaited legal action against the regime of former Qwest chief executive Joe Nacchio, but he also doesn’t even earn a mention in the 50-page complaint.”
The Denver Rocky Mountain News announced in February 2006 that Anschutz will step down from the Regal Entertainment Group board and would not seek reelection to the boards of Qwest or Union Pacific in order to concentrate on his other interests.Anschutz would acquire Xanterra Parks and Resorts, which had acquired the Grand Canyon Railway in 2007, according to a June 24, 2008 announcement.
The Broadmoor, the Manitou and Pike’s Peak Railway, and the Oklahoma Publishing Company, located in Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs, respectively, were all acquired by Anschutz in 2011, according to a report. As of August 1, 2010, Kingsmill Resort was acquired and put under the administration of Xanterra Parks and Resorts. The resort was bought by Xanterra from Busch Properties, Inc. (BPI).
