Blanchett has continued to mix big-budget projects like The Curious Case of Benjamin Button with roles in theater productions such as the A Streetcar Named Desire. She earned her second Oscar for her portray in Blue Jasmine, which made her the first Australian actor to win more than one Academy Award.
Blanchett made her U.S. feature film debut in 1997’s Paradise Road, about a group of women imprisoned in Japan during WWII. Later that year she took Hollywood’s attention with her work opposite Ralph Fiennes in Oscar and Lucinda.
In 1998, Blanchett‘s Golden Globe-winning portrait of England’s Queen Elizabeth I in Elizabeth brought in the actress her first Academy Award nomination. She was 29 years old.
Blanchett turned in a superb supporting performance in 1999’s The Talented Mr. Ripley, a film also featuring Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Jude Law.
Then in 2000, she played a psychic woman in a small Southern town in the thriller The Gift, starring alongside Katie Holmes and Greg Kinnear. The following year Blanchett co-starred with Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton in the comic caper Bandits, and with Kevin Spacey and Julianne Moore in The Shipping News.
Additionally, she headlined the World War II-era drama Charlotte Gray, playing a British woman who is drawn into the French resistance movement.
In 2001, Blanchett appeared as the benevolent royal elf Galadriel in The Fellowship of the Ring, the first installment of The Lord of the Rings film franchise directed by Peter Jackson and based on the novel by J.R.R. Tolkien.
Blanchett returned to the character for the second and third installments of the trilogy (reuniting with Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Orlando Bloom, and Liv Tyler, among other recurring Lord of the Rings cast members): The Two Towers, released in 2002, and The Return of the King, released in 2003.
In 2005, Blanchett garnered her biggest cinematic accolade to date: She earned an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for portraying Katharine Hepburn in the Howard Hughes biopic The Aviator (2004), directed by Martin Scorsese.
In 2006, she teamed up with Brad Pitt for the drama Babel, and the following year she returned to one of her most famous characters for Elizabeth: The Golden Age.
In 2007, the actress took on another legendary portrayal: She was one of the actors to portray music legend Bob Dylan in the acclaimed biopic I’m Not There, directed by Todd Haynes.
In 2008, Blanchett teamed up with Pitt once more, starring as the dancer Daisy alongside his title character in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, about a man who ages in reverse time. Directed by David Fincher, the movie’s screenplay was inspired by a story originally written by F. Scott Fitzgerald in the early 20th century.
In 2012, Blanchett returned to the character Galadriel yet again, this time for a new Jackson-directed series, The Hobbit. The franchise is a trilogy based on another work from Tolkien published years before The Lord of the Rings that feature the same world.
The series’ first film, An Unexpected Journey, was released in December 2012, and its second and third parts, The Desolation of Smaug and There and Back Again, hit theaters in 2013 and 2014, respectively. Blanchett was featured in each part.
Blanchett won another Oscar in 2014, this time for Best Actress, for her enthralling performance as a delusional New York socialite in Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine (2013).
After having co-starred in 2014’s WWII drama The Monuments Men and the animated feature How to Train Your Dragon 2, Blanchett once again inhabited an iconic role, this time as the wicked stepmother in Disney’s 2015 non-animated film adaptation of Cinderella, directed by Kenneth Branagh.
Later that year she portrayed 60 Minutes producer Mary Mapes in James Vanderbilt’s Truth, co-starring Robert Redford as Dan Rather. The film explores the news program’s investigation into President George W. Bush’s military service and the resulting fallout after a questionable on-air report.
Blanchett was also reunited with director Haynes in another drama for the 2015 season, Carol, in which she plays a suburban housewife who becomes romantically involved with a store saleswoman (Rooney Mara). The project was adapted from a 1952 novel by Patricia Highsmith, the same author who’d penned The Talented Mr. Ripley.
In 2017, Blanchett returned to a more fantasy-based genre, playing Thor’s villainous older sister Hela in Thor: Ragnarok. In 2018, she starred in the all-female heist comedy Ocean’s 8, with Sandra Bullock, as well as in the fantasy film The House with a Clock in Its Walls, based on John Bellairs’ 1973 novel.
The following year she played the title character of Richard Linklater’s Where’d You Go, Bernadette, drawing strong praise for her performance amid otherwise lukewarm reviews for the feature.
Turning to the small screen in early 2020, Blanchett served as an executive producer and supporting player in the Australian drama Stateless, about some of the unfortunate characters caught in the complexities of the country’s border control system.
Around that time she also assumed the role of staunch anti-feminist Phyllis Schlafly in the Hulu series Mrs. America.
Among her upcoming projects, Blanchett is slated to play legendary comedian Lucille Ball in Lucy and Desi, an authorized biopic written by Aaron Sorkin and acquired by Amazon Studios.

Controversies
1. Harrelson has been arrested several times: for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest in 1982, for symbolically planting hemp seeds (which the sheriff considered “cultivating marijuana”) in 1996, and for damaging a taxi and running from police in 2002. He served no jail time for any of these arrests. 2. In 2008, a TMZ photographer filed a $2.5 million lawsuit against Woody, alleging that the actor had assaulted him and broken his camera; the case was dismissed after they reached a settlement in 2010.
Woody Harrelson was born on July 23, 1961, to Diane Lou and Charles Voyde Harrelson in Midland, Texas. He has two siblings, brothers Jordan and Brett. When young Harrelson was just seven years old, his father was convicted with a life sentence for the murder of Federal Judge John H. Wood, Jr. As such, he was mostly raised by his mother for much of his life at Lebanon, Ohio, his mother’s native city.
