Not singing the Swiss National Anthem against Albania
Xherdan Shaqiri was born on October 10, 1991. He is a Swiss professional footballer who currently plays as a winger for the Major League Soccer club Chicago Fire and the Swiss national team.
Shaqiri was born to Kosovar Albanian parents in Gjilan, SFR Yugoslavia. He moved to Switzerland with his parents and three siblings in 1992. Arianit Shaqiri, his brother, is a young football coach. They settled in Augst, a little town near the French and German borders in the canton of Basel-Country.
Because his father did not know Swiss German, he had to start off washing dishes in a restaurant before working in road construction. His mother worked as a cleaner in city office buildings, which he and his brothers assisted with.
His father would send as much money as he could back to Kosovo to other family members, which meant that Xherdan and his family had no additional spending money save for birthdays. He idolised Brazilian striker Ronaldo, whom he said played “like magic”.
Xherdan Shaqiri began his career with FC Basel, where he won three Swiss Super League titles before going on to Bayern Munich, where he won nine domestic and continental trophies despite playing less regularly.
In his debut season, he was a member of the UEFA Champions League-winning side. In 2019, he also won the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup, as well as the Premier League championship in 2020, Liverpool’s first in 30 years.
Xherdan Shaqiri has been a full international since 2010, and he has almost 100 caps and 26 goals for Switzerland, making him the country’s seventh-highest goalscorer. He represented his country in the FIFA World Cups of 2010, 2014, and 2018, as well as UEFA Euro 2016 and UEFA Euro 2020.

Shaqiri was picked to appear with Lionel Messi on the cover of the FIFA video game FIFA 15. Nike, a clothing and equipment provider, sponsors Shaqiri. He wears Nike Mercurial Vapor boots and has the flags of Switzerland and Kosovo stitched on each heel for the 2018 World Cup. Shaqiri was the most Googled player in 2018 in Switzerland.
Playing Style
Xherdan Shaqiri is predominantly a right winger, and according to FIFA’s official website, he is “unpredictable on the ball, skilled with both feet, clinical in front of goal, and possessing outstanding vision.” The Daily Telegraph characterised him as “stocky and muscular,” with a “wand of a left foot.” He’s been dubbed “the Alpine Messi” and “the Magic Dwarf.”
Shaqiri, who can also play as an attacking midfielder, was defined as such in a 2011 scouting report by Jamie Sanderson of The Independent: “Shaqiri is a diminutive, agile, and pacy player with superb technique and balance. He’s left-footed, but he’s equally at home and productive on either flank or as a traditional playmaker, with superb vision and practically no back lift in his passing and shooting.”
He also stated that Shaqiri’s “tricks,” “direct running style,” and “comfort” made him “a dangerous player in practically any attacking area.” While recognising the teenage winger’s outstanding skill and potential to become a top player, he also stated that he had a low work rate and needed maturity.

He appeared in 38 games for the team this season, finishing as the club’s leading scorers with 8 goals and 7 assists.
Liverpool
Liverpool signed Xherdan Shaqiri to a five-year contract on July 13, 2018, after activating his £13.5 million release clause. On 12 August, he made his debut as a late substitution in a 4–0 triumph over West Ham United in the club’s first match of the season.

UEFA Euro 2016
Xherdan Shaqiri scored three goals in Switzerland’s victorious UEFA Euro 2016 qualification campaign, all of which came against Lithuania. He scored a brace in a 4–0 victory against them in St. Gallen on November 15, 2014, and an 84th-minute winner in a 2–1 triumph the following June.
In the final tournament in France, he started all four of Switzerland’s matches as they advanced to the last 16. He equalised with a bicycle kick from the edge of the penalty box as they drew 1–1 with Poland in Saint-Étienne; he scored again in the penalty shootout, but the Poles triumphed.
Following Switzerland’s first game at Euro 2016, Shaqiri announced his support for Kosovo if their manager made him captain, in response to Switzerland manager Vladimir Petkovi’s decision to leave him out of that post.
Despite already being a Swiss international, FIFA regulations would allow Shaqiri to represent Kosovo, which had joined the federation earlier that year. However, because Xherdan Shaqiri continued to play for Switzerland after Kosovo became a FIFA member, Shaqiri’s eligibility for Kosovo was also ruled out.
2018 FIFA World Cup
Xherdan Shaqiri was named to Switzerland’s 23-man roster for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which is being hosted in Russia. He scored the game-winning goal as Switzerland rallied from behind to overcome Serbia 2–1. He and his teammate, Kosovar-born Granit Xhaka, celebrated their goals with an eagle gesture, a symbol of ethnic Albanians.
Switzerland captain Stephan Lichtsteiner, who is not of Albanian ancestry, made the identical motion to celebrate Shaqiri’s goal, and afterwards supported both players. Xhaka and Shaqiri were fined 10,000 Swiss francs by FIFA for “unsporting behaviour contrary to the rules of fair play,” while Lichtsteiner was fined 5,000 Swiss francs.