He completed his formal education from Lebanon High School. In addition to studying, he apprenticed as a woodcarver at Kings Island Amusement Park. After completing his high school graduation, he moved to Hanover to enroll himself at Hanover College. It was there that he became a part of the Sigma Chi fraternity. In 1983, he completed his B.A. in theatre and English.
Harrelson was briefly married to Nancy Simon, the daughter of playwright Neil Simon, in 1985 during a trip to Tijuana, Mexico. They planned to annul the marriage but divorced instead in 1986. In December 2008, Harrelson married longtime girlfriend and former assistant Laura Louie in a private ceremony in Costa Rica.
Louie co-owned their health-food restaurant and oxygen bar, 02, which was located in Los Angeles. The couple resides in Maui, Hawaii, in a self-sustained community with their three daughters, Deni Montana, Zoe Giordano, and Makani Ravello.
In enhancement to acting, Harrelson has been a forthright advocate for the environment. His involvement includes efforts for preserving the California Redwoods, involvement in the American Oceans’ Campaign, and legalization intentions for the use of industrial hemp.
Harrelson challenged the constitutionality of the Kentucky state law that does not discriminate between industrial hemp and marijuana by planting several hemp seeds. He won the case and became an advisor for NORML, the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws. Harrelson has also served with other organizations such as UNICEF and PETA and is a longtime vegan.
Immediately after finishing his studies, he briefly worked in the New York theatre. In 1985, he made his professional debut with the role of a bartender, Woody Boyd, in the already popular NBC sitcom, ‘Cheers’, which was on its fourth season.
What started off as a mere replacement of the character of Coach played by Nicholas Colasanto in ‘Cheers’, lasted for four seasons until 1989! What’s more, he even earned himself five Emmy Awards nominations, eventually winning one. His performance in the series brought him much popularity and fame.
While his television career was on-going, he did not forego stage career completely and was seen in a couple of plays including, ‘Brooklyn Laundry’, ‘Furthest From the Sun’, and so on.
He made a foray into the big screen while working on ‘Cheers’ with the 1986 released film, ‘Wildcats’, a football comedy in which he made a cameo appearance. Following this, he was seen in the movies, ‘White Men Can’t Jump’, ‘Money Train’, ‘LA Story’, and so on.
His film career took off to a great start with the film, ‘Indecent Proposal’ where he was cast opposite Robert Redford and Demi Moore. The film was a grand success and grossed a total of over $265,000,000 at the box office.
Immediately after the success of the film, ‘Indecent Proposal’, he was seen playing a lead role in Oliver Stone’s controversial flick ‘Natural Born Killers’ opposite Juliette Lewis. He followed this up with the Michael Cimino film ‘The Sunchaser’ and comedy ‘Kingpin’.
His film career actually zoomed up after the Miloš Forman film ‘The People vs. Larry Flynt’, wherein he was seen playing the character of Larry Flynt. The film was hugely successful with his performance earning much acclaim. He even gained nominations in the Best Actor category from prestigious award functions.
His career had no looking back after the release of ‘The People vs. Larry Flynt’. He bagged himself a couple of lead roles in serious films, beginning with the 1997 war film ‘Welcome to Sarajevo’ and ‘Wag the Dog’ in which he had a featured role.
In 1998, he was seen in the thriller movie Palmetto. He followed this up with the war film, ‘The Thin Red Line’ in which he played the role of Sergeant Keck. The film was exceptionally brilliant and was a box office success.
In the next couple of years, he starred in two other films such as ‘The Hi-Low Country’ and ‘Play It to the Bone’. In 1999, he reprised his role as Woody Boyd in the Cheers spin-off success Frasier.
He took a hiatus from films for some time. During this time, he was seen making cameo appearances in television series such as ‘Will & Grace’, ‘The Colbert Report’, and so on. Jay-Z Childhood, Family, And Education
Jay-Z a.k.a. Shawn Corey Carter was born in the Brooklyn borough of New York City. Marcy Houses, a housing project in Brooklyn’s Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood, is where he was raised. In the aftermath of the abandonment of their father, Adnis Reeves, Jay-Z, and his three siblings were raised by their mother, Gloria Carter.
In 2003, Reeves met Jay-Z and reconciled with him shortly before passing away. Jay-Z claims in his lyrics that in 1982, at the age of 12, he shot his older brother in the shoulder for stealing his jewelry. In addition to rapper AZ, he attended Eli Whitney High School in Brooklyn until it was closed.
A stint at Trenton Central High School in Trenton, New Jersey, where he did not graduate, followed by a stint at nearby George Westinghouse Career and Technical Education High School with rappers The Notorious B.I.G. and Busta Rhymes, followed by a stint at Trenton Westinghouse Career and Technical Education High School. During this period, he sold crack cocaine and was shot three times, according to his interviews and lyrics.
Jay-Z used to bang out drum patterns on the kitchen table to wake up his siblings at night, according to his mother. His interest in music was sparked when she gave him a boombox for his birthday, and he began freestyling and writing lyrics.
Initially known as “Jazzy” in his neighborhood, he adopted the stage name “Jay-Z” in homage to his mentor Jaz-O. There is a brief appearance by Jay-Z on several early Jaz-O recordings in the late 1980s and early 1990s, including “H.P. Gets Busy”, “The Originators”, and “Hawaiian Sophie”.
During the early 1990s, Jay-Z engaged in several battles with rapper LL Cool J. On the 1994 Big Daddy Kane album Daddy’s Home, he became known to a wide audience with the posse cut “Show and Prove”. During this time, Jay-Z has been referred to as Big Daddy Kane’s hype man, although Kane explained that Jay-Z did not play the traditional role, but rather made cameo appearances.
In 1995, Jay-Z appeared in a popular song by Big L, “Da Graveyard”, and Mic Geronimo’s “Time to Build”, which included early appearances by DMX and Ja Rule. When I left the stage to change outfits, I brought out Positive K and Jay-Z and let them freestyle until I returned to the stage.
His first official rap single was “In My Lifetime,” for which a music video was released in 1995. There was also an unreleased music video produced for the B-side “I Can’t Get With That.”
The song “03 Bonnie & Clyde” was written by Jay-Z and Beyoncé in 2002. He also appeared on Beyoncé’s hit singles “Crazy in Love” and “That’s How You Like It” from her debut album Dangerously in Love. She appeared on the singles “Déjà Vu” and “Upgrade U” from her second album, B’Day.
She humorously imitates his appearance in the video for the latter song. During their dating relationship, they kept a low profile and were married on April 4, 2008. On April 22, 2008, their relationship became public knowledge, however, Beyoncé did not reveal her $5 million Lorraine Schwartz-designed wedding ring until the Fashion Rocks concert on September 5, 2008.
Their home is located in the Bel Air neighborhood of Los Angeles and costs $88 million. Generally, they do not discuss their relationship, and Beyoncé believes that this has contributed to their success, while Jay-Z stated in a People article that they do not “play with their relationship.”
As part of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people of 2006, Beyoncé and Jay-Z were cited as the most powerful couple. Forbes ranked them as Hollywood’s top-earning couple in January 2009 with a combined income of $162 million. Their combined total of $122 million between June 2008 and June 2009 placed them at the top of the list the following year.
During the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, Beyoncé announced that she was pregnant with their first child. The couple’s daughter, Blue Ivy, was born at New York’s Lenox Hill Hospital on January 7, 2012. On January 9, 2012, Jay-Z released a song dedicated to their child called “Glory”.
The song details the couple’s pregnancy struggles, including Beyoncé’s miscarriage. As Blue’s cries appear at the end of “Glory”, she becomes the youngest person ever (at two days old) to appear on the Billboard chart when the song debuts at number 74 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.
In June 2017, Beyoncé’s father Mathew Knowles announced that she and Jay-Z had welcomed twins: a daughter named Rumi and a son named Sir.

In an interview, he stated, “I consider my brands to be an extension of myself. They are close to me. It is not like running General Motors, where there are no emotional attachments.”
Jay-Z’s Clothing Brand Rocawear
A 2003 Reebok collection featured Jay-Z advertising the S. Carter Collection. Jay-Z and Damon Dash founded the urban clothing brand Rocawear. There are clothing lines and accessories available at Rocawear for men, women, and children. After a disagreement with Dash, Jay-Z took over the line in early 2006.
Iconix Brand Group acquired the rights to the Rocawear brand from Jay-Z in March 2007 for $204 million. In addition to maintaining his stake in the company, he continues to oversee marketing, licensing, and product development.
Jay-Z’s Alcohol Beverages Brand Armand de Brignac
As part of his financial investment portfolio, Jay-Z invested $200 million in Armand de Brignac champagne in 2014, which at the time was owned by Sovereign Brands, a New York-based wine and spirits company.
As the gold bottles are often referred to in the media, the brand is popular with high-profile artists. Before he purchased the entire company, he had been associated with Armand de Brignac since 2006, and he received millions of dollars per year for his association with the company.
In his role as co-brand director for Budweiser Select, Jay-Z collaborates with the company to develop marketing strategies and creative advertising campaigns. His responsibilities include providing direction for brand programs and advertisements that appear on TV, radio, print, and at major events.
Jay-Z’s Investments In Technological Brands
Jay-Z purchased Aspiro, a Norwegian media technology company, in March 2015 for $56 million, which operates the subscription-based music streaming service Tidal, which was launched in October 2014.
His company Project Panther Bidco Ltd. purchased the service (which is indirectly owned by Jay-Z’s S. Carter Enterprises, a company that holds interests in leading international music, media, and entertainment companies).
It combines audio and music videos with curated editorial content. This service aims to bring major revenue streams back to music artists themselves. Jay-Z is a major shareholder in the company. The idea of an artist-owned streaming platform was formulated in order to “restore the value of music by launching an artist-owned service.”
Carter invested significantly in JetSmarter in July 2015, an app that facilitates the booking of private executive plane flights. Sergey Petrossov developed the application.
Jay-Z’s Investments In Music Industry
Jay-Z served as president of Def Jam Recordings from 2005 to 2008. As a result of Jay-Z’s leadership, Def Jam launched the careers of contemporary R&B singers Rihanna and Ne-Yo. Following the release of American Gangster in 2007, Jay-Z decided not to renew his contract as president and CEO of Def Jam in order to begin Roc Nation, the new Live Nation venture.
According to reports, Jay-Z purchased Block Starz Music from Universal Music and Jive Records in April 2011.
Jay-Z’s Investments In Sports Industry
Jay-Z was a part-owner of the Brooklyn Nets NBA team from 2003 to 2013; he paid approximately $1 million for his share, which had declined in value to $350,000 by April 2013, according to Forbes magazine’s valuation of the team.