In addition, with the goal, he equaled Stéphane Chapuisat’s international goal tally of 21 and moved into Switzerland’s top 10 scorers of all time. Shaqiri represented Switzerland in the 2019 UEFA Nations League Finals in Portugal. Eventually, Shaqiri made it to the Tournament Team.
UEFA Euro 2020 and 2022 FIFA World Cup
Xherdan Shaqiri was nominated to Switzerland’s 26-man team for the postponed UEFA Euro 2020. In a group stage encounter against Turkey on 20 June 2021, he scored twice in the 26th and 68th minutes. He scored against Spain in the tournament’s quarterfinals in July 2021. The game ended 1–1 and went to a penalty shoot-out, which Spain won and advanced to the semi-finals.
When he began Switzerland’s final 2022 World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria on November 15, 2021, Shaqiri became only the sixth Swiss player to attain 100 caps.

The Swedish champions Malmö FF announced on 27 January 2015 that they had signed Yotún on a three-year contract. The 2015 season marked his first season in Malmo, where he played as a left-back.
As the third choice behind newly arrived Behrang Safari and Pa Konate in the 2016 season, Yotún played at various midfield positions, where he excelled. Yotún emerged as a key player during the first half of the 2017 campaign and was elected player of the month by Malmö FF supporters.

Life Journey
Peter James Crouch was born on January 30, 1981, in Macclesfield, Cheshire, England, into an upper-middle-class British household. Peter’s father worked in advertising, and when Peter was a year old, the family moved to Singapore for his father’s job. The family moved back to England after three years in Singapore, as his father rejected a job offer to work in Australia.
Peter grew up in Wembley, a locality filled with fans, and he too was bitten by the football bug. Peter’s thin and small frame, as well as his low self-confidence, kept him from playing for the most part, but due to his love for the game, he became a ball boy. He was a ball boy at Stamford Bridge and his parents thought he was extremely enthusiastic about the job.
He joined the school’s team during his middle school years and began playing the game. As a master of head goals, he began exploring professional training after making a name for himself at school. While waiting to sign a professional contract with Tottenham Hotspur, Peter participated in their youth program for some time and trained rigorously.
In 1998, Tottenham Hotspur offered him his first professional contract. Although he had signed for the club, he wasn’t included in the team right away. Instead, he was loaned out to smaller clubs so he could gain some experience. He was transferred to Queen Park Rangers, a first-division club, without ever playing a match for Tottenham.
Several nicknames have been given to him by his fans and teammates. Because of the way he celebrates after scoring a goal, he is often referred to as ‘Crouchy’ and ‘RoboCrouch. Abbey Clancey was in a long-term relationship with Peter. In July 2009, they became engaged, and in June 2011, they got married. The couple has three children together: two sons and a daughter.
In November 2011, Peter was fined for overspeeding, and in October 2012, his license was suspended for six months. Peter has written a book called Walking Tall- My Story.