After the team relocated to Brooklyn’s Barclays Center (from New Jersey) in the 2012–2013 season, the Brooklyn Nets became known as the Brooklyn Nets.
In a press release published on the Life + Times website on April 18, 2013, Jay-Z announced that he would be relinquishing his ownership interest in the Brooklyn Nets. Eventually, the shares were sold to singer, rapper, actor, and entrepreneur Will Pan, making him the first American of Taiwanese descent to own a professional sports franchise in the United States.
In his bid, Jay-Z cited Pan’s athletic background (he played college basketball and was a high school team captain), his varied musical styles, his influence within the Taiwanese American community, and his business acumen and portfolio (including founding and leading Camigo Media and being a co-founder of N.P.C, streetwear boutique), among other reasons.
His stake in Barclays Center was sold for $1.5 million in September 2013.
Media reported on April 2, 2013, that Jay-Z plans to launch his own sports agency, Roc Nation Sports, focused on representing professional athletes. The sports management group is a partnership between Creative Artists Agency and the Sport Management Group.
With the launch of the agency, New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Canó left Scott Boras to join the agency. According to the media, Jay-Z plans to become a certified sports agent, first in baseball and then in basketball and football. He would have to give up some of his ownership interest in the Brooklyn Nets in order to represent clients in basketball.
The English media reported in October 2005 that he was considering purchasing a stake in Arsenal F.C., an English soccer team. In January 2010, he was awarded a contract to operate a 4,500-slot machine racino at the Aqueduct Race Track through his conglomerate company Gain Global Investments Network LLC, which held a stake between 2 and 7% in Aqueduct Entertainment Group (AEG).
Jay-Z became interested in the project after New York Governor David Paterson, who awarded the contract, stated the owner of the project must reflect affirmative action. The contract was initially offered to Jay-Z by casino mogul Steve Wynn, who was also bidding.
Jay-Z and Flake withdrew from the project on March 9, 2010, and Paterson resigned.
Jay-Z’s Investments In Media
Jay-Z launched the popular culture and lifestyle online magazine Life + Times on April 5, 2011. He showcases his high-end tastes in clothing, appliances, and automobiles on the site.
With sports and music-related posts accompanying those concerning fashion and design, the site design is aesthetically geared towards the upwardly mobile young male demographic. The Decoded series is based on Jay-Z’s memoir of the same name and features a select group of rappers decoding their own lyrics.
When Funkmaster Flex was contacted by the webzine in January 2015, he revealed that he had been contacted in 2013 for a story about the digital app he had created at the time, but that the information was allegedly used to assist with the launch of Jay-Z’s Magna Carta Samsung application following the release of the album. In response to Vibe, Flex stated, “But I was good with that. I ate that. Everyone is out here hustling.”.
His two-year exclusive film and television deal with the Weinstein Company gave them first-look options to develop scripted and unscripted TV and film projects, and those projects were in production.
As part of his contract with the Weinstein company, he produced a documentary series about Kalief Browder, who was imprisoned for three years and committed suicide once released. A conscious effort was made to address racial profiling and police brutality.
In addition to owning the 40/40 Club in New York City, Jay-Z also owns clubs in Atlantic City and Chicago. During 2008, Las Vegas’ 40/40 Club was closed and repurchased by the hotel following a steady decline in attendance.
Jay-Z became an investor in Carol’s Daughter in 2005, a company that offers beauty products for hair, skin, and hands.
His business partners, Juan, and Desiree Perez joined him in a deal with Delaware North to expand the 40/40 Club sports bar chain into as many as 20 airports. Earlier this year, Jay-Z published a memoir titled Decoded, which was published on November 16, 2010.
As a result of the failure of Jay-Z’s cologne, Gold, Parlux fragrances sued him for $18 million. As a result of Jay-Z’s lack of social media posts and interviews regarding the cologne, they claim that the cologne has failed.
In the first year after launch, Parlux anticipates selling $15 million, and $35 million in the second and subsequent years. The fragrance sold $14 million in its first year and $6.1 million in its second year. In addition to losing money on the venture, Parlux has had to return unsold inventory on a regular basis.
Cohiba collaborated with Jay-Z to launch his own cigar line.
Jay-Z’s Roc Nation will partner with Long Island University to establish the Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment in August 2020.
Jay-Z was announced in November 2020 as the Chief Visionary Officer of TPCO Holding Corp., a newly formed cannabis products company.
Beginning Of Jay-Z’s Music Career With “Reasonable Doubt”
In 1995, Jay-Z, without a record deal from a major label, sold CDs out of his car and founded Roc-A-Fella Records as an independent label with Damon “Dame” Dash and Kareem “Biggs” Burke.
In 1996, Jay-Z released Reasonable Doubt, which featured beats from DJ Premier and Super DJ Clark Kent, plus an appearance by The Notorious B.I.G.
Critics generally favored the album, which reached number 23 on the Billboard 200.
Eventually, the album reached platinum status and was included in Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
“In My Lifetime”, “Vol. 1”
A new distribution deal with Def Jam enabled Jay-Z to release In My Lifetime, Vol. 1. ‘Puff Daddy’ produced it, which sold more than his previous effort.
Later, Jay-Z explained that the album was made when he was grieving over the death of The Notorious B.I.G.
It was a personal revelation for Jay-Z as he told stories of his difficult childhood. Compared to his first release, the album’s glossy production stood out, and some fans felt he had “sold out.”
Some beats were produced by DJ Premier and Ski, who worked with him on Reasonable Doubt.
The sequel to In My Lifetime, Vol. 1 earned platinum status in the United States.
‘Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem)’ was Jay-Z’s biggest hit at the time from Vol 2 Hard Knock Life.
It was more about flow and wordplay, and he continued to mine beats from popular producers such as Swizz Beatz, an upstart in-house producer for Ruff Ryders, and Timbaland.
Vol. Over five million copies of Jay-Z’s 2 have been sold to date; it was certified 5 times Platinum in the United States.
DMX failed to receive a Grammy nomination, and Jay-Z boycotted the ceremony in protest.
The song “Heartbreaker” is from Mariah Carey’s seventh album, Rainbow, released in 1999. In the US, the song spent two weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The same year, Jay-Z released Vol. 3 Life and Times of S. Carter.
Sales of over 3 million copies proved successful. Vol. 3’s most successful single was “Big Pimpin”, featuring UGK.
Def Jam turned Jay-Z’s 2000 album The Dynasty: Roc La Familia into a compilation of Roc-A-Fella artists.
In addition to The Neptunes, Kanye West, Just Blaze, and Bink, the album helped introduce newcomer producers.
As well as being more soulful than Jay-Z’s previous albums, this album also uses rap.
Over two million Dynasty units were sold in the U.S.
“Takeover”
According to Jay-Z, Prodigy took issue with a line in Jay-Z’s “Money, Cash, Hoes” that alluded disparagingly to the dispute between Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg, and Death Row Records and Mobb Deep.
During Summer Jam 2001, he performed “Takeover”, which initially attacked Prodigy and revealed images of him dressed as Michael Jackson.
On “We Will Survive”, Nas criticized him at the end of “Takeover”.
A feud would start between Nas and Jay-Z when Nas responded with a diss track called “Ether” and Jay-Z straightaway added a verse to “Takeover” dissing Nas.
They had settled their feud by 2005, and Jay-Z credited Mark Pitts.
“The Blueprint”
He released his sixth studio album, The Blueprint, hours before the September 11 attacks, which received a five-mic review from hip-hop magazine The Source.
With a sale of 427,000 copies, this album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and went Platinum in the U.S.
Kanye West produced four tracks on the album, which was one of his first major hits.
There are four popular songs on the Blueprint: Izzo (H.O.V.A. ), Girls, Girls, Girls, Jigga That Nigga, and Song Cry.
Although 9/11 had overshadowed its initial success, the album sold 2.7 million copies worldwide as of February 2012.
According to the Library of Congress, The Blueprint is culturally, historically, and aesthetically significant and should be preserved in the National Recording Registry.
Jay-Z pleaded guilty to stabbing record producer Lance Rivera in 1999 at the Kit Kat Klub in New York City. Jay-Z was sentenced to three years probation for this second-degree felony.
His next solo album was 2002’s The Blueprint2: The Gift & The Curse. Over 3 million units were sold in the U.S. alone, surpassing The Blueprint on the Billboard 200.
In a single-disc version, The Blueprint 2.1, half the tracks were retained.
Jay-Z’s then-girlfriend Beyoncé Knowles features on two hit singles from the album, “Excuse Me Miss” and “’03 Bonnie & Clyde”. As well as “Guns & Roses”, “Hovi Baby” was a successful radio single.
Among the album’s tracks were “A Dream”, featuring Faith Evans and The Notorious B.I.G., and “The Bounce”, featuring Kanye West.
In The Blueprint 2.1, Panjabi MC produced and featured tracks such as “Stop”, “La La La (Excuse Me Again)”, “What They Gonna Do, Part II” and “Beware”.
“The Black Album”
During the opening of the 40/40 Club, Jay-Z announced work on The Black Album, his eighth studio album.
Producers he worked with include Just Blaze, The Neptunes, Kanye West, Timbaland, Eminem, DJ Quik, 9th Wonder, The Buchanans, and Rick Rubin. Among the songs were “What More Can I Say”, “Dirt Off Your Shoulder”, and “Change Clothes”.
More than 3 million copies of The Black Album have been sold. He collaborated with R. Kelly and released the Best of Both Worlds album.
As a retirement party, Jay-Z held a concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 25, 2003, which became the subject of his film Fade to Black. Funds went to charity.
A number of collaborators performed, such as the Roots (his backing band), Missy Elliott, Memphis Bleek, Beanie Siegel, Freeway, Mary J. Blige, Twista, Ghostface Killah, Foxy Brown, Pharrell Williams, and R. Kelly. Voletta Wallace and Afeni Shakur, the mothers of The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur, both performed.
Despite Jay-Z’s retirement from making new studio albums, he continued to work on side projects.
A greatest hits record was released, as well as Unfinished Business, Jay-Z’s second collaboration with R. Kelly.
Linkin Park collaborated with Jay-Z in 2004, releasing a remix EP and concert DVD called Collision Course.
Paul McCartney added verses from the song “Yesterday” to the album’s only single, “Numb/Encore,” which won a Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.
Over 1 million copies were sold in the U.S. Fort Minor, the hip-hop side project of Linkin Park rapper Mike Shinoda was produced by Jay-Z. In 2004, Jay-Z also planned to retire.
Jay-Z, Dash, and Biggs sold their remaining interests in Roc-A-Fella Records in 2004 and Jay-Z took control of both companies.
According to reports, Jay-Z and Dash disagreed about the direction Roc-A-Fella should take.