Portsmouth paid S1.5 million for Crouch after QPR was relegated at the end of the 2000–01 season. Following a successful season at Fratton Park, he joined Aston Villa for $5 million in March 2002 after scoring 19 goals.
In 2003, he was loaned out to Norwich City before moving to Southampton where he regained his form and was signed by Liverpool in July 2005. Crouch enjoyed considerable success at Liverpool. On August 31, 2011, he signed for Stoke City for a club-record fee of $10 million.
Burnley striker Chris Wood is entering his twilight years as a footballer. The gorgeous grey Ferrari he owned when he was in his prime was one of his possessions. This is a manual transmission, it has only 28,000 miles on it, and it has clearly been very well taken care of. Presented in Grigio Titanio with Ferrari 18-inch alloy wheels, it includes Ferrari embossed seats and a leather subwoofer.
Peter learned to make the most of the opportunity and performed admirably in his first few matches for the ‘Queen Park Rangers.’ In the 2000-01 season, Peter scored ten league goals for the ‘Queen Park Rangers.’ Due to financial difficulties, ‘Queen Park Rangers’ loaned him to the ‘Portsmouth’ side in the 2001-02 season. He scored 18 goals in 37 games and was dubbed as a highly competitive player by Graham Rix, the manager of the team.
After a successful attempt to acquire Peter made by Ashton Villa in 2002, he was loaned out to smaller teams, before Ashton decided to transfer him to Southampton. During 2004-05, Peter scored 16 goals in 33 appearances for Southampton.
Eventually, the ‘Southampton’ club was relegated from the Premier League and Peter was sold to ‘Liverpool.’ He made his Liverpool debut in the 2005 season, but he didn’t score a single goal in the next few matches.
He scored his first goal against Wigan Athletic in December, and minutes later he scored another. Peter scored a goal to give ‘Liverpool’ their first victory over ‘Manchester United’ in more than 60 years during an ‘FA Cup’ match against the Manchester giants.
Liverpool’s ‘FA Cup’ victory in which they defeated ‘West Ham United’ saw Peter emerge as their star player. Furthermore, he helped his team win the ‘FA Community Shield’ final in 2006. Peter decided to move back to ‘Portsmouth’ in July 2008 due to injuries and ignorance by the team management. Peter scored 16 goals in 46 games in the 2008-09 season.
Peter was acquired by Tottenham Hotspur on a five-year contract in July 2009. Peter’s performance reached an all-time high for Spurs during the 2009-10 season, and he scored two hat-tricks for them.
He was signed by Stoke City on a four-year contract in August 2011, and he scored five goals in the first seven matches of the 2012-13 season. While his team was placed at the 13th position in the final standings, he finished the season with eight goals in total.
A few months into the 2013-14 season, Peter was not picked up on the playing eleven, but he returned in October, and scored ten goals in 38 matches, becoming the top scorer for his team. His contract was extended for two more years in January 2015.
In August 2016, he scored a hat-trick against Stevenage and a new contract was signed to keep him with the team until 2018. Early in 2017, Peter scored four goals in his first five matches, and by the end of the season, he had scored 10 goals in 29 matches.
Peter played football for a number of British youth teams. In 1999, he represented England at the ‘FIFA World Youth Championship.’ In 2002, he was part of the national Under-21 squad that reached the finals of the European Under-21 Championship.
During the English team’s tour of the United States in 2005, he made his debut for the national team. Also, he was a part of the national team for the 2006 and 2010 ‘FIFA World Cups’ along with the ‘Capello Era’ and ‘UEFA Euro 2008.’
Facts About Peter Crouch
When Peter was just a year old, his family moved to Singapore because his father had accepted a job offer in the Far East. After three years, the family moved back to England.
In 1991, he joined the Brentford Centre of Excellence after playing football with Northolt Hotspurs.
In May 2006, during the England vs Hungary game during the FIFA World Cup friendlies, he performed a robotic dance in celebration of scoring a goal. For a time, the dance became a signature move and gained a lot of media attention. For the last time, he performed the dance move in February 2017 to celebrate his 100th Premier League goal.
In 2007, he published his autobiography Walking Tall – My Story. In 2018, he published his second book, Peter Crouch: How to Be a Footballer.
As of 2018, he is one of 28 players who have scored 100 or more Premier League goals. In addition, he holds the record for the most headed goals in Premier League history.
In terms of cumulative transfer fees, Crouch is the 5th most expensive British footballer of all time.
In November 2011, he was charged with speeding, and in August 2012 he was fined £1,000 for the offense. In October, his driving privileges were suspended for six months.
Many managers warned Peter that his lanky frame would prevent him from having a long career in football because of his tall stature. During England’s 2006 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign, he was even booed by the England fans when he appeared for his country as a substitute against Poland.
He is close friends with Irish international and Liverpool defender Steve Finnan.
In 2018, Peter had 51 Premier League header goals to his name, a Guinness World Record. The previous record-holder, Alan Shearer, had 46 goals.
After retiring from football at the age of 38 Crouch has worked with the BBC hosting a Podcast, and a Saturday night BBC One TV show titled Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer. Since June 2021, Crouch has been a Director of Dulwich Hamlet, a team he played for as a 17-year-old.