Former partners Jay-Z, Dash, and Biggs hit each other in interviews after their split was publicized.
2005–2007: “Kingdom Come” And “American Gangster”
Jay-Z headlined Power 105.1’s annual concert, Powerhouse, on October 27, 2005. Jay-Z’s “I Declare War” concert sparked intense speculation in the weeks preceding the concert on who exactly he would declare war on.
The Powerhouse show was perceived as an all-out assault by Jay-Z on his rivals since he had previously declared war on them at other events.
With an Oval Office mock-up on stage, the concert focused on Jay-Z’s position as CEO of Def Jam.

FAQs
Who is a better dancer, Hrithik Roshan or Tiger Shroff?
Hrithik Roshan is the more graceful mover overall. He has shown a little more variety and diversity in the dance styles he can adopt. But as a live performer Tiger is better, on Film I’d take Hrithik. Tiger is lacking in grace, he is a cut above your average bodybuilding Bollywood dancing boys. He’s really quick and clean, but he isn’t long-limbed like a professional dancer ought to be (like Hrithik). Tiger does really well with the choreography that’s given to him.
Why do all Tiger Shroff films flop?
A film getting flop and you are not liking that film is two different things. Just because few people gave negative reviews for a particular film does not make it a flop. Every film requires to earn a margin of the amount over the budget of that film to get the tag of Hit, Super-Hit, Blockbuster. For example, Tiger’s film Heropanti made on a budget of 25 Crores it earned over 79 crores and was declared a super hit.
Is Tiger shroff dating Disha Patani?
In the Koffee With Karan show, Karan questioned Tiger about his frequent lunch dates with Disha and how he is snapped carrying the bag for his alleged ladylove, to which the actor replied saying “Holding the bag for her makes me look really nice.” Isn’t he the perfect gentleman? He further added, “I am great friends with her. I love her company and we are keeping it at that.” When Karan pushed further, he clarified, “We both have very similar interests. I don’t have very many friends in the industry and she is one of the few people whom I get along with.” Well, looks like Tiger has thoroughly done his research and knew how to answer Karan’s questions without making any big revelation about his life.
Why is Tiger Shroff so creepy?
Maybe he is too humble and shy and all you see Bollywood as a masala so you find him creepy. It’s too early to compare him to legends and would be too immature to compare with actors who get into the industry using the name of their parents. Tiger din enters the industry like that, he earned a role with his hard work and passion.
Is Tiger Shroff the fittest among Bollywood heroes?
He is by far one of the fittest actors in Bollywood and yes he is an inspiration to many across India. Even Karan Johar had mentioned about the discipline Tiger has when it comes to his eating habits.

Soulja Boy would later sign with Interscope Records, which is home to Eminem, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, and a slew of other famous names.
Souljaboytellem.com, his debut album with the label, was released on October 2nd, 2007. On the Billboard top 100, the album reached number four. Despite the album’s success, many people predicted Soulja Boy would be a one-hit wonder.

Life Journey
Known as “Little Leader,” Woodgram tells the full story of a football genius.
Here you will find a complete account of Lucas Torreira’s childhood along with his untold biography facts.
He is analyzed in terms of his family history, his life before fame, his rise to fame story, his relationship, and details about his personal life.
There is no doubt that everyone knows about his smallish appearance and powerful zeal. Only a few people consider Lucas Torreira’s biography, which is quite interesting. Let’s begin now without further ado.
Family Background And Early Life
As a start to his biography, he goes by Lucas Sebastián Torreira Di Pascua. In Fray Bentos, Uruguay, Lucas Torreira was born on the 11th of February 1996 to Viviana Di Pascua and Ricardo Torreira.
Lucas Torreira With His Family
In Lucas’s middle-class family, happiness and contentment were not held hostage by their middle-class background. Lucas grew up with his parents, sisters Ana and Pitu Torreira, and two brothers named Brahian and Bebo Torreira, as well as his grandparents.
During a summer evening in Fray Bentos, you can cycle along tranquil beaches, especially at sunset. He has always enjoyed watching the yellow fading sunset alone with his mum, who is a housekeeper since he was a child.
Lucas Torreira With His Father And Sister Ana
Lucas has a good relationship with his dad as well. He enjoys spending time with his dad in the sleepy, charming riverside area of Fray Bentos, where his dad is a rich butcher. A recent example of this is the Torreira family’s production and export of corn beef in 2017, which has made them well known in the Fray Bentos meat business.
Lucas bought one of the largest butcher shops for his family. As a tribute to his Italian club, Sampdoria, he called it ‘La 34.’
Corned beef is supplied by Fray Bentos throughout the world. In addition, both British and American troops were fed Fray Bentos meat during World War I and II.
Starting Out On A Rocky Path
Lucas was the most eccentric and energetic brother among his brothers and excelled in sports primarily. It was early on that he became attached to playing football, which he believed would uplift him and his family.
To begin his professional journey, Lucas enrolled in his local team, on July 18, which gave him an opportunity to show off his skills. Lucas had the desire to play for a bigger club in Montevideo, Uruguay’s capital, just like many young footballers in Fray Bentos.
To demonstrate his obsession, he applied for several trials and was invited to Montevideo, Uruguay’s capital.
The Rocky Journey
Lucas’ first visit to Uruguay’s capital city didn’t go exactly as he had hoped. When Lucas was back in Fray Bentos, frightening words came through that he was in trouble.
Despite still being a nine-year-old, a brave nine-year-old traveled to Montevideo for trials with Penarol’s youth team in search of a professional contract. For Lucas;
The club, the city, and the opportunity were all big.
It was a long way from Little Lucas’ home to Montevideo and a long way from help when he reached Montevideo. Before and after his trials, he was supposed to stay in the capital.
It was unfortunate for Lucas to hear that he would no longer be able to live in his accommodation. His miserable 200-mile journey home was cut short by his lack of money at that point.
An Inspiring Rise To Fame
Lucas was still considered second fiddle to other Uruguayan senior players before Uruguay’s second World Cup match. In Uruguay’s matches against Egypt and Saudi Arabia, he did not even start.
Against Russia, Portugal, and France, Lucas, however, was in the starting eleven. After Lucas started proving himself at the tournament, all Uruguayan fans at home and abroad began to support him for every hustle and tussle he made especially against much bigger and stronger opponents.
The world cup tournament provided Lucas with the much-needed fame he deserved. During the tournament, he floored Cristiano Ronaldo in his match against Portugal. Despite reaching the quarterfinals, his Uruguayan team was unable to advance.
Lucas Torreira is regarded as someone who values his humble beginnings more than anything else in life. Baller Torreira remembers the days when the Torreira family owned only a Vespa motorcycle. Lucas is regarded today as a progressive, original, and independent individual.
It is important for him to keep in touch with family and close friends, including teammates Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal. Lucas dislikes situations that are lonely, dull, or boring. Taking boat rides with Repetto or friends/family is something Lucas never hesitates to do.

Furthermore, Torreira was named Arsenal’s Man of the Match for the fifth consecutive time.

It was Torreira’s first red card for Arsenal; although Arsenal appealed the ban, the FA rejected their appeal, so the ban would still result in a three-match suspension for Torreira.

He was named to Uruguay’s final 23-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia in June 2018.
Torreira played in all five Uruguay games during the tournament, which served as a breakthrough for him.
Lucas Torreira Style Of Play
The Independent’s Jack Austin stated when Torreira signed for Arsenal in 2018 “Torreira is precisely the kind of no-nonsense midfielder the club has been searching for”, adding that during the 2018 World Cup, “he did his job as a deep-lying pivot in the middle of the park with no fuss or lack of discipline of a player who has established himself in Serie A,” despite his shortcomings, including his lack of height in aerial duels and inability to score goals.
Torreira often gets fouled and likes to shoot from a distance, according to sources. They also note that he makes tackles and plays short passes. The manager of Atlético Madrid, Diego Simeone, applauded Torreira’s work rate and speed on the pitch.
After reading his biography, you will agree with me that Lucas Torreira worked so hard to achieve success. Even poor kids from the slum can dream big and achieve their dreams thanks to him.
It is important to note that his father and mother were key catalysts in his success story. His career life would not be the same without their contributions. They deserve all the accolades for what they have done.
In addition, his sibling’s and friends’ efforts should not be overlooked. As a result of them, he never experienced loneliness or depression during his childhood. Lucas Torreira has grown into a cheerful youth as a result of them.

Barbara Ann Mandrell was born on Christmas Day 1948 to Mary Ellen and Irby Matthew Mandrell in Houston, Texas. Her mother was a homemaker and musician hailing from rural Wayne County, Illinois. Her father Irby was a World War II naval veteran and Texas police officer from Garland County, Arkansas. Irby Mandrell was an accomplished musician and entrepreneur as well. He used his impeccable social skills and knowledge of the music industry to manage all three of his daughters’ careers for over 3 decades. Mandrell was an only child until July 13, 1954, when her sister Thelma Louise Mandrell was born. Baby sister Ellen Irlene Mandrell arrived 18 months after Louise on January 29, 1956.
The eldest daughter of the musical family, Barbara Mandrell was already reading music and playing accordion when her sisters were infants. Six years later, she had become so adept at playing steel guitar that her father took her to a music trade convention in Chicago. While there, her talents caught the attention of RCA Records producer and session musician Chet Atkins and popular musician and bandleader Joe Maphis. Soon after, she became a featured performer in Maphis’ Las Vegas nightclub show, followed by tours with Red Foley, Tex Ritter, and Johnny Cash. Her network TV debut came on the NBC-TV series Five Star Jubilee in 1961.
Irlene Mandrell With Barbara
While growing up, Mandrell learned to play the pedal steel and lap steel guitars and many other instruments, including the accordion, saxophone, and banjo. She played steel guitar for Patsy Cline, who once wrote to a friend that Mandrell was, “a 13-year-old blonde doll who plays the steel guitar out of this world! What a show woman!” Mandrell toured at age 13 with Cline, Johnny Cash, and George Jones.
She also played guitar for Joe Maphis in Las Vegas and on the Town Hall Party show in Los Angeles. A few years later, Mandrell and her sisters Louise and Irlene, as well as her parents, founded the Mandrell Family Band. They toured across the United States and Asia. Their drummer, Ken Dudney, became Mandrell’s husband shortly after she graduated from Oceanside High School.

They inducted her into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2009, and she became a member of the Grand Ole Opry.
There is no denying that all of the Mandrell sisters have been successful in their own rights, even from an early age. However, Barbara is clearly the most successful and most popular out of all of them. Not only has she had the most hit albums, but her net worth stands at a staggering $60 million. This is over four times bigger than Louise and Irlene’s combined net worth of $10 million. When you think of Mandrell’s, the first person you think of is Barbara.