As soccer is a popular sport worldwide, the clubs playing in the leagues enjoy a lot of money. Consequently, the players are also well-paid. Due to the constantly increasing market value and net worth, living a luxurious lifestyle has become the new normal.
Kevin Trapp has a net worth of $35 million, and his market value is $7.15 million. Owning a 2015 Audi RS 7 valued between $67,000 and $69,300 is no big deal for him. However, further information about his assets and property is under review and has not yet been disclosed.
Additionally, he earns money by modeling for several luxury fashion lines, including Hugo Boss, Germany’s largest clothing company.
Trapp began his football career at FC Brotdorf when he was seven years old, in Merzig, West Germany. At the age of twelve, he moved to SSV Bachem, a neighboring town. Trapp spent two years there before joining SV Mettlach.
Taking part in the 2008–09 DFB-Pokal round 1 against FC Carl Zeiss Jena, Trapp made his first appearance in the first team on 9 August 2008. The club announced on 21 July 2009 that he had signed his first professional contract, keeping him until 2013.
Trapp played again ten days later on 31 July 2009 against Eintracht Braunschweig in round 1 of the 2009–10 DFB-Pokal, where he kept a clean sheet.
During the next two seasons, Trapp appeared as the club’s third-choice goalkeeper and then as the club’s second-choice goalkeeper. During the 2009–10 season, he suffered a shoulder injury that kept him out for three months. Trapp returned to action in January.
As of the start of the 2010–11 season, Trapp became the club’s second goalkeeper and served on the substitute bench.
As regular goalkeeper Tobias Sippel was ill, he made his Bundesliga debut in a 2–1 home win over SC Freiburg on 12 March 2011. All eight of Trapp’s remaining games of the season were played against Sippel.
He kept three clean sheets for the side, including two consecutive ones between 23 April 2011 and 29 April 2011 against Schalke 04 and FC St. Pauli. By the end of the 2010–11 season, Trapp had made nine appearances across all competitions.
Trapp was linked with a move to Schalke 04 before the 2011–12 season, but he ended up staying at the club. Trapp continued to be the club’s first-choice goalkeeper at the start of the season, beating Sippel.
Manager Marco Kurz praised Kevin’s performance, saying that he once again proved his class in a very emotional, intense game and saved the point. Overall, it was a happy FCK point win after 90 minutes, which was morally very valuable.
Trapp, despite suffering an injury in late October, continued to be the club’s first-choice goalkeeper. In addition, he kept two clean sheets for the side, both coming against SC Freiburg and Werder Bremen.
Trapp, however, suffered a thigh injury in early March, which sidelined him for two matches. When he returned from injury, he was on the substitute bench, as Sippel was the club’s first-choice goalkeeper for the rest of the 2011–12 season.
The season progressed as follows: 1. FC Kaiserslautern was eventually relegated to 2.Bundesliga. Trapp made 26 appearances in all competitions during the 2011–12 season.
Eintracht Frankfurt
Trapp joined Eintracht Frankfurt for a fee of €1.5 million on 7 May 2012 from relegated Kaiserslautern.
In the first round of the DFB-Pokal, Trapp made his Eintracht Frankfurt debut and started the match, but was sent off in the 19th minute for a professional foul on Jakub Sylvestr as the club lost 3–0 to Erzgebirge Aue.
Trapp made his league debut in the first match of the season, helping the team to a 2–1 win against Bayer Leverkusen.
In a follow-up match against Hoffenheim, he kept his first clean sheet in his Eintracht Frankfurt career. He quickly established himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.
After a good start to his first season, the team found itself third place by November, and he earned plaudits for his performance against Bayern Munich despite losing 2–0.
Armin Veh praised Kevin Trapp’s performance, saying: “Kevin has a great mentality, he keeps his feet on the ground. He will get even better.” He then helped the club keep four clean sheets from 2 February to 10 March 2013.
Due to a hand injury sustained while playing for the national under-21 team, his campaign ended prematurely in March 2013. In spite of the injury, Trapp made 27 appearances in all competitions and helped Eintracht Frankfurt finish sixth in the Bundesliga, and thus qualify for the UEFA Europa League.
In the opening match of this season, after serving a one-game suspension for his red card last season, Trapp made his first appearance of the season against Hertha BSC and conceded six goals as Eintracht Frankfurt lost 6–1.
During the 2013–14 season, he continued to regain his position as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper. Trapp played in both legs of the UEFA Europa League Play-Offs against Qarabağ, helping his team win 4–1 on aggregate to qualify for the Group Stage.
Following this, he helped Eintracht Frankfurt qualify for the knockout stage of the UEFA Europa League Group Stage and helped the club earn four clean sheets.
The club made it to the last 32, where they lost on away goals to FC Porto after a 5–5 aggregate draw.
In the 77th minute of a 5–0 loss against Bayern Munich on 2 February 2014, he was substituted for a bruise on his right tibia. Following a check, Trapp returned to the starting lineup against Eintracht Braunschweig on 8 February 2014, helping the side win 3–0.
In the 2013-14 season, he saved four penalties, a season record. Trapp made 46 appearances across all competitions during the 2013–14 season.
During the 2014–15 season, Trapp was linked with a move to Borussia Mönchengladbach to replace Marc-André ter Stegen, but he stayed at Eintracht Frankfurt.