Barbara Mandrell Now/Today
Walking away from show business after achieving stardom isn’t always easy, but that’s what country singer Barbara Mandrell did. After having a string of smash hit songs during the peak of her career, Mandrell decided to step away in the mid-1990s. Mandrell had already left her mark on the country music and acting world at that point, though, showing that she was one of the many multi-talented entertainers around that achieved legend status in her field.
Still, Mandrell had a great run as a country music singer before deciding to hang it up in 1997. She received an entry into the Country Music Hall of Fame and has also been inducted into the Walk of Fame in Nashville, Tennessee, the home of country music. While it might have been hard walking away from music for many singers, Mandrell has been able to handle walking away from the spotlight quite well.
“I was worried about (retiring),” she said at first. “I was worried because I had always heard, ‘That’s all you have ever known. You will never be able to give up, most of all, the audience and the applause.’ I treasure what I was given, the moments with the most wonderful people that gave me the opportunity in life to be able to retire from my music. But I think, without a doubt. We prayed and prayed and prayed, I kept wondering when, and when the time came, it was immediate. It came so fast. And God, he doesn’t steer us wrong.”
Many have tried to pull Mandrell out of retirement, including some big names in country music. However, Mandrell has stated that she’s indeed retired from music. “Except for my steel guitar that’s in the Hall of Fame and my dobro that my parents gave me and hand-engraved, I sold everything else after I retired,” Mandrell stated. “I jokingly said, ‘I just don’t want the temptation!’ The only place I sing is on the pew with everybody else in the church.”

Barbara Mandrell And The Mandrell Sisters
The reality is that after being such a big name in the 80s, the Mandrell Sisters, like many other musical acts, simply fell off the radar. Eventually, Irby Mandrell, the sisters’ father, founded the Mandrell Family Band. It consisted of Barbara, Louise, Irlene, Irby, and mother Mary Ellen, as well as a drummer by the name of Ken Dudney.
Despite Barbara only being 14 at the time, 21-year-old Ken fell head over heels for her. However, her parents were completely against the idea and separated them before they got too serious. However, Barbara and Ken would eventually get back together when they got a little older.
Forbidden Love
Sister Louise felt like she was not true to herself during the early stages of her career. She was being told to market herself in a certain way. “I judged everything I did by what I thought Barbara and my family would like, not by my standards,” she said. “But unless you accept yourself and like yourself, you can’t expect other people to accept you – that’s something Barbara kept preaching to me.” But what happened next for Louise?
Faking It
Once the variety show came to an end, Louise made a whole new image for herself. In an attempt to have a successful solo career, Louise chose to be far less conservative with her look. The cover of his debut album Close Up was a fine example of this. Her husband, R.C. Bannon, was deeply surprised. “Miniskirts and tight leather pants are what I feel most comfortable in,” Louise said. “I’m one of those Christians the Romans would have thrown to the lions.”
Sharpshooter Irlene
Sister Irlene, on the other hand, was always very open about her beliefs and is an expressive individual. Although she is, like her sisters, a very talented singer and actress, she also loves to hunt. Throughout her life, Irlene has traveled far and wide looking for the biggest catch, and she is skilled with a variety of firearms. The “Irlene Mandrell Celebrity Shoot” is a charity event in service of Boy Scouts of America and Wish Upon a Star, Inc.
Multiple Proposals
As previously mentioned, Barbara and drummer Ken fell in love at a very young age, much to her parents’ dismay. Despite the fact that they separated them early on, they only had their eyes on each other throughout the years. As soon as he had the chance, Ken proposed to Barbara. However, she ended up turning him down. This is apparently because she wanted to graduate from high school beforehand. But Ken didn’t give up, and he kept on proposing.
Shrouded In Controversy
Ever since she started her solo career, Barbara Mandrell has always done things her way. This was clearer than ever when she released her breakthrough single, “The Midnight Oil.” Country music is renowned for having some of the most emotionally powerful lyrics behind the tunes, with many songs revolving around love and heartbreaks. Barbara’s single was the first time that a country song was written about a woman who had cheated on her man, rather than the other way round.
Unpopular Start
Before her success with the controversial “The Midnight Oil,” Barbara struggled to get off the ground with her first country songs. Her first music experience with her first record label, Columbia Records, was unsuccessful, to say the very least. Her first producer, Billy Sherrill released the book How Nashville Became a Music City. In the book, Sherill claimed that Columbia Records interrogated him as to why he had so much faith in Mandrell, who wasn’t selling records at first.
Three Times A Bride
Although the sisters have a lot in common, there is one key detail that separates Irlene from the rest of the Mandrell’s. The idea of a long-lasting marriage isn’t part of Irlene’s vocabulary. She has been married three times, having first tied the knot with Rick Boyer from 1978-1992, who she had two kids with. Then, in 1994, she married Rob Pincus, who she had another child with. However, that only lasted for ten years. Since 2015, she has been married to Patrick Holt.
Barbara’s Menagerie
Barbara has always been an animal lover, and though she owns a number of houses, she had one in particular that she referred to in the French, ‘Maison d’Animaux’ or ‘Animal House’ in English. At the time, she was living with a large number of pets, which included two dogs and four cats, as well as a cockatoo. Beyond her pets, she also encouraged wild animals to visit her garden, encouraging birds to visit, in addition to local squirrels, chipmunks, and even turtles.

After Villa’s 4–0 loss to Everton, he chose to stay in North West England and go clubbing.
